When he arrived, Walter and his wife, Priscilla Todd, welcomed Brad with big smiles.
Brad could not care less about that. He cut straight to the chase and asked, "Where's Leah?"
Walter and Priscilla looked at each other.
Leah and James had yet to have their wedding, so the Blackwell family ordered Walter and Priscilla to seal their lips. That was why nobody in the capital knew that Leah had long gone to Clason City and was preparing for her wedding.
Walter had no choice but to sigh and shake his head. Feeling helpless, he said, "Brad, you should know that you had broken Leah's heart by breaking up with her. You're about to get engaged again, so she got even more upset and went on a trip.
"She refused to tell us where she went. She switched off her phone as well. I have no idea where she is right now."
Brad knew the Young family would not have the guts to lie to him. The Young family was at a low point. They could only make a living by relying on the Coleman family.
Walter was dying to let Leah marry Brad, so he could not possibly lie to Brad about Leah's whereabouts.
That meant there was only one other possibility—Brad had truly hurt Leah and disappointed her by breaking up with her and wanting to get engaged to Zoe. She must not have wished to face everything in the capital or hear others laughing at her. That must be why she went on a trip alone—to escape everything.
Brad thought of how dispirited Leah looked the day he broke up with him, and he felt a little heartbroken.
Maybe his feelings for her were different from those he felt for other women. Even his relationship with Zoe was only thrilling to him because it was new.
He had been with Leah for five years, after all. In all honesty, nobody could replace her. He seemed to like her more than he thought as well.
However, no matter what, Leah had returned the treasure chest, left without a trace, and blocked his number. All that had made Brad a little annoyed.
He would still teach her a small lesson when she returned and asked him to get back with her.
So, Brad's expression softened a little.
With Leah's temper, it should be almost time for her to come crawling back to him.
He would wait for her patiently.
