Chapter 12

Those were the jewelry in the treasure chest he had given to Leah when he pursued her five years ago. Leah treasured every single piece of jewelry in there. Why would Zoe have them?
Brad tightened his grip around Zoe's wrist.
Zoe was in so much pain that she cried out, "You're hurting me, Brad."

"Tell me!" Brad's eyes were filled with anger.
Frightened, Zoe replied in a shaking voice, "I took them from the box Leah gave to Mr. Lowe… I thought they were pretty. It would be a pity to throw them away, so I kept them."
She was just a college student who still lacked life experience.
Brad had given her many expensive jewelry, but they were nothing compared to the ones in the treasure chest.
All women in the world would love to make themselves pretty. That was why she got greedy…
She did not expect Brad to react so strongly. She could not help but be filled with regret.

Brad had never been so angry. He did not think that Leah would return the precious treasure chest.
Both of them knew what the treasure chest meant.
After he gifted it to her, she told him she would take the treasure chest with her when they married. She would keep it with her for the rest of her life.
However, she had abandoned it.

Brad felt a sense of rage burning in his chest, and he had no way to vent it.
He could not stand the sight of the earrings on Zoe's ears either. Therefore, he reached and yanked the earrings off violently.
Then, he barked, "Return everything in the treasure chest to me. I'll kill you if I find anything missing."
He did not bat an eye at Zoe, whose ears were bleeding. He left, leaving his friends and family behind.
As his black Rolls-Royce sped down the road, he took out his phone and called Leah.
"The number you've dialed is switched off. Please try again later."
He called twice in a row, but all he heard was the robotic voice.
His face started to darken.
"Head to the Young family's mansion," he ordered.
