Chapter 47

"But no thanks.

I actually came to ask you if you had lunch. I would like us to go through a few things and maybe I can tell you a few rules that the men on the top floor forgot to mention" she said looking at me as her mood changed from bitchy to totally friendly.

What the heck.

What was up with these hormones.

"Well maybe next time.

I already had lunch and I assure you that if I have a question I shall ask you or Mr Ivanov" I said proceeding to walk back to my desk.

"Well it's good to see you again.

Maybe next time?" She asked looking at as I sat down.

She intensely stared at me and if I had a serious weak bone in me I would have backed down.

But I was the big dog.

"Definetly" I said with a dismissal tone.

I kept my glasses back on and stared at the computer screen secretly waiting for her footsteps to fade and my door to close.

And when I finally heard all that I exhaled a breath and a big amount of air I didnt know that I was holding in.

Shit.

What did she want anyways.

Rolling my eyes I wondered how one blood line could be so alike and I shuddered.

No Josiah.

And no Josiah also meant no thinking of him or whatever was related to him.

When I finally remembered that I had not eaten lunch I took my purse and removed the food container where I had packed a sandwich and to be honest if Josiah's cousin didnt remind or talk about eating lunch I would have forgotten to eat it today.

When I was done my phone rang.

When I picked it up I was immediately informed that a meeting was being organised urgently and I was needed in the meeting room at the tenth floor.

Wow.

Just when I thought I wouldn't see my boss again.

I did attend though.

And to my pleasure he was not in the meeting room and the organiser of the meeting had happened to be his father.

He was back in the building for a meeting then going back his retirement.

In the middle he did introduce me as the new CFO around and introduced me to a few people who work on my floor.

Not bothering to really check and I really wasn't interested in their names.

So I feigned interest.

After one hour and a few minutes it was done and as I was getting into going home mood everything started to agitate me.

Starting with how my heels were killing me and how we were packed in one damn elevator.

Deciding to leave and go with the stairs the rest of the way and that did help a little because I removed my heels on my way up.

For the two remaining hours I sat in the office and went back to the file I took from my office.

What was happening.

I remembered that my file was placed in a red folder and inside held a Manila envelope which was supposed to go directly to Josiah and the papers needed to be revised.

I thought it was the one and thought that Josiah revised it and placed it back where it was a way of saying that he was done.

Oh boy was I wrong.

The following day when I went back to work after dropping Ansel to school I found a whole load of files sent to me and I was supposed to team up with the CTO so that he would perform some assimulation.

Whatever that meant but I knew we had to work on my floor along with his or her team because I got the information from the receptionist on my floor who decided that instead of distributing the folders to my whole teammates I would do it myself.

Looking at the piled up folders that I had to print out I rubbed my temples and decided that it was time to join the rest of the team in the meeting room and share the work.

Entering in the meeting room I used one hand to keep the door open while the other hand held the piled up folders that threatened to fall down if I made any small mistake.

The room suddenly went shut and I wondered what was happening.

Infront of the projector stood Josiah Ivanov from all people and the CTO who happened to be a petite asian looking woman.

One gave me a welcoming smile and the other one intimidated me with a stare down.

Clearing my throat I excused myself then went to my designated seat.

"Welcome Miss Hotch" the Asian woman said with a heavy Mexican accent.

Okay.

Murmuring a thank you with a smile on her way I made eye contact with the devil himself whose jaws were clenched.

What now.

"Miss Hotch you are late.

You were expected here exactly five minutes ago" he said looking at his watch and to be honest he looked nice with a clean shave.

"Sorry I got late but I really had to printout and arrange these files according to whoever they were supposed to be distributed to since they were directly sent to me at the wrong time." I said with a tight lipped smile.

Today I had worn my red lipstick and matched it with a grey short sleeved blouse along with a skirt that reached below my knees and it had a slit at the back which was a little bit high or risky may I add.

"Well that's great but let's proceed" Josiah said then averted his attention somewhere else.

Yaay what a relief. I felt my breathing going back to normal and I had to mentally slap myself.

What was wrong with me.

The rest of the people in the room either looked at me or ignored the fact that they saw a new person.
