"I'm sorry." he grinned then looked at the rest of us who ran to greet him.
Same old Xavier! Nothing's changed!
Cristiano hugged him then slapped him on his arm.
"You had me worried sick." Chrissy shook his head smiling "Reckless boy."
Xavier laughed.
"I'm sorry to make all of you worried." he grinned "I'm fine."
His gaze suddenly fell on Damanico and his smiled disappeared.
"She's fine." Damanico put in hands into his pockets then used his eyes to point to Royalty who hadn't moved from the spot she was in when she first came
She was looking at the ground, not looking up into his eyes. Xavier let go of Neveah and brushed past us towards Royalty. She looked up slowly when she heard him coming and their gaze locked for a while but neither of them moved.
"Roy-"
Xavier's POV
"Roy-" I started but was interrupted by the sound of gun shots and that voice which made me see red
"We meet again?" Cardinal stepped out of the shadows "Or should I say Arivonese?"
Royalty looked at me confused.
"How'd you get out?" Damanico pulled out a gun and I heard a click.
"My girls follow my rules once I get into their pants and satisfy them." Cardinal laughed and pulled out a gun in each hand "Goodbye Damanico."
In one swift motion he fired at Damanico whose reflexes were extremely sharp and when he tilted his head the bullet missed.
He's sharp!
Damanico fired back and hit Cardinal in his arm. He was about to fire another one when there came the sound of far off sirens and shattering glass. All attention turned to Felix and the millions of sparkly pieces around him.
The music box!
He grinned and turned to Cardinal.
"No more music box and no more drama." he said fiercely as Cardinal watched the broken box and pieces on the ground "The box was never real. It was just some posh made thing. Get a whole of yourself old man! Guys let's bounce. The cops are almost here."
"You called them?" Cardinal pointed his gun at Felix while his hands shook with rage "You knew. You knew this all along."
"We both did." I said and he turned to me and pointed the other gun
"Then I'll just kill you to rid of my rage!" the both guns clicked
"Not on my watch." Crisitano pulled out his gun "You have to go through me first."
The sirens got louder.
"Let's go." Geovanni and Jianan pulled the boys into the SUV and I followed them
"Xavier." Royalty took hold of my hand and I turned around
"We'll talk later baby." I told her as the sirens got louder "We've got to go."
"But-" she pulled on my sleeve
"I promise Royalty. We'll talk later." I told her then gently unhooked her hand and followed the boys into the SUV while she stayed with Neveah and Damanico.
"Damanico." I called to him and he looked up "Tell her."
I didn't see Xavier again that night but from what I overheard Rocco and Damanico talking about, he had the traitors in his mafia weeded out. In common terms it meant he had them handed over to the state for good by planting false evidence against them.
Cardinal was on the loose and hunting for Xavier. Felix was helping Xavier and Damanico and Rocco had their traitors weeded out also. The cops were pretty pleased with the handing over of criminals but were confused as to why they were suddenly appearing.
I lay on my bed hugging my pillow. It was morning now and for the whole night I hadn't sleep while Damanico had left me after telling me everything.
Why'd he have to lie? I wouldn't have done anything if he had told me the truth why I was actually taken from Miami. I miss him. I want him to hold me again. I want him to whisper how much he loves me. I want to sort this out with him so we can move on.
Ro? Do you really love him after he cheated on you with Jennifer? He didn't have a choice. He needed to find out about Cardinal. Do you think he loves you or is he just using you like he did to his other girls? I.....
There was a soft knock on the door and I turned to see a shirtless Damanico walk in.
"Royalty sleep." he said softly and I turned away from him and pulled the cover over my head "You've been up all night and you need to sleep."
"I'm not tired." I said
I heard him sigh and close the door softly. He walked gently over to the bed and sat down.
"Are you mad at him?" he asked
I turned around and kicked off the sheet.
"Why'd he lie?" I asked
"Royalty, he had to lie." Damanico rested on the head board "He's a mob boss and he took you from America to protect you from Cardinal killing you. Cardinal wanted a box that wasn't real and he was going to any extent to get it. Another part of the reason he lied about his identity is because if you got captured, Cardinal would want word out of you. His original plan was to have you as one of his girls but the tables turned and you became his lover."
I was quiet for a while.
"Does he really love me?" I questioned getting up slowly "How'd do I know I'm not just another one of his sluts?"
"Royalty he's crazy for you."
"That's what everyone's saying. I love him but I want to know that he loves me for me and not for my body."
Damanico sighed again. I knew I was being difficult but my emotion were scattered all over for the last four months and any little thing made me think a certain way. Finding out that Xavier lied after the break up had me confused and doubting myself.
Was I not good enough for him? Did he want more? Is that why he slept with Jennifer?
"Nico?" I walked over to my closet and looked into the mirror on the door
"Hmm." he looked at me
