Chapter 427 THE TRUTH 1

1011words
As Evelyn had imagined, her daughter in law looked broken seated with her assistant Ashley. Noah couldn't touch her or console her in public for fear of them getting caught but his presence with her was greatly felt. Even if a few individual knew about them, the public was yet to know anything.

"Isn't that Evelyn Declan, what is she doing here?" One of the local models Nari had hired asked.

Who in Summerlane don't know of the Declan? They just couldn't go close to them or stay in the same atmosphere as them. But seeing them arrived at a place like this, everyone stared at the Sui's differently now. Nari's friends all eyed her suspiciously.

Kate who noticed this suddenly smiled with raised shoulders, for the first time ever, she really wanted to be related to the Declan's. This is really upgrading to her status indeed.

"Mack worked with them?" Erica asked, surprised and impressed at the same time.

"Oh Kate, you found yourself the right son in-law." She giggled preparing herself as she saw the proud woman walk in.

Evelyn, the envy of many women because of how beautiful she is and unapologetic she is about it walked past the women who gwacked at her, Including Kate.

The woman Kate has lost all form of respect from her after the little stunt she pulled with her daughter. Their family can never associate with liars and fraudsters, never.

Rather than approaching Kate and her bunch of nobodies, Evelyn had walked past them to where Anna sat. The women all felt ashamed immediately.

"I thought you said you once worked for them, how are they going to Anna?" Erica Budu didn't hide her curiosity. She had expected to meet Evelyn Declan one on one today. But rather than the people she had praised and seen as important, Evelyn walked up to Anna.

"Anna is the one who works with the Declan's. She's the face of Eclipse, the biggest entertainment company in Summerlane." A model amongst the rest said. She's the same one that had ridiculed Nari before and exposed her.

"I never said I worked for them." Mack corrected the first statement even if he hadn't only worked for them, but he had been their serving boy. Erica now saw both Mack and his wife as nobodies. She couldn't believe she had said all those things about Anna, meanwhile Anna had the connection she needed. All this time, she had been talking with the wrong people.

"Anna." Evelyn called her daughter in law who rushed into her arms the moment she saw her. Anna hugged her like her life depended on it. She was broken, she felt all alone. Her aunt Grace was more than just an aunt, she was sher defender, a good friend, she was like mother. One that stood up for her.

Grace holds a place no one can feel. She hated that she hadn't spend enough time with the woman, that she couldn't see her children. Grace would have loved them, she would have carried them like her own.

Why was the world so cruel?

She had lost her parents in the most brutal way too and now her aunt and grandfather.

Anna didn't say anything to Evelyn except cry. Vincent and Beth who had accompanied Evelyn felt her pain. They wished they could all take all of the pain away. Kate who saw how much the Declan's ignored her and rather walk up to her neice frowned at this. The love they were showing Anna was too much.

Anna doesn't deserve these treatment and love.

"That's enough Anna, everything will be fine. We're here for you." Beth said.

"I didn't even talk to her before she died. She the last time I called... *Sniffle* she didn't pick up." Anna said calmly.

"I'm sure she's in a better place now, she wouldn't want you to cry Anna." Beth hugged her sister in law. "I don't know what your aunt was like so much, but the little time I saw her, I know she wouldn't want you to cry too much." Beth said. She moved close to her sister in-law and whispered, "What would the kids say if they keep seeing mummy cry like this. Their health is at stake."

*Sniffle*

Anna sniffled again wiping her tears with the back of her hands. She would not cry anymore. Beth was right, she had forgotten about eating this morning when she heard the news and now she feels a lot dizzy at the moment.

Nari who saw the love and care poured on Anna greened with envy. One again, the thought of taking over Anna's position, not only as the heiress of the Sui's empire but also as Noah Declan's wife flashes across her mind. But then she thought, the only reason these people cared about Anna was because they all think she's pregnant.

Nari feels like Anna was lying, no expectant mum would have the strength to cry on an empty stomach. Anna could decieve everyone, but not her. She Nari had been pregnant before, she knows what it feels like to be a mother and she could tell Anna was not pregnant.

"Anna, sister please don't cry anymore." Nari walked over to where Anna stood. Up until this moment, she hadn't acknowledged her cousins existence as she wanted to keep the attention on herself and her relationship with Mack, but all of a sudden, she wanted to speak to Anna.

The other public figures who understood Nari's games all rolled their eyes. Just like them, she wanted favour from the Declan's. Everyone wanted to be close to the most powerful family in the country.

"Your sister is right Anna, please don't cry. Grace wouldn't want that for us remember, we're all we have at the moment. It's time for us to stick together." Kate walked up to her neice. It's not like she cared about Anna, but she only wanted to prove to the women that Evelyn Declan wasn't just there for Anna but for her also.
