This is supposed to be her own prince charming. Mack was meant to be her Knight in shinning armour, yet compared to Noah Declan, he was nothing. Anna still found a better man than her. Even if Mack had decieved her before and tricked her into marrying him for the diamond award, she forgives him. After all, she was broke now, and needs him more than ever.
"Where exactly did they keep you all this while. How did you go months without shaving?" Kate asked still bewildered by everything. Her supposed son in law looked so skinny and malnourished while Noah was still rich and healthy. She couldn't even begin to wonder how this man was supposed to take care of himself, when he could barely walk himself.
Both women watched him download all of the food and fruits they had given him. They barely had enough for themselves and now Mack was here to eat more.
"In a jungle filled with nothing but trees and plants. I had to live and survive on plants." Mack said casually, his white teeth now all brown and yellow as he spoke. He couldn't forget the countless times he screamed and yelled for help but there was no one. He had no idea where he was even to this day.
That black van always brought a loaf of bread sandwich and a bottle of water every weekends and that was the end. Noah Declan really punished him, the last thing Mack wanted was to go back to that place, or close to anything that has to do with both Anna and Noah. He would stay off their path from now on.
That man isn't someone to play around with or joke with. He would never get close to them.
"I don't remember the mansion being this small." Mack looked around the small sized mansion with barely any furniture in it. Nari knew she had a lot of explaining to do, but she could wait for tonight. For now, they should be more focused on how Mack would look good and presentable for future use. She couldn't go out with him last this, him in this state would atre up rumors and random conversations.
"We've been kicked out of the mansion." Nari said rising from where she sat.
"Life a few months ago and now isn't the same anymore Mack. A lot has changed for us as a family. We've spent all of the money and dignity we have bringing you here." Kate started. Mack turned to Nari who didn't deny or say anything to her mother's words.
It was true. Mack should have known, there's no way the proud Kate Sui would seat in the same room as him. He could recall that day she was so against their marriage, she had embarrassed him and threatened Nari to divorce him. Mack couldn't believe what he was hearing either.
He had married Nari with the intention of being somehow related to Anna's wealth, if Anna doesn't have the wealth anymore, why then is he still married to Nari?
"So... You're saying you have no money anymore?" Mack didn't bother beating around the bush and went straight to the point. This was a game of life, he couldn't possibly be married to anyone broke, especially after spending months in the jungle. He had no money or a life yet, and he couldn't afford to go back to Noah Declan's company. They had fired him from the first night of the abduction. The Sui's were supposed to be his escape plan, it's the reason he wanted Nari in the first place.
"We're broke for now Mack, but it doesn't mean we cannot stand back up. We just need a little push and then we're back up. Anna still provides for us, the Declan's have been a helping hand to us." Nari tried to explain.
"What really happened?" Mack asked. It was amusing because the last time he was here, the Sui's were still bastardly rich. Oh if they've lost everything it means his family were barely surviving. His father was ill, there's no way the money he had left them before can sustain them to this time. He had spent months in that place that is worse than hell.
He lives like a jungle man for months.
"Mother made certain decisions that we're still trying to amend Mack. It's not like we've completely lost everything, we've just been unable to play back the money we owe so those people used our wealth and company as collateral." Nari explained.
"It has all been my foolishness and I regret it now. I should have never made such rash decisions. Now more than ever we need to unite together." Kate said.
"I wish the same was said months ago when I really wanted to be married to your daughter." Mack said with a smile. He remembered everything vividly, the constant humiliation and insults from everyone.
"Those are in the past now Mack. We're a family and we need to stand together. We cannot rise of we're decided. I can make a few pulls from old friends and aquaintances and they could get you something to do for the time being." Kate suggested. She couldn't believe a day would come when she would beg this boy here to be her son in law. She just couldn't lose Mack, it doesn't matter what she does.
"I'm sorry Mrs Sui, but you'll need more than that to keep me closer." Mack shrugged. Kate frowned at his words. She didn't like where this was going. What did he mean by need more than that. This wasn't an offer or a show, they were being serious here.
"What are you talking about?" Nari was the one to ask this time.
"It's clear who needs who Nari. You're no longer rich, you've lost all of your money. What good is our marriage then?" Nari's eyes went wide.
"I cannot reduce myself into marrying a useless woman. I need money now more than ever, and the options around... Seems far more better."
"How shameless of you. You act like you're better than us at the moment. You're as useless as a lame man Mack, you don't even have a house to stay in. You should be grateful we have convinced Anna to free you else you would have been rotting in that jungle." Kate barked. She couldn't believe his words. Mack Yong can never change, so proud and stupid even when he clearly doesn't have anything to his name.
"We will not have you insult us Mack. You know you need us. Do not forget your place. Just because we're in this doesn't mean we've lost everything Mack, it's only a matter of time before we get everything back." Nari started walking away. She felt so insulted by his words. But she couldn't blame him, Mack was right. She was useless at the moment.
And it's all because of Anna. Nari quickly picked up her cell phone and dialed a number. For ever anger, for every pain she goes through, Anna Sui will pay for it one way or another.
"Hello miss Nari." A woman's voice was heard from the other end of the line.
"I need a favour from you."
"What is it miss Nari." The woman at the other end asked.
"I have a special patients at the mental asylum that I want you to deal with for me. I need the job to be as clean as always."
"Miss Nari, you'll need to be specific with your request so that it can be processed." The woman said.
"I want you to deal with Grace Sui. I need her to be punished so much tonight. I want pain inflicted on her tonight." Nari said. She would make Grace pay for everything Anna has done. It's a good thing she doesn't her precious aunt is also in the metal asylum with her mother. Now more than ever, Nari enjoyed her decision of actually keeping the woman there.
"It shall be done miss Nari, but there's only one problem." The woman said.
"What is it?"
"Mrs Grace and her father have been missing from the asylum since yesterday. We have been looking for them, didn't you get the message from the doctor?" Nari's phone fell from her hands immediately. This couldn't be happening, Grace and the general cannot go missing.
Did Anna know about them too?
Did she save her aunt?
Is that why she sounded so bold and sure?
What was going on? How did they go missing?
"What are you talking about?" Nari picked he cell phone immediately to be sure she wasn't day dreaming. They had been there, the doctor even threatened to send them to the local area because they couldn't afford the normal place, so how did they get missing?
"Miss Grace and the general have both been missing from the mental asylum for a day now. We have no idea where they have both gone to, but we're trying our best to find them."
