1510words
But even she could tell this year was different. Noah has been different and distant since she arrived. He hasn't spoken to her or argued with her. Elizabeth felt like a lost child at some point.
Everything she's done till this very moment was to seek attention. She loved the attention of everyone on her and now, she has lost everything. One stupid decision has made her lose everything she thought she had.
She had waited for her gift all week, praying that Noah forgives her and give her something like every year. She knew she had hurt him so much in the last months, but she hoped he would figive her and that things could go back to how it always was.
The last gift of the night, and it was unfortunately not from Noah like she had imagined. It had come from Anna. With all smiling face, Anna handed her gift to her new found sister and friend. She wasn't the celebrant of the night yet it felt like it was her birthday because of how happy she was.
"Thank you Anna." Beth took the last gift as she peeked around for Noah but she found nothing. For the first time since she had known Noah, he didn't get her anything for her birthday. He had only attended and that was all.
"Where's Noah, when is he giving me my gift?" Beth couldn't hold her tongue as she laughed about it. Evelyn glanced at Anna and then at her husband and grandfather. The entire Declan family knows how much Beth values Noah's gift. Evelyn was scared her daughter might go back to her shell after this.
"He's saved the best for last. Don't worry, I'm sure he has something for you." Anna winked at her sister in law. She had no idea what Noah had planned for the night, but she hoped he had Beth's gift. He has been one of the pioneers of the party even if Beth had no idea about it.
Anna knows Noah has forgiven his sister long ago. If he hadn't, he would never have let her leave that dungeon.
"Ugh, the kind of gift she has yet she looks so sad." Nari whispered next to her mother as she stared at the girl. All she could see was good valuable items. Something she should be owning for herself. This is the kind of lifestyle she needed, not being stuck up in that old mansion with Kate while she fights over her fake jewels.
"Maybe she didn't get what she wanted." Kate said. She knew how spoilt kids behaved, she's done this before countless times in the past. She should be bothered with gifts. They're not the reason she was here. She was here to deal with Anna for stealing her jewels and at the same time, make her stupid neice free Mack once and for all.
Anna had no right to hold her brother in law hostage as long as she has. The nonsense had continued for so long and it was time to stop.
"Thank you everyone for honouring my invitation tonight and attending my birthday party." Beth started with her speech. She was genuinely grateful for the people that had attended her party. Even if her party was elegant and different from the other youth parties around, she was still grateful for it. Every single soul in attendance have somehow made her night great.
The only people that aren't happy for her are the two people standing at a corner staring at the girl celebrate. Roseline didn't leave the party at all. After the humiliated she had retired to a corner where she examined everything going on. It's ear to her now that the Declan's weren't broke at all, infact Evelyn and her family can never be broke, so it's best they stop looking for every loop hole to destroy the Declan's.
They can never be destroyed no matter what anyone does about it. The Declan's have a solid foundation for years and years to come. A man like Noah Declan can never be defeated.
"I'm glad, I get to share this wonderful age with everyone. I'm glad I'm alive and well to see this wonderful age. I haven't been the best daughter and sister in the past, but from tonight. I promise to be my best." Everyone clapped at Beth's speech as they cheered for her.
Hannah who was standing at a corner scoffed as she stared at the girl. Her daughter was still trying to recover mentally and physically from the abuse Noah Declan has caused her and here they were celebrating their daughter who look perfectly fine and healthy. She would never allow the Declan's free from whatever they have done to her Cara.
Cara committed no crime in loving Noah Declan, but what did she get in return, pain and depression. Beth hasn't even called her since their arrival. She has moved on so happily and gotten even more beautiful since everything happened.
"A gift from the queen herself." An announcer from the palace came with his gift. Beth was already used to the queens kindness, being her favorite neice, she has recieved so many generous gift from Elizabeth in the past.
Beth read through the message on the gift, all happy and smiling, "Dear Beth, I'm sorry I couldn't make it in person to your birthday party. Please dear, accept my little gits as an apology gift, I will visit you soon for a more tangible gift." The announcer announced and handed the gift over to Beth.
"Tell her I'm so grateful." Beth smiled at the announcer.
"I think that's the last and final gift for the night?" Evelyn said looking around when she found her father in law with a little box in his hands.
"The ceremony isn't over if I haven't given my granddaughter her gift yet." Vincent moved close to his granddaughter as he handed his gift to her. He was more than proud of his granddaughter's growth. Since her return, Beth had turned into a completely different person.
Maybe Noah's punishment wasn't so bad after all, maybe that little brain reset was all she needed to come back to the lovely and beautiful Beth the entire family were fond of.
"Thank you to everyone. Thank you for your gifts." Beth said.
Hannah who was standing quietly at a corner, couldn't take it anymore. She would never allow the people that has ruined her daughter's life live normally. She wasn't even invited to the party until this morning when the invitations came. Beth had been the one to secretly send the invitation in hopes that her best friend would come celebrate with her.
She wanted to see Cara once again, to at least know how she was doing. She had hoped that Cara was okay and was even planning to finally visit after her party.
Since there was no one else to gift the birthday girl, Hannah decided to deliver her very special gift.
"I have gift for you our dear Beth." Everyone turned to the direction of the voice as they watched Hannah step out of the corner where she had been standing until this moment. Evelyn stared at the woman and all she could see was a broken woman.
"Aunt Hannah." Beth called happy that at least one person in Cara's family had honoured her invitation. She looked around in search of Cara, but she couldn't find her friend anywhere.
"When I saw your invitation this morning, I couldn't resist not coming. By the way, Cara sends her regards. It's unfortunate she couldn't make it after everything that happened." Hannah said walking up to the girl with her box of gift in her hands.
As she approached Beth, the smile on her face dropped when she saw the girl standing next to Beth.
The Genesis of all of these...
The woman who had ruined her daughter's life and turned her into something else.
Anna had no idea the intention of the woman walking towards her, but the moment Hannah set her eyes on the girl, she had a change of plan.
Anna Sui is the one she wanted to hurt tonight. Beth has done nothing wrong, it was all Anna. She had hated Anna from the first day Noah introduced her to them and made an announcement that the girl was his wife.
Anna is the reason her daughter almost lost her life that night. Anna should be paying for everything.
As if sensing her plans Noah rushed towards his wife but it was already too late. Hannah had launched the little dagger in her hands at Anna's stomach...
