Different celebrities and known figures were already present. Each taking pictures and Videos of the event. Anna and her hubby hurried out of the car as they went ahead to honour Beth's birthday. They were already so late, Anna couldn't imagine the scolding she would get from Kate tonight.
She had wanted to come here directly after eating at the local shop, but Noah insisted they went back home. In his defense, he wanted to prepare her for the event himself since everything they needed was at home.
"The carpet event is over miss Sui. Welcome." Ashley said. He has been waiting for her arrival. Since Lola said Anna didn't need the make up glam, he didn't have any work arranging them and just came here.
"I wasn't going to attend that anyways. How are things in the mansion?" As always, Anna had to walk in alone since she wouldn't want anyone finding out about her relationship with Noah. As much as he didn't want to let his wife out of his sight, Noah arranged her dress one more time as she did his.
"I'll see you inside." He murmured and she nodded.
"I'll be fine with Ashley and the guards you sent." Anna stared at the two hefty looking men right behind her. She would have to learn how to live like this for the time being.
She arranged her hubby's suit one more time as she watched him walk away.
"How many people are in there?" Anna asked Ashley as she arranged her dress one final time, before she started walking. Arriving at an event like this late meant one thing, and it's the one thing she has tried to avoid all night. Stealing the show from the celebrant. It's Beth's night, and she didn't want any of that.
She would have to walk side by side with Ashley and avoid whatever extra entrance Noah has set up for her.
"I need you two to stay 6 feet away from me." Anna announced to the men who bowed at her command and kept their distance.
"Shall, we?" She smiled at her assistant who smiled back at her giving her his hands. Anna was really happy her labour today hadn't been in vein. She had tried to clear her families name and it did work out because the internet was no longer calling them broke anymore. There was just speculations about what could be the truth and what couldn't. Right now, no one knows the actual truth about her family.
"There are lots of important figures in attendance tonight. Though Mrs Roseline Declan tried to set confusion before between your Aunt earlier, she was shunned just in time by everyone tonight." Ashley confessed. It would have truly been a disaster if Roseline's plans worked.
Anna frowned at his words. She was the same woman who had spoken about her infidelity that day to hurt her. Janjan's mother in law. She fear she and her best friend will never be able to settle things ever again as long as she's related to that woman.
"Where is she now?"
"Only God knows where. She left after the humiliation she caused herself." Ashley said casually.
Anna knew something like this would happen. Whatever her aunt has done has made them an easy target to bullying. Not that she cared, but Kate is one who cares about social status so much, it would affect her badly. But anyways she caused this to herself, whatever it is she was going through the caused it to herself and deserve whatever outcome she's getting tonight.
"Anything else?" She asked and Ashley shook his head. He must have been there to witness Kate's exchange of words with Roseline Declan, but he hadn't noticed the conversation between Kate and Evelyn. No one knew that part.
"Dinner should start anytime soon." Ashley added as they both started walking away. He was already so hungry from all of the waiting and worry about Anna attending or not. The few reporters who were stationed at the entrance of the mansion took pictures of the gorgeous Anna Sui in a black dress.
The news were already around that she had arrived. Her fans online were finally settled to have seen her again after everything going on. She has ghosted everyone these past few days and everyone was begging to worry.
The pregnancy glow did it's little wonders on her because she looked breathtakingly beautiful tonight.
Noah who rarely attend parties had come out tonight to see his wife was okay. He smiled when he saw her walk in from the stairs. Though he was still unable to talk or associate with her in public places, seeing that she was fine made him happy.
No matter how hard Anna Sui tried not to steal the show from Beth tonight, she did as everyone turned to look at her. For someone that had been on the news recently, it was almost impossible not to notice her walk in.
Evelyn and the rest smiled when they saw her. Rather than scolding her, Evelyn hurried to hug her daughter in law, making the other woman there green with envy as they stared at her. Evelyn is a big short in the society, anyone who finds favour in the eyes of the Declan's immediately becomes the countries treature.
"Mother."
"You're late as always Anna. Where is your husband?" She peeked behind Anna as if searching for her son. She knows both her children were not in good terms at the moment, but it would be bad if Noah misses his sisters party. Beth has been looking forward to his gift all week.
"Over there mother. You know we cannot be seen together in public yet." Anna reminded her.
"Annabelle Sui, why are so late tonight?" Beth moved from the people she spoke to the moment she noticed Anna walk in. Nari and Kate who were both standing at a corner glared at all of the love Anna was getting tonight.
It still baffled Kate that even after her niece being so useless to her, these people still loved her like a normal person.
Kate wasn't happy that Anna had stolen the show from Nari, but she knew there was nothing she could do. Her neice had her way of charming people with her looks and fake personality. Plus, she could no longer afford to do anything stupid tonight, not after her little altercation with Evelyn earlier.
The woman might not have said anything more to her, but it was obvious she didn't like her anymore. Infact it was obvious she didn't want them there anymore. Evelyn had insulted her tonight, and for the first time, Kate felt so ashamed of herself and her actions.
Evelyn was right, everything she's been enjoying till this moment has been because of her niece. She had tried to talk down on Anna tonight to make her look bad, but it did backfire in the end. The Declan's will never stop loving Anna, and there's nothing she can do about that.
"Hello, miss Beth Declan. Happy birthday sister." Anna hugged her sister in law.
"I'm just glad my neice and nephew are here to wish me a happy birthday too." Beth winked and both girls started laughing.
"Nari, come let's go say hi to Anna and the rest. You cannot expect to find the right connection tonight without mingling with the right people." Kate said stylishly to her daughter. She didn't like the entire attention on Anna. It should be shared between her and Nari as they both are sisters.
Whatever Anna had will automatically becomes Nari's.
"There's no need for that mother, I'll come up with another plans again." Nari said. She had thought attending the Declan's event would do any good for her, but it didn't at all.
"Nonsense. Do not forget the reason we are here in the first place. We need to do everything tonight to make Anna free Mack. Once he's out, we would not need to be in a gathering as this one anymore." Kate reminded her daughter. They couldn't lose for us at the moment. Getting Mack free should be their major priority tonight, before anything else.
"Anna dear, you're here." Kate rushed to her neice's side to be the best aunt she could be to her. It's was only for tonight, what could probably go wrong?
"Aunt Kate, how did I not see you earlier. Are you enjoying the night?" Anna asked her Aunt.
"Of course, this is one of the best night's of my life dear. I was worried you wouldn't make it tonight, you came rather late." Kate said all smiling and happy like she and her niece have the best relationship.
She wanted to clear her name and whatever had happened before. And that is proving to Evelyn and the rest that she has no issue with Anna whatsoever.
