Chapter 390 ANOTHER USELESS PLAN AFTER SHAME 1

1034words
As if the people around hadn't just heard correctly. The manager brought the machine close to the jewel again and it gave the same beeping sound. He frowned. He had hoped this woman will not try to dupe him, he thought since she's a reputable woman she would do the right thing.

"What's going on?" Kate asked staring at the jeweler who had a frown on his face. It's like he knew the jewels were fake that's why he had brought his detector.

"It turns out these necklaces are fake, including the earrings and bracelets." Kate frowned at his declaration.

"That's impossible.' Kate spat.

Was this man trying to steal from her? Oh she can see clearly through his plans. He wants to steal her jewels because he knows they're the original.

She had made these jewels from the best of the best. It was impossible for them to be fake.

"Do you know what you're talking about mister? All of these jewels were handmade from the best. The diamonds on them aren't just any diamonds, they're rare stones gotten from the original stones."

"I'm afraid they aren't ma'am. These jewels are fake, we don't need them, you might as well find one of those cheap jewelry exchange stores, I'm sure they'll be willing to buy them." He suggested as he removed his gloves.

Kate panicked. These can't be happening, she had personally bought all of her jewels herself. She spent millions acquiring the best all these years. If there's one thing people knew her for was for her flashy jewels, so how can they be fake?

"There must be a mistake somewhere Mr. Maybe your machines aren't working perfectly. There's no way my jewels are fake." Kate said in a panicked tone. She needed this money, she wanted it now more than ever. She couldn't go back home empty handed.

"I have been running these business for years madam Sui. I know a fake jewelry when I see one. You did a good job trying to decieve me before I'll give that to you. But please take these cheap jewels somewhere else, I have other customers to attend to." He waved her off immediately.

He was deliberately rejecting the jewels so that she knows they were actually fake. He couldn't believe after all of her bragging, her jewels will end up being fake. All these desperate women this days.

"But..."

"Just let it go Kate deaf, the jeweler knows his job. And he said your jewelries are fake." Sasha said in a mocking tone. "You know, you should limit yourself to wearing cheap things for impressions. You're bigger than these." Sasha added.

"I knew all of the rumors going on around you were true. You're broke now and looking for money so you came to sell your jewel in a prominent store as these one." Sasha stated the obvious, shaming the woman who once looked down at her and her friend.

From the slightly dim skin and wrinkles on Kate's face, she should have known she was going through a lot now.

"How can you be like that Sasha. Kate said the rumors are not true, did you forget she had a wealthy neice willing to spend all of her dime on her." Victoria said these time. She was petty too, but she wanted to give Kate a pass because her daughter loves Anna so much.

Sasha had been the one to escort Victoria to the Sui's mansion that day for their grandfather's welcome party. She had seen how unfairly they treated Anna so it's understandable if the girl has refused to help them or anyone around them.

"But how could she? Kate doesn't even like her neice." Sasha added. It was no news after that day, people had seen how unfairly Anna was being treated in her own home. She was like an outcast, while Nari was treated like the real daughter. Everyone had seen it that day.

"You have no right to judge my family." Kate barked.

"Of course we don't, but nothing is hidden anymore. Haven't heard of the fall of the Sui's? Nothing you do will ever save you anymore. You're a laughing stock in all of Summerlane, and to think you would be at least humble this time, you were just rude to the only people that could help you." Victoria said in annoyance.

Even if the Sui had higher social ranking before, with their current position, she was now above them. Kate was nothing but a mere filthy human to her. But she'll reduce herself to her level. She'll never pay evil for evil, she'llet the universe play it's card the way it's doing. Kate will never know what hit her.

In shame, Kate packed her fake jewels and started leaving the shop. She had bragged too much when she arrived and even insulted Victoria and Sasha unprovoked. The plans she had today had been ruined completely. She didn't even know what to do anymore.

She's so sure Nari had used up the few thousands Anna had sent for groceries. If things go on like this, they might as well become full time beggers on the streets. Kate never imagined her life would be this way, she had planned for a more brighter future.

Right now, she regrets trying to get back at her niece. She thought she had everything figured out but she was wrong. She should have never tried to hurt Anna the way she did. She had been too blinded by greed and thought she could use her neice's childless situation to kick her out of the Declan's family.

Wait...

This isn't entirely her fault at all. What's the point of Anna staying married to Noah if she cannot even utilize the opportunity and help them when they need her the most?

The Declan's are having a birthday bouquet tonight for their daughter. It would be the biggest party in Summerlane, yet somehow her neice had lied about them going bankrupt too. This is her one chance at ruining things for her neice. For tonight, she would have to pull every trick in the book to get Anna out of that family for good.
