Chapter 379 ANOTHER TRICK IN THE BOOK 1

1048words
The ride to the hospital was a smooth and quiet one. Anna kept ignoring the messages from her aunt and credulous cousins as they were the least of her worries at the moment. She was going to be exposed today for being a big liar and manipulator.

The entire Declan family are going to scold her for lying and decieving them for weeks now. That was more important than whatever it was her ungrateful aunt wanted. She couldn't be seen with people whose words and actions are to only hurt and use her everytime.

She wasn't their slave or toy to be played with. She's just a girl who values family and wants peace, but it seems Kate is unredeemable. Maybe Noah is right, her aunt will never like her no matter what she does.

"Why aren't you checking your phone? The messages seems to be persistent." Beth spoke out. She has tried ignoring the beeping sound herself but she couldn't anymore. It was getting irritating. She felt like whatever it was must be important to be this persistent.

"It is nothing you should worry yourself with. It's just my aunt with one of her temper tantrums." Anna explained rolling her eyes.

"Speaking of them, how are they doing Anna? The whole money stuff must be really exhausting for them." Beth asked. She had only heard about Anna's aunties being affected but she didn't know that one of them was infact missing with their grandfather.

While Beth was in her hate campaign for Anna back then, she discovered Anna had two aunts. One she didn't like who also has a daughter around their age, and the quiet one who looked like she could be stepped on easily.

Beth had been too far away to keep up with the stories surrounding the Sui's and Anna's life.

Anna sighed. Whatever her aunt Kate was going through, she caused it to herself, she brought this doom upon herself. It's quite unfortunate she was suffering too. The money in her accounts were far from returning. Kate's bad decision has stopped her life and career for whole week now.

"She's doing great."

"If it's not too much to ask Anna. Why don't we visit them one of these days with lots of gifts." Anna wanted to decline, but the zeal and genuineness in Beth's eyes didn't let her decline. If only Kate was the one kidnapped and not Grace, they would have had the best time together.

She should be finding her Aunt right now. Grace might be in trouble, all she needs is to know where Kate might have kept the woman. But that would be a impossible as trying to turn a rock wet. Kate was very sleek and discreet about her things. You can never catch her doing anything wrong.

For Beth, since she was already in good terms with Anna, she saw no reason why she couldn't be in good terms with Anna's family. Besides both family were expecting their first grandchild, now is the time they come together more than ever to welcome the child.

When Anna didn't respond to Kate's endless messages, she called her neice. Anna couldn't resist anymore and decided to pick it up.

"Aunt Kate." Anna responded preparing her mind for the worst of insult being thrown at her, but rather than that...

"Anna are you still mad at I and your cousin? We're sorry for how we left things the last time." Kate said from the other end. She was angry that Anna has lied about Noah losing his money when he didn't, but Kate didn't want to bring that up. Anna is her only hope right now. If she had issues with her neice, then she would be ready to die of hunger.

"What do you want?" Anna asked. She wasn't in the mood for games. She had pressing matters at hand, the humiliation she was about to face was more important than anything Kate had to tell her.

"Don't be that way Anna. I called because early this morning I received a message from the detective in charge of your aunt's case. He said he would stop the case if we don't provide him with money Anna. He's demanding for too much." She said. If Anna doesn't want to help them, then she would find another means of extorting money from her neice.

She doesn't care how Anna provide the money, but she knows she has to attend the bouquet party today and she needed new clothes. Important guest will be in attendance and she needed the world and her naysayers to see that she was okay and doing fine.

Kate and Nari both had one thing in common, and that was their reputation. They never play about that. They could kill to keep a wonderful reputation. Since Nari's was already ruined to the last, she didn't really care anymore.

Anna almost burst out laughing at her aunt's words. This woman must really see her as a fool. If Noah hadn't told her everything Kate was doing was fake, Anna would have fallen for her tricks again, like she has done the other times.

"Anna I know this must be stressful for you. B... But there's nothing we can do now. Your aunt and grandfather's lives are at stake. He said he has a leading on them meaning hw would find them soon." Kate said to her neice.

"I don't know Aunt. I'll have to ask Noah for help first and then I'll get back to you." Kate frowned.

"Does your husband always have to know what we're doing. You're his wife Anna, his money is yours." Kate couldn't maintain the nice lovely aunt personal for long. She was slowly losing her mind. Her neice was driving her crazy.

"I know Aunt Kate, but Noah's accounts have been locked too. We're basically so poor that we have to depend on his family for support. We'll be needing permission from his family too before I can help."

"Whatever you do Anna, do not forget Grace is your aunt and she needs your help now more than ever." Kate said.

"We're here." Beth announced and a tall building came to view. Anna could feel her heart flip as she stared at the building.
