Left for her, she would have gone along with their boring tailor, but Anna was right. It was time she did something different. Something she wanted to do. The few days she has spent with Anna had been the best. She has found a sister and a friend in her brother's wife and her personal stylist. Not even Evelyn was a match for Anna when it came to fashion.
Beth realized everything she has been missing up to this moment. The last few days have been an eyes opener for her, Anna isn't the enemy. Infact, she's the most unproblematic person she had met in a while. They have bonded to well, these days and have gotten closer than ever. It's almost like she's known Anna all her life.
Anna isn't as bad as both she and Cara has thought. Anna would really complete their relationship. She's that friend everyone needs in their lives.
"Hmmm, it's nice but we need something more outstanding." Anna said staring at the dress. As everyone already knew, Beth is the birthday girl, it's only normal she gets the best outfit. The event wasn't an ordinary event, it was a bouquet party, hosting a lot of distinguished guest.
This would be the seventh shop they were walking into and so far, they have successfully picked good outfits.
Anna was at least glad Noah's family wasn't affected in her aunt's mess like they thought. Only Noah was affected and his family, slightly. For now, even if it's the most embarrassing thing, they were dependent on his family for their daily needs.
The Declan's have been more than generous to them, and she was grateful for it.
Still seated in the store waiting for Beth to try out another outfit, Anna's phone beeped. It was a message from her aunt. Right now as she stared at the phone, she wondered if she should read the message or not. It would probably be another of her constant naggings and blackmailing. Everytime Kate and Nari get to remind her that she's a useless woman. She didn't want to be in their company anymore.
She has provided the little she can, it was now time for them to fend for themselves.
"We need to hurry so that we can meet the doctors appointment. Mother jist sent a text, she said she's waiting." Elizabeth said and Anna nodded. She tried to hide her nervousness.
Today is the day the family would find out she wasn't pregnant. The pressure of them finding out the truth was already exhausting. Anna didn't know what to do about it. They sure would be disappointed. But she wasn't the one who started the unnecessary lies. It had all been Evelyn's doing and Noah just went in with the flow.
She knows she should have never listened to Noah and kept the truth, but she had been curious herself. It would be a disaster if everyone find out they were only messing with them. Matter like this was very sensitive to the family, especially since she really cannot have a child herself.
Noah said he would be here to cause a distraction, but she hasn't seen him anywhere.
"This should do Anna." Beth said.
"Are you sure you don't want more clothes?" Anna asked trying to stall time as she glanced around as if searching for something. She wanted to save more time till whenever Noah arrives.
"No, the scan is more important Anna. Knowing the gender of my neice or nephew would be the best birthday gift." Beth said as she paid for the dress. It was clear she was so excited about the scan rest today.
Anna gulped. Small beads of sweats already forming on her forehead. For if the family get so angry and decide to withdraw every assistant from herself and Noah?
They would definitely see her as a liar and deceiver. Oh this is what her aunt Grace used to tell her about her attitude. She always used to say Anna was a bad decision-maker and that one day, it might get her in trouble. Maybe this was that day.
"Are you alright?" Beth noticed the sudden tensed girl and asked and Anna responded with a nod. She was too nervous to speak. She didn't know whether to tell her sister in law the truth and ask for help, or just go with it.
Anna licked her lips as she contemplated whether to say anything or not. Noah has warned her not to say a word and to trust him, but where is he in all of these? He isn't even here to at least be with her in the mess he had created.
"I... I'm fine." Anna said.
"Mother just sent the address of the hospital." Elizabeth said as she instructed the sales rep to place her bags in the car.
"Anna, you don't have to be nervous about anything. The baby will be fine, it's just a little scan." Beth held her shoulder tenderly. She had noticed how tensed Anna had gotten since she mentioned the hospital. She wasn't an expert at all when it came to pregnancy but she knows pregnant women get so tensed and nervous when it comes to things regarding their child. There's always this unspoken fear in them.
Anna could feel her intestines twist from the result of her nervousness. She wasn't pregnant but was already feeling like she was losing a child already.
Where the hell is Noah when you need him the most?
She brought out her cellphone and sent a text, "Where are you Sugar we're headed for the hospital?" But got no response from him. Noah has betrayed her. He has set a trap for her and let her fall into it.
Oh how she'd kill him with her bare hands when she finds him. She gritted her teeth at her thoughts.
