These people are bad people. They have successfully turned her skin and body into something else. Grace's once pampered skin that was always treated with the most expensive skin care products was now bruised to the last of her. She looked so dirty and was already oozing smell of dried blood and unwashed body.
A once renowned woman, has been turned into an outcast in her own city by her greedy family member.
She screamed till her lungs hurt from the endless beatings given to her. Grace couldn't take the torture anymore, she wasn't built for these kind of lifestyle. She has tried to explain to this people, she tried to make bargein with them, but every effort was useless as no one listened to her.
She wasn't mad. Infact she's still a little bit okay even with the heavy drugs administered into her body daily. She didn't know why Kate told them she was mad. She had no idea of Kate's agreement with them. Each time she tried to make a bargain, they gave her that injection that stops time for her and make her forget who she is.
It is the same injection they have administered to the general and turned him worse than he ever was. Grace cry everyday staring at her father. They're not mad people, they have only been sent here by mistake.
When she couldn't take the merciless beating anymore, Grace quickly grabbed the chair she had once sat on and smash the head of the cleaner who was hurting her. The other women where taken aback by her action. "What did you do you mad woman? Getting violent now are we?" The head cleaner sneered and ran out of the room with the other.
It was obvious what they were about to do and Grace couldn't afford another dose of that scary injection. She dropped the half broken wooden chair on the floor immediately as she stared at the woman whose blood was now spilling everywhere. She hadn't meant to hurt her. She didn't mean to kill her.
Grace knew she had to leave, but she couldn't leave her father behind. This people will kill him before she gets Anna to save her.
"Grace, what did you do?" Meredith ran out of the bed, but she didn't make mistake to touch the other woman now laying motionless on the floor.
"I'm not bad. I didn't mean to h... Hit her." Grace closed her eyes at Meredith. Since she met this girl, she hasn't once tried to harm her, rather she promised to take her to Anna. Maybe not is the time.
"Anna." Grace said. "They're going to kill me, I need Anna."
"No, you need to run away before they come back Grace. If they find you, you'll be in big trouble." Meredith said and Grace stared at the old man laying calmly on the bed.
"Don't worry about him, I'll take care of him till you return, but you have to leave Grace. I'll help you out. Come." Meredith picked her cleaning agent as she peeped out the door. They had little time before the doctor gets in here. These hall is the most protected hall in the asylum because in here are where they keep all of the special patients.
There was only one way in and out and nothing else.
"Come." She held Grace's hands as she dragged her into the hall. Both women moved quickly as they headed towards the main entrance door when a few nurses, the head cleaner arrived with the doctor. Meredith froze from where she stood, her heart beating so wildly.
She has been caught red handed. She was so done, there's no escape for her anymore.
"And where do you think you're both going to?" The head cleaner asked furiously glaring at Meredith. She remembered this girl from the other day, and she has warned her to stay away from Grace and the general, but Meredith was just too stubborn to listen. Today, she's going to teach her a leason
"Cleaning ma'am, is there a problem?" Meredith asked trying to maintain her calmness. Any slight mistake could cost her her life, sanity or even her job.
"Can you not see the mad murderer behind you?" The other cleaner who had been present in the room asked her as she stared at Grace like she was a monster.
"You we're right, Grace has turned too violent to be kept with other people." Meredith wanted to speak out and defend Grace, but she held herself. Defending Grace would cost her a lot, plus, it's her words against her superiors.
She has witnessed how bad they provoked Grace and the moment she reacted, she is called mad woman.
"Let us hope she hasn't killed Kiki and she's still alive." The doctor suddenly said.
"Take her back into the room. You, go over to your cleaning post and clean up. This is not a beauty house it is a mental asylum, stay in your post or lose your life." The doctor yelled at Meredith.
"Where is the cleaner she killed?" He asked as they walked away.
The nurses who had arrived with the doctor all surrounded Grace and dragged her back into the room. All of her struggles to break free from them was futile. Meredith gave her an apologetic look before walking away. She has barely escaped this time, but that doesn't mean the next time would be easy.
She knew Grace didn't fight with the nurses to protect her. She was right, Grace isn't at all mad. The woman still had some sanity left in her.
Meredith hurried out of the hall. Today might be another fail, but there'll always be a next time. All she has to do right now, is find Anna Sui.
