No would be so mad she had offered assistance knowing what her aunt has tried to do earlier today. It was so frustrating to soak everything in alone. Kate was trying so hard to guilt trip her like it's her fault that everything turned out this way.
She didn't ask her to be so spiteful even after apologizing to her. For a moment, Anna wanted to believe her Aunt had really forgiven her and had called for truce, but she had been wrong. Kate was a gold digger, she would never do anything she wouldn't benefit in.
The endless text messages were too much that Anna had to turn off her phone. She would quietly read them later and then respond and explain things to her aunt. She hopes the woman listens.
"Anna my love." Evelyn greeted her daughter in law. The glow on the girl said everything she needed to know. The baby was really in good health and she could see it.
"Mother." Anna greeted hugged her and passed the flower in her hands over to her. Evelyn smelled the flower and smiled.
"They're so beautiful." She remarked. "And rare." She added.
"It'll be wonderful for the garden collection." Beth said from behind and then there was sudden tension in the room. Especially with her brother in there. She hasn't seen Noah since he locked her up in the dungeon, something shifted between them and she knew things could never go back to the way they used to be. Noah will never trust her or see her as his sister anymore and she was fine by it.
She caused it to herself. She did this to herself.
She had reflected on her self the past few days and knew she was wrong. She had been wrong all along. Encouraging Cara's gullible behavior was foolish of her, she should have never done that.
Anna is her brother's wife, and aside that, Anna was younger. She felt so ashamed for fighting someone who had done nothing wrong to her. Her impression of what celebrities and models act like had blinded her and made her judge Anna before she met her. Cara was her friend, but things doesn't always have to be the way they imagined.
They may have had dreams before, but that was when they were kids. She thought Cara's crush on her brother will blossom into something beautiful. She has tried match making them together, but her brother never saw Cara as a lover. Noah saw Cara as a younger sister and they may have misunderstood his feelings and action to be something else. When he found the right person, he went for her as fast as he could.
"Anna, I would love to have a word with you after dinner. That's if you're not too busy." Beth said and Anna nodded. She was tired of fighting her husband's sister too. She had nothing against Beth, and she had no idea why the girl hated her.
"Alright."
"So how the baby, Noah said you haven't done any scan yet so I decided to book an appointment with the doctor next week. That'll be after Beth's birthday party." Anna froze, her gaze met her hubby who still maintained the calm aura he had. He infact was conversing with his father like he hadn't just heard his mother's words.
Noah told her he had told them she wasn't pregnant and that everything was over. So why was Evelyn still asking her about the made up baby?
"Mother..."
"An appointment with the doctor would be great." Lionel said as he walked in and hugged daughter in law.
"How are you doing Anna?" He asked.
"Yes, that way I'll be able to know if my grandchild is a boy or girl." Vincent said as he walked in too. He had just finished an argument with his son and was glad things went his way. Vincent can be a foolish old man at times, but everyone knows almost everything they have today comes from the brain he had.
He lost it all when his wife died, and since then have not been able to find himself anymore. Rather than his business and empire crumbling, Lionel took over the company and made it big, but Noah had made it a hundred times better.
They were all so happy and filled with joy at how everything was going with the family. For the first time ever, the Declan's were peaceful, which made Anna wonder if they knew they have become broke.
Are they always so calm and carefree even without money in their accounts? Anna wondered. She could only imagine what her family would be like now, Nari and her aunt are probably fighting and blaming each other for their problems right now.
"Why father?" Lionel asked.
"I have names for my grandkids, though I'm confused what names to give which one." Vincent said.
"We all know you're bad at naming people grandpa." Beth said as they walked to the dining room.
"That's nonsense. I named you and your brother." Vincent defended himself.
"And how did that turn out." Beth said rolling her eyes. She didn't like her name, neither did Noah. What name can her grandfather possibly name her neice's and nephew's. Names of old?
"Your name is the best." Vincent defended himself with pride.
"Grandpa, you're old now, let the young ones name the kids this time." Beth argued. Anna who knew she wasn't pregnant suddenly turned a little anxious. She has no idea what game Noah was playing, but this is dangerous. His family had already bought the idea that she was pregnant, she couldn't even imagine how disappointed they would be when they find out she isn't at all pregnant.
She turned to Noah who kept smiling her way. He suddenly placed his index fingers on his lips.
"We can't keep arguing about stupid things like this. We're stressing the baby, let's have dinner." Evelyn said. She had just given the flower Anna got for her to one of the maids for safe keeping. By tomorrow, she would plant it herself.
