She has come in terms with herself and has accepted Anna as her brother's wife. One thing she learned while she was punished in that devil's hole for weeks upon weeks, was that life was too short to waste on irrelevant things. When she had seen Cara almost die from the torture she went through, she decided to change for them.
Noah can be the sweetest brother but can be very heartless too. She suffered in the hands of the guards, but Cara suffered more. She has no idea how her friend is feeling now since her parents wouldn't let anyone see her. They don't even know where they were, all they know is that their connections brought their kidnapped daughter back to them.
Whatever they went through was traumatic for both of them. But Beth is a strong woman. And after series of therapy, she has finally become one with herself. She had decided to drop the vile behavior towards Anna. If Noah loves her so much, then she would.
Cara might never accept the truth, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't try to talk to her or tell her the truth when necessary. They all just have to accept Noah is a married man now, and that he loves his wife so dearly. He would never leave her no matter what.
"The night sky looks peaceful." Beth started her conversation as she placed her soft palm on the railings. She had invited Anna to her bedroom for the first time.
"It's always peaceful on happy days." Anna said. But when the world is against you, the peaceful stars sometimes looks like they're frowning at you too. She thought. Her aunt's have always told her her parents were part of the stars that watched over her. She had held onto that hope for years till Kate crushed it.
That day she had sneaked out of the mansion with Nari because they wanted to attend a party with Mack Yong. But her aunt Kate caught her and scolded her, insulting her mother and crushing her childhood dreams and memory. Now Anna thought of it, her Aunt had been nothing but trouble from the beginning. Kate never liked her. She has always spend her days with Grace instead.
Kate scolds her for the littlest things and always tend to compare her with other kids.
"You're right. For weeks I hated the stars and the night sky because I was always forced to pray with it." Beth said recounting those torturous night. At first she had been rebellious, but when she realized no one was going to save her, she learned to adapt.
"Anna, I know I haven't been the best sister in law to you, but we could make things work out." Elizabeth said.
"I'm so sorry for how everything turned out. I shouldn't have judged you before I met you, or try to come between you and my brother in any way." She continued.
"And I'm sorry too Beth. I haven't been the best sister in law either. I should have tried to talk to you, rather than acting the way I did." Anna confessed too. Their fight was just miscommunication and pride from both angle. Maybe if someone had tried to work it out, they would have been inseparable.
"It's not too late Anna. We have the rest of our lives together. I just hope Noah will forgive me and would love me again like before."
"Noah loves you. Though he was a bit disappointed, he's over it now." Anna assured and Beth smiled. She was happy knowing her brother still loved her. That's all that matters. Having thought about ever hurting him had been extreme, and she regrets her action to this very moment. She will never forgive herself for doing the things she did.
"You should speak to him too. Clear the air and apologize, Noah has moved past everything that happened." Anna shrugged and Beth agreed.
"Have you thought of a dress for your upcoming birthday sister in law." Beth understood the sarcasm and smiled.
"I don't know sister in law. Though I don't want my 24 birthday to be loud, mother said it has to be." She was honest as she walked back into the bedroom. She didn't want so much attention on her, especially after the rumors flying around, but Evelyn had insisted to end the rumors. One thing the Declan's were good at was shutting rumors in their own little way.
Anna had a lot to learn and Beth was willing to teach her gradually. Anna watched her sister in-law pour drink into two glasses. One containing a little alcohol, and the other, just plain juice. She smiled. If only Beth knew she wasn't pregnant at all, and was a good drinker herself. It's one of the reasons Noah loved to spend time with her.
They spend most days together having fun with drinks.
"Well, we'll still need to get the best dress for you, from the best designers there is in the country. I have a few contacts, if you want one sister in law." Anna sat on the large bed as placed the glass of juice into her mouth.
"Yes, I'm tired of using our tailors anyway." Beth shrugged and came to sit on the bed too.
"Oh not to worry. My tailors and designers are the best of the best. We can go see them tomorrow." Both girls talked all night about random stuffs that they fell asleep asleep in each other's hands.
Anna had no idea she would find a friend in Noah's younger sister. Everything she thought about Beth had turned out to be false. Even if she wasn't a model or a fashion icon, Beth had so many wonderful ideas about fashion than most average people. But then, Anna realized she's the daughter of Evelyn Declan, why wouldn't she?
