Chapter 348 RECONCILIATION 2

1504words
After dinner with her aunt and Nari, Anna decided it wasn't safe staying with them tonight. Especially since Nari kept bringing up the news about her barrenness. It's almost like she was poking her trying to get a reaction. Her aunt must have seemed genuine with her apology and intentions, but Nari hasn't changed one bit.

But she would never give her the satisfaction she craves so much. She would never let her see her weakness and never let her know, her words affected her so badly.

Both Kate and Nari escorted Noah and Anna outside the door. If they had lived like this from the begining, peaceful and loving, then everything that was happening now would have been avoided.

"Are you sure you don't want to spend the night in your grandfather's mansion Anna." Noah watched the cunning woman very closely. Her new method is the oldest one in the book, drawing the enemies close before completely destroying them.

"No Aunt, I don't want to stress you." Anna smiled.

"Is it because of what Nari said? We're so sorry if she must have offended you." Kate apologized immediately still playing her genuine card very well.

"No it's not that. Nari has lost a child herself, so she knows when to go overboard and when not to. Especially if you killed your child." Anna smiled and Nari frowned.

"How is that my fault Anna? Bringing back my pain is very low of you."

"One hint to the media and you get exposed for everything. You don't want to start a war you can't finish." Anna smiled, but Nari understood the smile very well. Anna may seem easy to deal with and vulnerable, but she isn't as easy as they thought. She is the hardest person right now.

Regaining her memories slowly, was turning her into something else.

"Yes Nari, don't do that to your sister." Kate yelled at her daughter.

"I'm so sorry Anna, I didn't mean for my words to hurt you. I was only trying to help you out. I really do like you, I'm sorry for ever hurting you in the past either." Nari apologized. "To make it up to you, I would do anything you ask me to do." Nari said.

Anna didn't say a word and just smiled at her. "Of course, but the offer to get Mack back is still on in case you're still interested." Anna said. She could be as heartless as everyone else, yet she chose to be good to them. She chose to let them play with her.

She has no heart anymore, she has learned to be ten times more wicked than to anyone who has hurt her before.

"I... I'll do anything you want me to do Anna." Nari said, her words only made Kate frown a little. She didn't like the embarrassment Anna was going to cost Nari. Just because she's married to Noah and superior right now doesn't mean she could do whatever she wanted.

She would have to teach her neice a little lesson tonight. She would do everything to break her marriage with Noah and reduce Anna into nothing again. Even if Noah pretends he's not affected by her barrenness now, he will definitely fall when the time comes.

"Anna you talked about remembering a little of what happened at Janjan's bridal shower that day?" Kate changed the conversation quickly. No daughter of hers will ever embarrass herself before anyone. Not Anna Sui.

"It just came and I'm glad it did. Though I can't remember anything in full yet, I'm still stucked." Anna said casually. She had tried to remember more details of everything that happened that night but she couldn't. She even bled trying, fainted trying, but nothing came back.

She has decided to leave things that way. Maybe she isn't meant to remember what happened that night. Maybe she had killed the child, even if Noah said it's impossible and it's only a little she remembers. But what if that little was everything that happened.

"That's good to hear, justice must be served." Kate said.

"The sweetest part of it all. I just hope no family member was involved in the death of my child." Noah finally spoke. He had been silent all these while because his wife had asked him to be when it comes to her family, but right now, they were speaking about his child. The loss, even if a little confused at the begining, he was learning the practicing on being the best father.

He wouldn't want to turn out like his parents, and he knows they would do good jobs being better grandparents this time. But someone decided to steal that joy away from him.

"Yes." Kate agreed immediately, her body tensed already. Anna remembering everything is something she didn't want. They had been too brutal to her that night, they didn't go easy on her.

"I also want to use this opportunity to apologize to you Noah. I have been the worst person to you from the first day you arrived. I'm truly sorry and I hope we could be close in the future." Kate started seeming genuine and all that, but Noah is not the kind that buys things like this. It would take a higher demon to decieved this demon.

"Yes, probably when we find Grace. I hope we do that soon." He smiled making clear Grace was his favorite in law. He loved the woman like his family, that's why he would do anything to protect her.

Kate nodded, "Of course." She smiled. "Our goal right now is to find Grace and my father, they're my major priority." Kate wiped her tears as she spoke and Nari went on to hug her.

"Everything will be alright Aunt Kate, Noah and I will do our best to help find them." Anna assured her aunt before stepping into the car with Noah. She waved one last time as their car drove away.

Kate watched their car till it was out of her signature and once it was. "Collin get me my cellphone I need to make an important call." She ordered the butler and the man walked away.

"What are you planning this time mother?" Nari couldn't hide her curiousity anymore. She was angry too Anna had digged out her most important secret from the past. A secret she has been trying to hide. Now she couldn't release any articulate hinting at Anna's miscarriage because then, the word would remember Nari was once pregnant and that would do so much damage to her already damaged career.

It's annoying she has to shut up. And the stupid Anna isn't letting up on punishing her to before she could see Mack again. Nari has never felt more frustrated in her life.

"I need to make a call to the royal family." Kate said and started walking inside. But Nari didn't follow her,she was still trying to understand her mother's words.

Is she about to accept their marriage proposal to Anna? Was she about to accept their dowry?

But how's that possible if Anna is married to Noah? What is Kate planning?

"It's surprising to see Aunt Kate has changed so much. She even brought down her ego to apologize to you, the aunt I know will never do that." Anna smiled.sje felt at peace that her family was at peace again. It's something she's always wished for, especially seeing how very composed and together Noah's family where.

Though there was Nari, she could always put her in her place if she tried anything stupid.

"You think so?" Noah asked his wife to see her nod. He didn't know if he should spoil her mood with the information he had gathered or just let her live her fantasy and maybe find out later.

"Yes." Anna said. Though she didn't like the way Noah couldn't forgive his au t,but with everything Kate did in the past, she couldn't judge her hubby. He has every right to be mad at her, Kate had done the most disgusting g thing to them.

"You seem in a better mood tonight." Noah's hands grabbed his wife's face as he buried his nose between her shoulder and neck to inhale his favorite scent.

"I'm still worried about my aunt and grandpa." Anna confessed and noticed his lips stopped moving.

"We'll find them soon, there's nothing to worry about?" Noah assured her, but even if he did, her worry didn't go unnoticed again. Her mood seemed to have lightened up, but there'll always be that worry till she actually knows they're okay.

"But what kidnapper just kidnaps people without a call or anything?" Anna asked. She has been wondering the same. She would have said her aunt and grandpa had looped away, but where could they go without money?

She knows they have no money with them.

"Maybe, they're just too scared to call." Noah said. He was still conflicted about telling her what he knows, or not.
