She was right, they have no idea who's after them and who has been attacking them for months now. First it started with her grandfather, now her aunt Grace is involved too. Her aunt Kate is the only one she has left, it's time they settle their differences before it's too late.
"Come child, you should stay the night, I just need people around me,I can't stay alone anymore." Kate wiped her tears as she spoke to her neice.
"It's alright Aunt Kate. I hozld nothing against you really, I'm so glad you forgive me too." Anna hugged her Aunt. This is the best way to settle their differences, who knew things would end up like this?
"I'll call Noah and tell him I'm staying for the night." Anna said as she walked away.
More guest kept moving in and out of the mansion to see the family for the demise that has befallen them. Both Grace and the General's pictures were plastered in the walls of the city as a search team was initiated immediately.
The words had already gone out that the General and his second daughter, who were related to Anna Sui had been kidnapped.
When night came, a sleek black car arrived at the entrance of the Sui's proud mansion. Noah had arrived himself since his stubborn wife will not listen to him and return back home. That woman had conscience, one pity dally from Kate is enough to change her mind completely and trust the same woman who just almost killed her last week.
"Welcome to the Sui's man..." Collins words were cut short as Noah's guards moved him aside and he stepped in. He didn't have the time for pleasantries or interruptions, he was here to take his wife home and that he shall do.
Anna and her aunt were just about to have dinner when someone interrupted them. "I've asked Suge to post more papers at the outskirt of the town, perhaps someone there must have seen her." Kate said spreading her napkin on her thighs.
"You've handled everything Aunt Kate, I don't think there's much I can do anymore." Anna said and her aunt smiled back at her.
"You don't always have to do things yourself sweetheart. That's why I'm here..." Kate paused on seeing Noah standing before her. Nari quickly adjusted in her seat as she stared at him. She had thought she had no chance with him ever again, but after hearing Anna could never have a child, she felt like she had a chance.
If she finally seduce Noah, then the world would be on her palm. She would know how to use his power and Influence better than Anna or anyone. All she needed was patience.
"Mr Declan." Kate stood up. Anna at the same time turned to see Noah standing just a few feet away from her.
"We had no idea you were coming, why didn't you say anything Anna." Nari asked her cousin with the brightest smile. She knew her history with Noah wasn't a pleasant one, but according to her new mother, one can change their future however they wanted. The story is yours to do whatever you want with it.
"Please seat, join us for dinner." Noah didn't hesitate to sit on the chair provided. He wouldn't want to ruin their wonderful dinner especially since his wife has decided to be stubborn to him. She's always this hot headed when it comes to her family, and then realize he had been right all along.
He wondered what Kate might have told her this time to want to make her stay the night with them.
"I heard what happened to Grace, I'm so sorry about that." Kate tensed, but quickly regained herself. Just because he heard about it, doesn't mean he knows right?
"It's so unfortunate for aunt Grace. I wish she had listened when I told her not to go with grandpa alone." Nari said feeling sad.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Noah offered.
"Aunt Kate already handled it Noah. The detective was here earlier and their pictures have been postered in all of the city." Anna said calmly this time to see him nod.
"Really?" He asked and she nodded. "That's not a very effective method of finding someone who was kidnapped. What would the kidnappers think when they see the pictures around?" He picked one of the freshly plucked tomatoes and took a bite.
"What are you talking about?" Anna asked. She knew asking Noah for help was the best option. With his help, he would find her aunt Grace in no time, but what Anna didn't know was that the man before her already knew what was happening.
He had sent people to track the car that carried Grace and the general and they said it was abandoned by the road side, which means, another car completed the mission. Kate has been very calculated with her work.
It is either she has killed them, which he doubts, or has placed them in the mental asylum. Summerlane had a lot of those mental places, and those people will never give out information.
According to Bean, he said Kate had spoken about telling everyone they were mad and violent towards her, and that's how she locked them up for real. Noah didn't know whether to pity his naive wife blindly trusting her Aunt or not.
"The detective said that method is more effective." Kate said, still maintaining her calm composure. The last thing she wants is exposing herself. One thing they all know about Noah is his cunning ways.
"Yes, it is very effective. But what do you think the kidnappers would do if they find out the cops are after them? You're only putting your families life's in more danger." Anna panicked immediately.
"So what should we do?" She asked her hubby.
"You should have told me when you found out my sweet girl." He turned to his curious wife.
"I... I didn't want to disturb you." Anna confessed. Today has been the worst day for her, though she told Noah not to come with her when she found out, she regrets that now. Noah would have been the one to speak to the detective and saved them all the stress tonight.
"It must have slipped her memory, especially after the sad discovery today." Nari said as if trying to tell Noah about an information he already knew about.
"You don't have to worry about anything Anna, in sure your husband doesn't even care." She added. Noah who knew the game she was playing already acted all ignorant about it.
"What was discovered today?" He turned to Nari and the fool didn't get the hint and just went with the flow.
"You don't know Mr Declan? Anna why didn't you tell your husband, if anything he deserves to know." She said.
"I and my mother had no part in whatsoever happened today. But Mrs Roseline said she heard that Anna can no longer have a child for you." Nari finally said it. She has been willing to rub it on Anna's face since she heard it and couldn't wait to say it out fully. The maids who were serving drinks all turned to look at Anna astonished.
A woman who can no longer have a child in the society becomes an object of mockery. Nari has been looking for Anna's weakness for ages, and right now, she has something to finally hold upon.
Anna sighed. This would be the second time Nari was saying this to her. She would never get used to this. She couldn't believe it herself.
"It's alright Anna, it's a good thing we're sisters. My children will also be yours too. Plus there are many other ways of having children, if you can't have yourself you can adopt or hire someone else to bare..."
"That's enough Nari, now is not the right time to say this." Kate cut her off. Now she was doing too much.
"But mother I never said anything wrong." Nari argued. She was the eldest between herself and Anna, yet was acting like the little child.
"She's right mother. There are other ways of having children this days. Plus Noah and I already talked about it, and we're fine for now." Kate turned to look at Noah who only held his wife's hands. Nari was also astonished too.
Was this man willing to still be with a woman who can barely have a child? He was willing to just let it slide and accept her?
Impossible.
No man wants a barren woman.
"How sweet. You should value Mr Declan Anna, not every man would want a barren woman." Nari placed rice into her mouth immediately. Taunting Anna, would be the most amazing thing for her. Oh how the universe always plays out in her favour.
"You're right Nari, not all men would love a woman like Anna. But then Noah is different isn't he? He stands for what's right and that's what I admire the most about him." Kate added.
