Chapter 344 DIVORCE 1

1503words
Noah stared at his wife in silence as he watched her cry and wipe her tears. He has seen this scene play before and he didn't like it one bit. When he's wife is in those phase, she initiate divorce faster than a baby would cry for milk, like divorce is child's play.

"We're compatible for each other says who?" He asked staring at her.

Anna sniffled. She wished she could tell him about what she heard. Though Roseline had already said Noah was quite aware of it. He knows she couldn't have a child anymore, yet he still decides to be with her. But for how long will his love for her last?

She would be a subject of mockery to the world, especially people in the higher ups. Anna didn't want that for herself or for Noah, it's best she leaves him than stay.

"It's for the best sugar. Divorce is the only option." She wiped her tears again, not daring to meet his gaze.

"You can't always ask for a divorce each time you offend or disobey me. What was said in there?" Noah asked, his tone serious this time as his eyes maneuvered around her. This was beyond her disobedience, Noah knew there was something more. It wouldn't be the first time they were fighting so why does she want a divorce suddenly?

This woman...

"That's not the reason Noah. I... I don't think I'm the right woman for you." She said.

"Than tell me who is?" He asked.

"Anyone but me. All I'll ever bring to you is trouble and pain and make you hurt people. You need a good woman Noah, you've been the best husband to me and I've..." She paused, trying to find the right word.

"Been the best woman for me?" Noah completed but Anna shook her head.

"What did those people tell you my sweet girl? Did they convince you to divorce me?" He asked her trying to pull any string. Though he appeared so calm and as composed as always, he was losing it slowly. The word divorce always does something crazy to him. It makes him lose his sanity completely.

He remembers what he went through to find her the last time, he would never let her leave again. He has never loved anyone this much in his life. He didn't care if she loved him more or didn't love him at all, this is the woman he has decided to spend the rest of his life with. He would be miserable without her in it.

"This has nothing to do with anyone Noah. I don't know or care about any deal we signed, I can't do this anymore." Anna confessed.

"If you don't tell me what they fucking said, I'll turn this car around and find out myself." Noah threatened and her eyes went wide. Anna stared at him, and his usual calm demeanor was long gone. She couldn't understand the indifferent look on his face, but it somehow made her shiver.

She wouldn't want Noah going back to that mansion, who knows what he would do there? Anna bit her lips as she thought of something else.

"I killed our child Noah." She started but the man seated before her seemed unfazed by her words. This news was stale to him now, he knew something else was wrong and he was waiting for her to say something. Her losing a child should not be the reason she would ask for a divorce, should it?

"Turn the car around, we're going back to my cousin's mansion." Noah ordered the driver immediately and Anna panicked more.

"I... I don't love you anymore Noah. I know you're probably tired of me too." Anna confessed immediately, using theast trick in the book and Noah smiled.

"Love?" He asked. "How many times do I have to say I don't care if you love me or not. You're the only woman I want to be with. I don't fucking care if you're the worst human on earth, if you're the devil's fucking bride I would steal you away and kill him if I have to." Anna could already feel her heart skip at his words.

Noah cannot say these words to her, if he keeps doing this, she might fall even harder for him. She's never someone love anyone this much. This is insanity.

"It doesn't count Noah. I don't care, I told you the reason, you can turn the car around now." Anna said with a frown on her face. Noah might be hot headed, but that doesn't mean he cannot break. Something has to break him, something has to make him leave her, but what?

"And you want me to believe that? You can't even hold my gaze for long my sweet girl. You're always nervous around me and never hesitate to show me those pink decorations on your face and skin anytime I touch you." She blushed at his words. Anna didn't know what to do with this man anymore.

"You kiss me willingly..."

"That's enough." She said feeling so embarrassed. He was right. She loves him more than he does for her. She loves him with all of her heart. But that's why she couldn't stand the idea of hurting him. She would never have a child for the one man she loves in this world, then she's as useless as a shoe umbrella.

"I can go on and on." Noah said. Anna bit her lips, there is no need hiding anything from him anymore. It's not like Noah would agree on divorcing her.

"I can't have a child for you Noah, what good am I?" Anna finally blurted out, her eyes turning moist. The car suddenly turned silent and the only thing she heard was "Fuck." From the man seated beside her.

"Who told you that?" He asked.

"Aunt Rose, she said your parents are already aware of it." Anna confessed.

"Come here." He pulled her close to sit on his legs as he wrapped his arms around her. Anna didn't hesitate to cry into his arms all over again. She couldn't believe it when she heard it this morning either. She couldn't have done this to herself. Why does all of the bad things happen to her?

"It doesn't matter, we can adopt as much children if that's what it'll take, but divorcing you will never be an option." Noah said stroking the back of her head gently. He has never seen her this broken and for some reason it broke him too.

This is the last state he would want to see his wife in. If she ever is to cry this much, it should be on his funeral, not over a matter they can easily resolve.

"But what would people say about me?" Anna asked. "They already mock me now and accuse me of destroying the family. When they find out I can't have a child..."

"Shuuuu." Noah hushed her quietly as he hugged her tightly too. The society has made it a norm for women to always have children. A woman is labeled useless if she can't have a child. Anna had seen how happy Noah's family where when they found out she was pregnant.

Vincent has always wanted grandchildren, he has already named them. If she can't have any children...

"I'll figure that out. I'll make sure the news doesn't go as far as it has anymore. But you'll do something for me sweetheart." Noah raised her chin with one handand her red eyes met his.

"Don't ever initiate divorce ever again. Plus the doctor said you can still have a child, he never said you're completely barren." Noah said. Anna nodded. His words were meant to sooth her and give her hope, but she had none of that.

"Turn the car around." Noah instructed the driver and he did turn the car around. He thought he was sleek at hiding secrets, but he wasn't. He didn't want her to know, they would have just kept trying till whenever a miracle happens, but his big mouthed mother couldn't just keep things to herself.

When they arrived back at home, Noah carried his wife to their bedroom. He didn't leave her side till he was fast asleep. He learnt from Bean that Kate has shipped Grace and the general to an unknown place, but where they were is what he couldn't figure out. He has tried to look for them himself, but something seems to be missing.

It is because the car that carried them suddenly got missing.

When Anna woke up again in the evening, she was greeted by the sudden buzzing of her cell phone. It was an endless call, and the call had woken her up.

She checked the caller and frowned. What does her aunt want this time?

"Hello."

"Anna come back home now, I think Grace and your grandfather are missing, they haven't picked my calls since yesterday which is so unlike them."
