Chapter 331 PEACE MAKING 2

1039words
Evelyn walked from the kitchen with a few maids carrying trays of food as they arranged them on the table one after another. Everyone had hoped for simple food for breakfast, they didn't expect to see a full course meal for breakfast.

For days she has let the cook prepare their food, but this morning, she wanted to do it herself. She wanted to remind Noah of what home food feels like again, to remind him of the time they used to eat together as a family.

She had spent hours preparing this meal alone with the help of the maids and was happy with the result. The aroma of the dish alone had everyone on the table already licking their lips. They all couldn't wait to have a bite of the deliciousness.

Anna knew she was right, Evelyn is a great cook. Maybe in the past she was still learning, but right now that's why she had bad days.

"Anna, I made this bowl of soup specially for you and the baby, make sure you finish it." The maids placed a large bowl of soup before Anna and her eyes went wide. She's never had this portion of food before. She would die before she finishes it.

Maybe this is God's way of punishing her for lying to them. She wanted to say the truth now, but Noah will never give her the gift he had for her. His gift are not to be taken lightly.

"Thank you mother." Anna smiled and her hubby chuckled beside her.

"I made these dishes with love, I hope you all enjoy." Evelyn announced looking at her son.

"We will." Lionel announced.

"Oh, they're all filled with my favorite dishes." Elder Vincent remarked readying himself to eat.

"You know you're not allowed to eat everything father. You're not getting younger, your health is important." Evelyn said immediately and Vincent frowned. She always does this, she always ruin his mood when he's about to have a meal so that he doesn't eat much. But not today.

He wouldn't let her words get to him. He would enjoy this meal because his grand daughter in law was seated beside him. Her presence alone lightened his mood.

Everyone started eating so quietly. Anna didn't need to think twice before scooping a spoonful of soup and sipping it in. It tasted just as she had imagined. So sweet and savory. The meat used was so tender and chewy, along with the vegetables.

Half way to their breakfast, Evelyn Declan placed her spoon back on the table as she gulped down only a little water a dabbed her lips with her napkin. She had just finished eating and was ready to resume her usual complaint to Noah, maybe he would eventually listen to her.

"The meal would have been a lot more delicious if Beth was here." Evelyn started glancing at Noah who didn't say a word or give any reaction to her words. Her words meant nothing to him again, he was already used to it by now.

When Noah said nothing, she continued. "Cara's family are looking for her, what do we do with that?" Evelyn said staring at her son who kept on eating without a word to her. His nonchalant behavior irked her so much that she wanted to smack him with something.

"How do you know?" Vincent asked as he placed more vegetables into his daughter in law's plate. Anna didn't want to complain, she hasn't eaten anything from the dish Evelyn gave her and he was still adding more.

"I saw it on the news this morning. Hannah was in tears. I feel so bad for her because I know who has her daughter." Evelyn said.

"That's okay." Lionel tried to calm his wife down. Everyone on the table lost their appetite except one person. The man her words were aimed at.

Anna couldn't believe Noah has refused to freed Beth even after promising her he would.

"Who knows how my baby is doing now, Noah why are you so heartless?" She turned to her son finally. Everyday she brings this up in hope that he would change his mind but her son had refused to listen. Lionel has told her not to force him and that Beth deserves what she's getting. So many times he has seen her plot stupid things with Cara, but he never paid attention to it.

Evelyn was tired of begging her son. She would have taken matters into her own hands if only she could find the seal. She has no idea where Noah has kept it. She has searched his room while he's away with his wife and still found nothing.

"They should have taught her to never mess with the wrong people." Noah said placing his food in his mouth as he chewed slowly.

"You can't do this Noah."

"Complain to me one more time and your daughter will spend another week in that dungeon."

"Noah, you don't talk to your mother that way." Lionel barked at his son.

"Tell her to stop bugging me with unreasonable tales about her daughter."

"She's your sister Noah..."

"No sister of mine would try to kill me." Noah said and the table went silent again.

At the same time, Lurch walked back into the dining room to report the news he had for his boss when he noticed the tension in the air. Everyone was frozen in place, no one saying anything to the other.

Noah's threat are not to be taken so lightly. Evelyn knew this is beyond the issues with Anna. Beth had betrayed their family first. She lost her brothers love and trust the very day she tried to use the stick on him. Noah felt like if his sister can conive with a complete stranger to harm him, then he should not show her any form of mercy.

Lurch who had an important information for his boss walked gingerly towards the furious Noah who was still chewing his food. He whispered something in his ears and Noah's frown deepened.

"Escort them out and don't ever let them in here." Noah said coldly. Lurch bowed and went ahead to do his boss's biddings.
