Chapter 328 TRUE COLOURS 3
1011words
The only reason they had covered Kate's evil before when she hurt her father was because they were all scared for their life. She had threatened them and it's the first time they've seen something of such happen.
Everyone was too shocked to say anything and the most shocking of all was when she tried to blame Anna for what she had done. Kate has been acting really strange since she adopted Nari. They had thought the girl was good and that Anna was the wicked one because of Nari's fake story, but seeing her attitude now, everyone was having second thought about her now. They have all finally seen her true colours.
Nari had been the one to buy that box for her mother as a gift. She had been the one whispering evil things in Kate's ears about their father. She had also been the one to initiate the idea of hitting him with the box each time he complained about their unnecessary spendings.
They were all happy Grace has returned when she did because her presence brought so much hope for them.
"What are you shaking your head for, weren't you all here when he spilled the soup on me?" Nari asked so innocently that the servants were all shocked to see her behave that way. If they weren't even here when she hit the general the would never have believed she did those things to him.
Nari threatened them with her eyes when they didn't respond and everyone looked down. They were all scared to be in the bad book of both Nari and the notorious Kate. But one amongst the servant that were all in the room wasn't having it. The maid she had slapped earlier stepped forward.
"Miss Nari I tried to tell you it was too early for the general to eat or wake up but you didn't listen." The said still holding her cheek. Another slap landed on the next cheek and it came from no other but Kate. Kate slapped the girl harder than she has slapped anyone.
"How dare you speak to my daughter with such tone? Don't you forget your place." She yelled.
"She said nothing wrong Kate. Your daughter have no right to touch my father. He's the reason she has a roof above her head." Grace said. She has been taking care of her father for a week now and cannot recall asking anyone for help. She wants to be the one in charge of the general.
"You speak like father is only your father. Are you forgetting he's my father too Grace?" Kate said.
"You left him when he needed you the most..."
"And I regret that day more than anything. You've proven time and time again of your incapability of handling father. So don't blame me for leaving because under your care he turned worst." Grace said back. She was tired of the blame, it was under Kate's care that her father almost lost his life.
Seeing how bad Nari was treating her father, she now suspects both people might have a hand in what had happened to the general as Noah suggested.
"Why do you hate me so much Aunt Grace?" Nari asked again trying to act good. She knows this is bad for her, there's only so much Kate can do for her, but if Grace is to involve the other family members about what she has done to the general, they will not think twice of kicking her out of the mansion for good.
She had no right to hurt the general, but the old man is just too disgusting and she cannot stand him. Now she understood why Kate has wanted to kill him, she should have thought carefully before trying to harm him.
"You all saw what grandpa did to me. He hurt me first, he spilled the soup on me first and I was about to clean him when the entire thing fell on his body." Nari cried out like a wronged child, lying boldly before the maids. Seeing how Kate had slapprd the other maids, they couldn't say a thing about it. They only stood there, shocked.
"And the stroke on his body what happened to that?" Grace asked. She had seen the marks herself, it was all over her father's body, the bruise mark was as if they had used a stick to hit him, but she couldn't find the stick anywhere.
"I didn't hit him with any stick aunty the maids can attest to that." Nari said.
"I'm afraid father isn't in the right state of mind and is harmful to everyone, it's best we find a better place for him to stay." Nari initiated. She had been meaning to tell Kate about her new plans. Rather than trying to kill him with the hands, it's best they lock him up in a mental asylum far away from Summerlane.
They would pay the doctors good amount to lock him away for life.
*SLAP*
She received a dirty slap from Grace. "I have been taking care of my father for weeks and he hasn't harmed me for even a second. How dare you accuse him of such?" Grace yelled at her.
"She isn't wrong Grace, father had tried to harm me too. Maybe the reason he hasn't harmed you yet is because you're mad too." Kate shrugged.
"How can you say such about our father Kate?" Grace asked. "I'll get our family involved in this, I'll make sure everyone knows you're trying to harm father." Grace said.
"You two, take father to the bathroom and clean him up." She ordered two servants standing at a corner and they quickly grabbed the general and took him to the bathroom.
When they moved the general from where he was, Grace saw the stick on the floor...
