Chapter 321 A GLIMPSE OF THE TRUTH 3

Anna moved through the stairs slowly, her fingers touching the railing. There was not an ounce of memory about this place. In her memory she knows she visits Janjan in the past and they have fun together, but for some reason, she could not recall what the mansion once looked like.

Anna tried to jug her memory, to at least recall anything from before. Shen had warned them to leave him alone before the guest tonight if they found nothing, they couldn't afford to lose tonight.

She knows they have to find out about everything that happened that night. To know who had actually hurt her child.

"Anything." Noah asked as he walked with her, but she still recalled nothing. She shook her head in defiant feeling so bad already. As they walked to the top of the stairs, Anna paused and looked down from there. As she stared at the stairs trying to find a memory, she felt a had push her from behind, but before she could fall, she was caught by Noah.

The world Spun around in her head and she slumped against his hands.

When Anna woke up again, she was surrounded by a good number of people and it was already morning. As if noticing his wife was awake, Noah rushed to her side. "Are you alright?" He asked tenderly earning glares from the people in there.

This man, the most powerful man in the country should have chosen someone else as a wife and not Anna Sui.

Janjan didn't bother to check up on Anna as she prepared for the day ahead. Today is her day and she wouldn't let anyone ruin it anymore. Anna has ruined her wedding before, she would never let her ruin it again this time.

"I'm fine." Noah helped her seat up. They couldn't return back to their mansion when she fainted last night, he had only called the doctor over to check up on her. Luckily, the doctor said she was fine and only fainted because she was frightened by something.

Noah knew it was him, and he felt bad for it. Since she couldn't remember anything from that night, he thought that maybe if she relived it, she would be able to remember a little. But he had pushed her way above her limit which resulted in her fainting.

Anna stared at the guests in the room and tugged on her hubby's sleeve. "There are so many people in here." She said like a spoilt kid and Noah didn't hesitate to send everyone out of the room.

"My wife is fine now as you all can see. I would appreciate it if you give us breathing space, thank you for caring." At his words they all started leaving the room one after another in shame. The once that could not hide their mouth or reaction glared at Anna as they mouthed curses on her.

"We shouldn't have wasted our time, how ungrateful." One woman said to the next.

"Now I believe everything they say about her. It's time the Declan's send that freeloader out of their family before she destroys everything they've worked so hard for." The other woman responded.

Anna tried not to take their words to heart as they left. They were just speaking because they feel frustrated.

Once Noah was alone with his wife, he saw her hug him with tears falling from her eyes.

"Noah." She called with a shaky tone.

Anna couldn't control her tears anymore, what she had seen...

"Are you alright my sweet girl, what's the matter." Noah asked wiping her tears, but his wife cried more and fell into his arms. She looked so vulnerable and was unable to say a word to him as she kept crying and crying.

The usual strong Anna Sui he loves has now been replaced with this soft beautiful woman begging for his protection.

Noah didn't ask any question anymore and just let her sober. He couldn't understand what had happened to her and why she was crying since she woke up. She hasn't been up for hours and the first few seconds she recovered, it is with tears.

Anna cried for a while and when she turned exhausted she stopped and wiped her red eyes. Her eyes were swollen, nose red and lips fucked up, but she still looked beautiful.

"I remember Noah." Anna said staring at the man before her. She had remembered, that's why he had cried, Noah should have known. Noah patted her hair tenderly, "it's alright, you have done well." He said only to see her shake her head.

"No I haven't. Forgive me Noah it's all my fault." Anna said and he frowned.

"What are you talking about?" He asked impatiently with narrowed eyes. She said she recalled everything that happened. He hoped she isn't planning on taking the blame for what they did.

"I did it Noah. I slipped and fell myself. No one did it. Please forgive me." Anna confessed. She remembered what had happened. Though she only saw a little of the memory. She had slipped, she saw herself falling from the stairs but that was it.

"Are you sure you remember everything?" Noah asked still unable to believe it. With the evidence the doctor pointed out, he had said somebody pushed his wife, there's no way she did it herself.

Anna was tired of the blame. She couldn't bare the burden of fighting the wrong people. All this while the Shen's have been innocent, they have done nothing to her. Noah had only punished them because he thought they had hurt her but it had all been her. She saw it. It was all her doing.

She did not protect their child enough and they blamed someone else for their negligence.

"We have to apologize to the Shen's Noah, we are wrong." Anna turned to look at him.

"Don't make rash decisions yet, I still don't believe you fell like that. You're yet to get your complete memory." Noah said.

"For the Shen's I'll let them go, but if you get everything back and I find out it was them, they'll seize to exist." Anna agreed. Even if they don't apologize, at least she'll be able to sleep very well at night knowing they weren't suffering for what they didn't do. Maybe one of these days, behind Noah's back, she would come apologize to them.

Now she realized she had been wrong, she felt bad for ghosting Janjan. She deserves all of the treatment her best friend was giving her.

Anna and Noah didn't bother to attend Janie and Chalamet marriage as they left early under the excuse that Anna wasn't feeling well. Anna couldn't see herself celebrating with the same people she had cussed and accused to murder.

When they arrived back at their mansion, they were greeted by the angry Evelyn already waiting for them. "Where have you two been?" Evelyn asked.

She had been here all night waiting for their return. When she found out Noah and Anna had attended the Shen's party, Evelyn was furious. She couldn't believe they would be in the gathering of the same people that killed their child, the same people that almost killed Anna and hid all evidence.

"W... W..."

"I can't believe you Noah. You would lock your sister in that smelling dungeon for days without food or water but would attend the gathering of an enemy?" She barked.

"And slept in the home overnight with my wife." Noah completed.

"It's was a family wedding, everyone missed you." He handed his coat over to his wife and pegged her lips, leading her through the stairs as he prepared himself to take the heat from his mother.

"Where do you think you're going to Anna?" Evelyn stared at her daughter in law who paused.

"Even if your husband decides to be so stubborn and heartless it is your place to make him change." Evelyn said.

"But it seems Noah is changing you more than you're changing him." She said.

"I'm sorry mother."

"She fainted recently and don't have enough energy for scolding." Noah said so that his mother could let his wife be but Evelyn's eyes lit up. She immediately forgot she was ever angry and ran to hug Anna.

The last time she heard Anna fainted, it had been because of a child and she thought it would be the same this time even if she knows the girl has lost more than half of her womb.

"Oh congratulations Anna, at least Noah didn't hide it away from me this time." She said excitedly.

"Noah, you should free your sister so that we can all celebrate together." Evelyn jumped.

"Oh I need to tell your father and grandfather about this news. Anna come live with me quickly, I can't afford to lose my grandchild again." Anna and Noah exchanged glances, none was able to tell Evelyn the truth as the woman seemed so excited.
