"To see if you remember anything." Noah said shortly as he helped her into the car. He loved her without the memory, but what father is he if he cannot find the fool that took the life of his fetus. An eye for an eye.
He should be taking revenge on whoever had hurt him this way. He'll never let them go.
"You should have told me." Anna said as she watched him step into the car. He sat next to her and dragged his tie.
"There's no need to worry you over trivia matters I can handle." He said staring out the window. Noah had no idea his words and actions only fueled a certain insecurities in her heart as Anna wondered if he still loved her.
Did he love the old version of her better than this version?
How was she before? She wished she could remember a little of what she used to be like. She wanted to treat Noah with the same love and kindness he treats her with. He has been the best man to her.
Maybe those girls were right, maybe she isn't right for Noah. Since she arrived, the Declan family have not been the same again.
"If you want the old version of me, we can go to the hospital and speak with a doctor to help." Anna said to gain his attention and Noah frowned. His wife has misinterpreted his actions again.
"That's not what I meant..."
"If i can't remember who I used to be, I just want to let you know you're free to be with whoever you want. I won't hold that against you. You have been more than kind to me Noah." Noah sighed as h stared at the jealous woman seated next to him.
"Is it that time of the month?" Anna turned to meet his gaze with wide eyes and then a certain pink paint, appeared on her cheek. She looked so adorable like this.
"W... What are you talking about?" She asked unable to meet his gaze anymore. His little wife was embarrassed.
"You're my wife my sweet girl. There's a reason you have that title and that's because I love everything about you." Her neck turned red immediately.
"But..."
"No buts. There is no old or new version of you. Whether you lost your memory or not, you're still you. Still my silly and bossy wife." He rubbed her hair and she slapped his hands off.
"I don't want your memory back because of you. I just want to know who had hurt you." Noah placed his hands on her chin to lift her head to him and those wet blue eyes met his. "I won't rest until I find whoever had hurt you and our fetus." He said calmly.
"Was I really pregnant?" She asked and he nodded.
"And you were so happy. We both had no idea what we were doing but we wanted to love the child together." He said.
"Let's go back into the mansion, we can at least find out something. I need to also find out who killed my child." Anna said determined to find the person. She might not have recalled anything that happened, but she would have been a mother now if that person has not pushed her down.
"There's no need, you cannot find anything." Anna shook her head at his words.
"I can, and I know I will." With this, she stepped out of the car with Noah tailing behind her.
MEANWHILE,
Back in the mansion, a few other guest and family members still celebrated with the Shen's over their daughters marriage. Shen himself had seen Chalamet taken Noah into the closed part of the mansion and he had seen how angry Noah was when he stepped out. He smiled.
He was grateful to Kate for giving them the idea of refurnishing the mansion. Even if he wanted to keep his father's memory, he had to destroy everything for his sake. He had moved the other items to another mansion and replaced every little thing with something else.
It's not everyday you find a family member that detest another so much and would do everything to destroy them.
"You didn't have to take them there son." Shen said innocently to Chalamet. He had successfully decieved the boy and his daughter into believing he was innocent and had done nothing.
"If I don't show my cousin, how will he believe you did nothing?" Chalamet asked. All he wanted was convince Noah that his wife's people had infact done nothing to her and that that clumsy woman fell by herself. Noah is stubborn and he'll only believe if Anna says so, but they can't force her to admit to something like that. Especially when she hasn't gotten her memory back.
"You're right, thank you so much Chalamet." Shen appreciated his effort. Tonight, that beast would rest because there is no more proof that they had hurt his wife. But Shen's thoughts were cut short when he saw Noah and Anna coming from the door. His eyes turned wide immediately and he rushed towards them.
"Mr Declan." He said and Chalamet who was walking away paused to see his cousin return.
"I thought you left." Shen said with a loud chuckle. One could see the nervousness hidden beneath the funny facade he placed.
"We were, but I just realized I left a valuable jewel in the mansion and I'm back to retrieve it." Noah said calmly.
"You don't have to stress yourself over such things Mr Declan, my servants will retrieve it for you. Come have some more refreshments." Shen suggested as he ordered his servants with his eyes to go to work. But Noah had other plans in mind.
"So that they can change it to a fake one?" Anna asked nonchalantly this time, shocking the man before her.
"Th... Tha..."
"You don't want me to reveal your financial status and how desperate you can be for money." Shen frowned. He didn't like that lowly whore was mocking him. He opened his lips to speak back at her but quickly sealed it when his eyes met Noah.
She was speaking like her husband isn't the one responsible for his bankruptcy. Even if he accused Noah of being responsible, it would only land him in more trouble because he had no proof.
Shen was finally glad Anna had gone through that accident. Such a rude girl with losed mouth.
"Ahem, hehehehe." Shen laughed to cover up the embarrassment before his son in law and his servants. Shen is a proud man, things like this usually got to him more than anything else.
"I would never do such. I'm not so broke to steal from Mr Declan Anna. You used to be a good friend to Janjan, I'm sorry for whatever happened that night but I want you to know we're not your enemy." He said so innocently that she believed him, but Noah's hands touched hers and her brain was back to it's original state.
She should know how very sly humans are and how much they can decieved people. She would never fall for the same thing over again.
"If you're really innocent, it wouldn't be hard for you to let us in right. Please let us retrieve what we left." Anna said politely. At this time, the eyes of a few guest noticed them and they were already coming over. Shen couldn't refuse their offer anymore. They had both cornered him.
"I don't trust you two either, so I'll have my servants watch you as you go. You're free to do whatever you want." Shen said.
"But after tonight Mr Declan, if you find no evidence against us, I would demand you let this matter go and know your wife only lost the child due to her mistake." Shen said but Noah said nothing to him. He only watched the man closely.
"Let's go sugar." Anna held her hubby and they walked into the lounge. She looked around, taking in the details of everything in here. The servants Shen had sent in there stood by the door watching the couple keenly as they moved around the lounge.
"Do you see anything you remember?" Noah asked his wife but she shook her head in response. She has seen nothing she could remember.
When they reached the stairs, the servants quickly stopped them.
"Sir this place is restricted." One of the servants said and Noah smiled.
"It is, but your boss let us walk through here earlier, what if the jewel had fallen in here?" Noah asked and both men could not say a thing about it.
"We're so sorry for interrupting you sir." They said and gave way.
