"What use is it, she's not even worth your time Noah. That girl is just pretending to you because of your money." She said while trying to catch her breath. They have been walking around for quite some time now, yet she hasn't seen Cara around anywhere. Since they couldn't get Anna, the best they could do is get Noah himself.
When Beth arrived in Crownsville, she had called Cara to come over so that they could try their final attempt at getting Noah to be hers. Beth didn't like Anna, she wanted Cara for her brother and she would do anything to get Anna out of Noah's life for good.
She peeked behind Noah to see if Cara was ready for it, but she saw no one. She turned worried.
"That is up to me to decide." Noah said staring at her. He hadn't thought her action to be suspicious, he just thought this was another way of Beth getting his attention like the attention seeker she is.
They are now so far away from where normal people walked through. Since they both were familiar with this palace, they both know where they were. Whenever their parents fight, the palace was one of the many places they visited, but it was also their favorite place because it was free and spacious.
"I'm telling you Noah, you don't know what you want." She yelled trying to consume time before her stupid friend got ready to strike. Noah narrowed his eyes at her tone.
"You don't know what I want either." He said. "Now tell me what you know about my wife. Did you do it Beth?" He asked already getting irritated.
"Do you think I have the time to drug your wife?" Cara appeared from behind them with a stick in her hands. Right now, Beth regretted why she gave Cara this role, they would have hired someone, maybe a hit man that would get Noah for them. With the way Cara held the stick loosely, Beth doubted she could strike anything with it.
She gave her friend a signal to go on, but Cara hands shook as she approached Noah.
"So why did you tell me you know something?" Noah adjusted his mask. He didn't have to wear this today, but if he takes it off, he would have to stay as far away from his wife as possible.
"Because I was there, I and Cara were in your assigned room when three people walked in. Two being women and one man. They talked about plotting against you and your wife." Beth said still signalling her best friend to strick him unconscious. Cara nodded. She tightened her grip around the stick and swung it to Noah head, but before it would reach him, he caught it.
Cara's eyes went wide as she stared at Noah, his grey eyes were on her. "What are we, in a soap opera?" He asked frowning at their silliness. Did they really think they could hit him with a stick without him knowing?
What sort of madness is this? Noah clicked his tongue and stared at them.
"You shouldn't spend the rest of your life with that girl Noah, we are only trying to help." Beth yelled.
"Cara here is a better option, the best option for you." She added and her friend nodded.
"Did you drug my wife and try to set her up with a man?" Noah asked one last time, his tone having no sign of unseriousness in it. He wanted to know who had done it. He had suspected his sister but he didn't think she would go that far to hurt his wife.
"I would have if the other people didn't drug her first. They ruined our plans that day. And this is just the beginning Noah, it's either you leave that slut, or she does. I'll make sure of it." Noah felt the urge of cut off her lips but he didn't. He only smiled.
He has been trained from a little age not to harm a family member. Cara is his only sister, his little sister, he has given her grace for too long.
"I told you before and I'm saying it again, if anything happens to my wife, I'll kill her." He pointed to Cara. "I'll kill her family Infront of you. Then probably kill you too." Noah took the stick and started walking away.
"Beth I'm so sorry, I failed again." Cara rushed to her friends side. She knows it is because of her that Noah did not touch her yet. He let them go, even if they had just tried to set him up. They could kill him if she had hit the wrong place.
"It's alright, we'll find another way." Beth said staring at the path Noah walked through. Noah had been too quiet tonight to do anything to her or Cara. The Noah she knows will never let them go that easily. Is what her mother said true, Anna has really changed her brother to something else.
Noah is turning weak, which is the reason she has to go. That bitch wants to steal their money and destroy their family like she has destroyed hers. Beth could see through all of Anna's game. So she thought.
"What do we do now?" Cara asked. "Do you think he would come back for us." Beth shook her head. If Noah wanted to do anything he would have done it while he was still here. He had let them go so easily. Even if it seemed suspicious she wanted to believe it wasn't.
As they both stood there, thinking of another plan, seven guards suddenly appeared before them pointing their sword at them. "An order from the kind to throw you two into the dungeon." They showed a seal and Beth's eyes turned wide.
