"What did you do to him?" She turned to Grace, pretending like she was angry or cared, even if for a little bit. It is another ploy to get Grace thrown out of the hospital in other for her to carry out her plans. All she feels for her father at this point was hate. Pure hate. His recovery will do nothing but ruin the plans she has already. She didn't want anything to ruin her plans.
The only reason she had done nothing to him before was because of the undertaking Noah had forced her to sign, but right now, it didn't even matter anymore.
She would kill this old fool slowly. They will not even be able to trace the cause of his death.
"What do you think I would do to father? He has been like this since I arrived. He wants to say something but cannot no matter how he tries." Grace said as she watched him. She has begged him countless times to say something he refused, but he suddenly started reacting this way the moment Kate arrived.
It is no news, he loves Kate more than her. Even to this point, he still wanted to talk to her.
"Do you think he knows who killed him and he is trying to tell us?" Grace turned to her sister who laughed hysterically.
"He doesn't need to tell us when I already know the person that tried to murder father. Do you take me for a fool Grace? Did you all think I wouldn't find out?" Kate asked, menace lurking in her words and Grace frowned. Kate has always had an attitude of speaking without even thinking.
"What are you talking about? You know who hurt father and you didn't say a thing about it?" Grace asked her frown deepening.
"Now now Grace, don't act like you don't know either. We all know you two planned it together." Grace immediately understood her sisters words and defended.
"Anna would never do anything like that. Besides the night of the party we were both at the Declan's party so how did she hurt him?" Grace asked. "Just because I haven't questioned you two about father doesn't mean I'm stupid. You dare not push the blame on I and Anna Kate. You're being so stupid this time." Grace warned.
"But why shouldn't she aunt. A maid had exposed everything Anna did. And why are you defending her, are you also an accomplice?" Nari asked and Grace finally turned to look at her. The sight of Nari irritated Grace more than anything in this world.
"You're the last person I hope to involve yourself in an adult conversation. You and your mother are the only people to live with my father. Who knows if you didn't hit him yourself and you're not pushing the blame on someone else." Nari frowned at her words.
"You're just saying anything now." She said.
"Now you see how stupid you both sound? I wouldn't say a word if you put this much effort in your career Nari. Didn't you just lose the diamond crown?" Nari gritted her teeth at Grace's words. She would be the first person that has dared insult her about the award.
"Don't change the topic Grace. My daughter losing that stupid crown will not change the fact that Anna paid a maid to harm father."
"And what prove do you have of these. Any phone calls or text messages, or are you just taking the maids words for it?" Grace asked.
"It's believable, especially after her last visit to the mansion." Kate shrugged.
"What last visit?" Grace asked and Kate looked at her. "Oh you aren't aware?" She said so innocently.
"You have no idea Anna visited the mansion and slapped me and father. Nari wasn't left out. And it's all because of that boy. She promised to deal with us, especially grandpa, and maybe this is her revenge." Kate concluded.
"Father also promised to will his wealth to Nari, that must be the reason she must have tried to kill me." Kate said.
"All these are baseless allegations, you have no proof of anything." Grace said. She knows Anna so much, the Anna she knows will never try to harm anyone.
"It's unbelievable right? Because that's your favorite person isn't it. Well let me shock you, father's will is missing, and it got missing the night he was almost killed." Kate said.
"Ehh!" The general on the bed made a loud sound pointing at Kate. He twisted his mouth, moving his body as if trying to convey a message and Kate turned pale. Kate panicked, she didn't know what to do.
"Father." She rushed to the general's side and held his hands, bending it forcefully to keep it by his side. This is the reason she doesn't want him to recover, this stupid old man will definitely expose her. But she will never let that happen, over her dead body.
"Nari get the doctor." She screamed and Nari quickly ran out of the room. Kate held her father's hands, pretending like she wanted to say something and in the next minute the general shook violently.
"Father." Grace called as they both tried to hold him down. The doctor and Nari ran into the room immediately, he rushed to the generals side.
"What happened to him?" He asked but both women had nothing to say to him. "Please leave the room, we need to check him." Kate, Grace and Nari left the ward immediately. Grace paced back and forth as she waited patiently for them to be done with her father. She wanted to call Noah and tell him about everything going on, but Noah is so far away, he's probably still celebrating with his wife, she wouldn't want to ruin their time together.
