"I come in peace." He raised his hands in surrender with that smile that drove her crazy everytime and place her under his spell, but Anna wasn't falling for it this time. Her foolish naive days are truly over, being married to Noah had taught her how a real man treats a woman.
It's obvious Mack never once loved her and she was the one always running after him. The running days and one sided love is completely over. Her heart now belongs to someone else, someone who values it better.
"What do you want Mr Yong?" Came her cold tone. She was no longer angry with him for cheating, infact, she would have thanked him if he deserved it, for leaving her.
Mack stared at Anna in disbelief. Once upon a time this girl who stared at him like a disgusting monster once used to cling to him like he's the only man in the world. She would sing how much she loves him and even fight for him. Though he hated those days, he still wished they would come back again. He wished he had treated her differently. He was so stupid to lose a beauty like this. Maybe if he was a little kinder...
Then, he didn't see Anna as attractive as she is right now. When he heard she lost her memory, he had wanted to sway her and make her fall in love with him, but she's always so busy, and when she's not busy, she's with that man. Yes Noah Declan.
He couldn't believe she even got pregnant for Noah. Nari told him today while they got their massage. Anna really got pregnant for that stupid man Noah. Mack felt so angry when he had heard the news, but there's nothing he can do. Anna is married to Noah, if only there's a way he can steal her away.
Mack was just too excited he was now a free man. He's free from Noah's clutches, he couldn't wait to see everyone's reaction when they find out he's married to Nari. They would be shocked for real, but who cares. He's a completely free man.
"Congratulations on your win so far." Mack said. When Anna said nothing, he went on, "I didn't have the time to congratulate you and your husband properly because of how everything happened. But congratulations on your marriage." Anna almost scoffed at his gestures. Is this a joke?
"You can keep your congratulations Mack, I don't need it." She said. "I thought you worked for Eclipse, what are you doing here?" She suddenly asked and he blushed in embarrassment.
"I... I."
"Don't forget I'm still your boss even if we're outside of Summerlane. You don't speak to your boss like a friend, we're of different league." She said before he could say a word to her. Anna saw it fit to clear the air and put him in his place. A normal serving boy in her company should not try to be aquatinted with her in any way.
"I would appreciate if you don't speak to my husband that way Anna." Nari said from behind, shocking Anna. She couldn't hold in her laugh as she laughed out so loud drawing the gazes of the people around as everyone wondered what was so amusing.
"Oh I'm not surprised you settled for this. But good luck on your marriage. You deserve it." Anna giggled and was about to walk away when she paused and turned to Nari, "Let all hope you're not planning to use my families money to feed your husband because I'll personally kick you out."
"You have no right to do that anymore Anna can't you see? Even grandpa disowned you while he was healthy. You're just jealous I'm married to Mack and not you." Nari said proudly.
"You would think after getting married to a man as rich as Noah and whore like you would be satisfied. But we all know what you want Anna, come on don't be shy, Mack is here now." Nari mocked back and Anna just smiled as she listened to her. Being in love with Mack is the last thing she would ever do, but of course someone like Nari will never understand That.
Mack stood proudly next to his wife, he's just so happy she was defending him.
"Don't act like you didn't leach off of me too Anna. I supported you when the world was against you Anna, I can't believe you of all people would treat me this way."
"You supported me because you destroyed me. You and her planned everything that happened. You only supported me in public Mack, you hated me and treated me like trash because you were having an affair. You admitted to wanting my inheritance Mack, don't play dumb now." Anna spoke so calmly, but the hurt was still very much evident in her tone.
She wasn't hurt because she was still in love with Mack, she was hurt because the two people she trusted the most had betrayed and backstabbed her in the worst way known to man. She was stupid for even falling in love with Mack in any way.
Nari saw Anna's words has started to draw the attention of the other people around and she clenched her hands into a fist. She didn't like the turn of events.
"Why would I want your inheritance when I got richer?" Mack denied everything before her and Anna only smiled.
"Anna, you know I and Mack are so in love, why are you doing this? Why are you trying to destroy our image?" Nari spoke so innocently and Anna immediately smiled. She understood the game Nari was trying to play, she's played that game a thousand and one times and understood it more than anyone. But two can play the same game. If she really wanted to play the dumb innocent harmless girl, Nari will never be up to her level.
