Chapter 269 MARRIED COUPLES

1010words
After a long flight, Mack finally arrived in Crownsville, he immediately texted Nari of his arrival and that he would meet her at the civil affairs for their marriage license and registration. Mack couldn't wait till his married to her, it would do a lot for him.

There's no way Noah can harm him once he's Nari's husband and family. Anna will never let Noah humiliate her family. "I'll be right back mother." Nari who had been seating beside her mother suddenly got up. She knew everything her mother was talking about would not work, especially with Noah in town. Noah will never let harm come to his wife.

If she seats and wait for Kate all day, nothing will be done and Anna will get the crown. That's the last thing she wanted. Anna should never have that crown. It's enough she was better than her at everything, but not this, she would never allow it.

"Where are you going to?" Kate asked staring at the girl.

"I have to meet someone I'll be back before you know it." Nari left the room where they say as she walked quietly out of the fashion house. It was already afternoon, he had tried the new beautiful dresses and had walked for hours, it was time to do other workings that would make her win.

Kate had mentioned using bots to vote and they had called the company in charge of it, but Nari wasn't satisfied with it. She couldn't rely on one thing anymore, she needed a second plan, just Incase the votes don't work.

She arrived at the civil center and there he was. Mack was already there waiting for her. He looked so different from the Mack she knows, there was beared all over his face and he looked dirty in his rag like clothes. Mack no longer looked like the powerful man she used to know, he looked so different and... Poor.

"What took you so long." Mack walked up to her.

"Show me the contact of the person you have so that I can be sure it's not a joke." Nari said immediately through her nose mask. The last thing she wanted was anyone recognizing her and spreading false news of her meeting a mad man. Cause that's what Mack looked like now. A mad man.

"What are you talking about, do you think I would lie to you?" Mack asked with a frown.

"What do you think Mack?" Nari asked.

"I'm desperate to win the show tonight and you're desperate to get married to me because it would at least lift you off poverty." Nari said. "For this to be a winwin situation, you need to show me proof." She said.

"Listen Mack, I don't hate you." She sighed.

"Then why do you want me to prove myself to you. We've been through this already." Mack moved his hands through his hair as he spoke to her. Mack tried not to speak so loud because of the eyes of people they were already gathering around them.

"Show it to me." Nari demanded through gritted teeth. After much hesitation, Mack brought out his phone and showed it to her. Nari stared at the phone number with a soft smile, but she wasn't satisfied yet. She raised her eyes to meet Mack's, "Call the number." She ordered.

Mack stared at her in utter disbelief, this time the frown didn't leave his face, "And say what when I do call it?" He asked.

"This is a known figure Nari, I can't just call to say hi, I should need something." Mack said.

"You said he's an acquaintance and that you can help me. Talk about me to him." Mack shook his head as he smiled.

"What do you take me for, a fool?" He asked. "That's not the agreement we had Nari, I will not speak about you if you're not my wife." He made his point clear.

"Think about it, the final show is tonight. If you don't make you decisions now, unless you want Anna to be crowned as the next diamond."

"Let's get married then." Nari said almost immediately and Mack smiled. They started walking towards the receptionist and in no time, they were both out with the marriage contract.

Nari stated at the paper and wondered if she has made the right decision. Marrying Mack is the last thing she wanted to do, but there's nothing she could do now. There's always a divorce if things doesn't work out. Her mother would be so angry with her, but what is done is done.

"Come with me, I need to take you out." Nari said as they both got into the car.

"Where are we going to wife?" Mack looked like the only person happy about this marriage as Nari hasn't smiled even for a moment. She might still be in love with Mack, but he's the last person she wants to spend the rest of her life with, especially with him being broke.

"Don't touch me Mack. Just because we are married on paper doesn't mean I'm fully your wife. You better hope this works else in dumping you." Nari glared at him and then threw her face back to the road.

They arrived before a Spa and stepped out of the car. If Mack is going to be her husband, then his looks is the first thing they have to change so that he can look as presentable as always.

"Come with me." She ordered and her husband followed suit. He would have to lay low for now and then be the boss later. He already had his plans. As long as Nari stays being a Sui, he has automatically become untouchable as he's now related to Anna and Noah. He is now under the grace of the Declan's.

"Welcome to Bay beauty." The man at the door welcomed them, but as Nari and Mack stepped in they stiffened as their eyes met the two familiar figures they never thought they would meet...
