Chapter 210 RELATIVES 4

"Anna..."
"I work for Noah Declan. I am his model. He brought grandpa here." Anna interrupted her aunt before she could say further. She didn't want the news going around that she was married to Noah, she would have to force her aunt and Nari to sign NDA agreement soon.
Fletcher, who had been silent until now, stepped forward. "I should take my leave now. Please decide among yourselves who will stay with the general." With that, he began to walk away. He had done his part of the deal. Whoever is chosen to stay with the general would have to sign an undertaking under the guidelines of Noah's lawyer, stating that if the general died under their care due to unnatural causes, they would face life in prison.
No one knew about this except him and Noah. That's the only way he can keep his sweet woman at peace while she focuses on her work.
"How could you work for that man Anna. You know their long history with our family, this is why your father was disappointed in you." Martha said with disgust.
Anna was already feeling so dizzy. She hasn't rested especially with everything that happened last night and now she was facing this. She looked so exhausted.
"Aunt Martha..."
"Enough Grace." Martha shunned her neice. "I've watched you insult your elder sister for the sake of this nuisance. She needs to be cautioned for whatever action she takes." Martha said.
"If anything happens to my brother Anna, you'll be out of the family for good." Kate smiled. Just what she wanted.
You can't say that, Aunty. Anna has done nothing wrong," Grace defended her niece, her voice firm.
"She has hurt my brother so much that she has almost cost him his death," Martha accused, her eyes burning with anger.
"What proof do you have?" Anna asked in a lazy tone, shocking Martha and everyone else in the room. Her exhaustion was evident. She was tired of all of the accusations, she is as surprised as everyone in the room right now, yet these old people are looking for who to put the blame on.
"How dare you question your elder, Anna? This isn't what you were taught," Kate barked, her voice rising.
"You're not following what you were taught either, so why should I do that?" Anna's defiance cut through the air, and Kate gritted her teeth in frustration. Grace smiled, proud of her niece for standing up for herself.
She has been stepped on for far too long.
"You're laying a strong accusation, Martha," Anna continued removing the aunt title. She doesn't deserve to be called an aunt if she would accuse her wrongly. "I never once hurt my grandfather and I never will. Rather than focusing on me, why not find out who tried to hurt Grandpa in the mansion?" She said, her voice steady.
"Such a mannerless girl," Douglas commented, glaring at Anna. He had disliked her ever since his wife started complaining about her, and his disdain only grew.
Anna met Douglas's glare head-on. She had no idea who he was as this man wasn't in her memory. It is only now she realized she had not only lost a few memory but a lot.
"Respect goes both ways, Douglas. I have done nothing wrong, and I won't stand here and be accused without any evidence. If you care so much about Grandpa, you would have been there before the accident, why weren't you?"
"Have you decided on who would stay?" A nurse approached them. "Doctor Fletcher is waiting for your response, he has a surgery to perform now so you should be fast with your decisions before he becomes unavailable."
"Give us a little more time." Kate said politely and the man nodded. She has decided to stay and nothing is stopping it.
"We'll talk about this matter at home, for now we have to decide on who would stay with Gabriel." Martha said. She is now the eldest in the family and is not in charge of everything in the family. It seems she has already picked a side, and that's with Nari.
Grace only hoped her father makes it out alive. She needs to find out who has done this to them.
"I'll stay with him." Kate stated said as a matter of factly. She had been too desperate to stay with her father, to kill him quickly so that they could move on with their lives.
With her aunt Martha by her side, it would be easier to take everything her father has willed to Anna.
"You're not staying with him Kate, I won't allow it." Grace said with a frown.
"And why's that?"
"Father didn't get any better under your supervision, why should you be the one to take care of him?" Grace said. She wasn't okay with the idea of Kate taking care of her father. She had no idea who had hurt him, no one needs to be trusted.
"This is not something to debate about Grace, Kate will take care of my brother better than you would." Martha finalized leaving no room for any argument. Let us go to the doctor's office to inform him and know what is really wrong with Gabriel." Douglas suggested and they all started walking away, leaving Anna and Grace all to themselves.
They looked like the outcast in the family. It wasn't hard for Martha to believe whatever Kate might have said to them.
Maybe if she hadn't neglected her father all these will not be happening. But Grace knew she would have been the one in her father's condition if she stayed in that mansion.
"Let's go with them Anna, we need to know what they're doing." Grace didn't wait for her neice to protest and started walking away. She wouldn't let Kate harm her father ever again.
"We have a little problem amongst us, but it isn't something that cannot be resolved." Kate said to the doctor with a bright smile. For her plans to work effectively, she needed Grace to be as far away from the hospital as possible.
She then went on to say, "He's my father and as his oldest child, I would love to demand that you never let those two people in here anymore, at least not now...
