"He made it through the night Mr Declan, you were right."
The general really don't want to die yet, it's a good thing he knows he has a lot to do.
"Who was that?" Vincent asked staring at his grandson suspiciously.
"Gabriel Sui got caught in an accident that almost took his life last night, I just got a text he made it through the night." Vincent froze at his grandson's words.
What really happened? The last time he had seen the man, he looked so healthy and strong, how did he just end up in the hospital?
"What hospital is he, I need to see him?"
"I'm taking my wife with me, you can tag along." Vincent nodded quickly. He hoped Gabriel will be fine, they still had a lot of unsettled problems to resolve. He was tired of the endless fight and wanted things back to the way they were even if he knew it would never be the same again.
So many years have passed with grudge being carried from on generation to another. Even his grandchildren knew about his malice and his great-grandchildren could be born into the same feud.
"Let me get my coat and hat." Vincent started walking away, clicking his walking aid on the floor with him. While he went to get his things, Noah walked back to the lounge where he had left his wife to find her missing.
"Where is she?" He asked a maid walking by.
"W... With your mother master Noah." He started walking towards his mother's room. It's amusing she has found a new gossip partner, someone who likes the things she does too. Anna was fashionable, so is his mother. Though Evelyn had a daughter, Beth wasn't the fashionista her mother wanted.
Beth had her own style, but to Evelyn Declan, she's not stylish enough.
"Oh it looks wonderful." Evelyn clapped staring at her beautiful daughter in law. "I knew my jewel would find the right person."
"Thank you mother." Anna was grateful. The jewel was indeed beautiful. The ruby looked so rare, like the one Noah had gifted her. Both women sat in Evelyn's closet trying out the jewels she had forgotten about.
"Let's try this on you." Anna placed the necklace around Evelyn's neck and then she walked to the mirror to see how good it looks. It's one of the jewel Lionel had gifted her, she had stuffed it in here because she had no where to wear it to.
"Yes it is." Evelyn smiled at her appearance. She was glad she has found someone who appreciates beautiful things like she did too. Anna is really the best daughter in law she could possibly wish for. Kind hearted and beautiful, have high fashion taste and the best model in the country. And most importantly, the woman her son loves very much.
Now she could understand why Noah loved her so much. The way she carries herself with grace and elegance is enough to make even a dying man go crazy. Anna reminds her so much of her younger self.
"I'd be going out with the ladies someontime for shopping and I would love you come with us. Can you create a little time?" Evelyn asked.
"When is it?" Anna asked. She knew their movie shooting begins in a week and wouldn't have much time in her hands when that starts because she'll be too occupied with that. From what she heard, they would be traveling to different parts of the world for the shoots, which means she would rarely be around.
"Around this week." Anna smiled.
"I'll be available then." Evelyn returned the smile. She was pleased Anna had not turned her down. With Anna being a fashion icon, she didn't need a personal shopper anymore. Just maids to help them carry whatever they needed.
"I also have a favour to ask mother." Anna began.
"What is it?"
"Noah's birthday is in three days, and I don't know what to get him. Do you have any idea what he likes?" She had known about the birthday the day she looked for his information online and confirmed it with Lola. Since Noah has been so kind to her, she thought it would be nice reciprocating the same to him.
He was her hubby after all, her obligation, and she needs to care for him as well. She had thought of different gifts, but there's nothing her hubby didn't have. It's always so hard finding the perfect gift for a fucking billionaire.
For Anna, she could accept new diamond necklaces because those never get old, but for Noah...
The smile that once Grace's Evelyn's face fell and it wasn't because she was angry at her daughter in laws question. Anna's question only reminded her of how absent she was from her son's life when he needed her the most.
"Have I said something wrong, I'm sorry." Anna quickly apologized noticing the woman's change in attitude.
"No, no, you've done nothing wrong." Evelyn quickly said. "I'm not upset with you Anna. You've done nothing wrong." Evelyn smiled tears breaming in her eyes. She blame herself for being so selfish, but she was so young and wanted to love her life, forgetting she was harming her children's.
"It's just that, I don't know what he likes either." She confessed looking down.
"Why not?" Came Anna's words.
"I've done things that cannot be reversed Anna. I know you'll figure it out. My son now belongs to you." The door pushed open with Noah walking in. He stared at both women who quickly wiped their tears with narrow eyes.
Noah didn't know if it was women thing or a tradition for them to cry while they bond. He could bet they were both crying over irrelevant things.
"It's time to go my sweet girl, we have an emergency to attend to." Anna stared at Evelyn who nodded for her to leave. She hugged her mother in law on more time, before leaving with Noah.
