"I understand." The man in a nurse attire said calmly, tucking a strand of her hair bahind her ear. "She's fine now and will be leaving the hospital tonight." He said. "Do you know how hard it was convincing that man to keep her here? Do you know how much your recklessness has cost me?" He gathered a handful of her hair and dragged it downwards with a strong pull for her to yelp.
"P... Please."
"You had one thing to do. Just a little thing. We created the distraction, we made them stay far from the ward for hours." He continued his assault and tears fell from the side of Ava's eyes.
"I'm so sorry." She cried out.
"Shh... Shh... Shh... Now dear. You're forgiven." He said softly to see her calm down. "You're lucky Anna Sui doesn't remember a thing that happened." He said ever so slow and Ava couldn't have been more thankful for it.
This means she's free, and even if she doesn't get paid, she could see her family again. She was more than happy with the news, but the man's next action shocked her.
"But the boss is worried about you." He said.
"W... What did I do?" Ava asked warily staring at the door and contemplating whether to scream or not. She knew if she stayed here any longer she'll be dead before anyone comes in.
"She's worried the little bridie will tattletail on her." Ava shook her head, "No, I won't say anything. I don't even know who she is." She cried out.
"I believe you. I tried to convince her that you would... But the problem is... She doesn't trust you enough." At his words she screamed but before much words left her lips, the man grabbed her neck muffling the sound, before throwing her to the other side of the room.
Ava's head clashed against one of the lockers and she fainted. The strange man gave her an injection before walking away. He has done what his boss asked him to do, left for him, he would kill Noah rather than his wife.
Once Noah is out of the picture, Anna doesn't have any power and then they could do whatever they wanted with her. But his boss wouldn't listen. He/she says Noah is untouchable.
Untouchable how? Collins scoffed as he walked away. He was as vulnerable as a dog under the rain in this hospital, this place was the easiest place to kill the man.

Grace helped Anna in her new dress while Noah waited outside the room for his wife to dress up. She had insisted on him leaving since she didn't trust she was married to him.
Noah wasn't bad looking but Anna isn't a loser girl, she would never let any man see her. She was yet to believe her aunt about being married to Noah. She still loved Mack, and there's no way she would have left him for this man. Not in this life.
Is this all a prank ? Are they trying to get to her? Is Mack playing on of his useless games again?"
"How long will everyone keep lying to me aunt Grace, I'm not dumb." Anna said as she adjusted the front of her dress. Her back still hurts a little as she bent so she stood erect.
"No one is lying to you Anna. Your life has changed so much these past few months, we have been surprised too." Grace said as she led her neice back to the bed. How she had missed brushing her hair like she used to.
Anna bit her lips at her aunt's words, there's no way she could have left Mack for someone else. "Mack you can come out now, you win." She yelled peeking around but no one answered.
"Mack."
"Stop Anna, I told you this is not a joke." Grace stopped her before she screamed more.
"Was I drunk when I brought that man home?" She asked staring at the door at which Noah walked out from. "No." Grace's response was casual as she removed a few hair strands from the brush.
Anna had gotten so lean since she hasn't eaten much in two weeks. Grace felt pity for the girl, whoever had tried to kill her neice should be ready to face the consequences of their actions.
"Are you sure grandpa didn't force me into marriage with that man?" Her words were like whisperers to her aunt's ear making the woman laugh for the first time in weeks.
"No Anna, you brought him yourself and even forced us to like him..." Grace didn't want to say much. A lot has happened, she couldn't tell her their family had disowned her because of her marriage. Anna in this state wouldn't think twice of leaving Noah.
She would let the memories come naturally. Who knows, maybe God wants it forgotten.
"What happened to me?" Grace sighed as the brushed the strands of her niece's hair. "Death." Came Grace's words.
"Someone wanted you dead." Grace said.
"How?"
"You'll understand better when we leave this place Anna. You don't have to worry about any of that for now." Grace smiled.
"Where is Janjan, she should be here." Anna asked her aunt who paused and started packing her bags instead.
"Let's go child, we'll talk about everything when we get home."
A knock was heard on the door, "Come in." Noah stepped in at the command. He pushed a wheel chair into the room. Anna frowned on seeing Noah, she didn't like him one bit for no just reason. This man had defiled her today, placing his head on her thighs. He is a user.
She wanted to see Mack and talk to him, perhaps they could settle whatever had happened between them.
It couldn't be that bad could it?
