Chapter 151 STILL IN COMA

1513words
A week passed since Anna had been in coma. While her family was released from jail, Nari, held a conference meeting clearing her name from the incident that occurred. Though she gave little information about Anna, people still found her actions suspicious.

Janjan and the entire Shen's family return to their mansion with Janjan's wedding date moved ahead. She was prepare for the wedding all over again. It's a good thing whatever happened to her friend hadn't affected her marriage. She was still unable to see Anna, Noah wouldn't let anyone in and she was thankful to be able to use that as an excuse cause she didn't have the boldness of seeing Anna anymore.

As Janjan sat in her room, staring at the wedding invitations, she couldn't help but feel guilty. Somehow she felt like everything that happened was her fault. She had always been close to Anna, Anna will always be her best friend, but she doubts they would ever be as close as they used to. Especially after everything that happened.

Anna might never forgive her for killing her child, and her family will never forgive the Declans for locking them up, even if they were a family now. Noah Declan had promised to release them a day after their imprisonment, but he had somehow kept them there for a week longer and even threatened to lock them up again.

"What are you still doing on the bed, Miss Janie? Your father is getting impatient." A maid stepped into her room, and Janjan picked up her purse from her side. The maid helped arrange the cards into the box and carried it out of the room.

Janjan followed behind the maid as she walked through the halls. Upon arriving at the grand stairs, she sucked in a breath, recalling the incident from a week ago. The memory of Anna's fall haunted her, a gnawing guilt eating away at her conscience. She paused at the top of the stairs, gripping the banister tightly.

When Janjan heard the scream she had also rushed out of her room only to find Anna on the floor in pool of blood. Her body shook with fear, she couldn't move or speak until her mother came and took her away.

"Miss Janie?" the maid called softly, noticing her hesitation.

"I'm coming," Janjan replied, forcing herself to move. She descended the stairs slowly, each step heavy with the weight of her thoughts.

As she reached the bottom, "How did you get rid of it? I heard from Kate that the tape is gone." Janjan overheard her stepmother's voice coming from the lounge where they waited for her.

"I've asked my assistant to burn it down so that no one will find it. It'll be bloody if that man finds out about it," Shen said to his wife. "What was she doing here anyway?" he asked, and at that moment, the door opened with Janjan stepping in.

The room fell silent as Janjan entered, her eyes meeting her father's eyes.

"About time," he muttered. "We need to finalize the wedding arrangements. The date has been moved up, and there's much to do."

Janjan nodded, following her father into the study-room where the wedding planner awaited. Her mind, however, remained on Anna. She wondered if she would ever be able to look her friend in the eye again, or if the shadow of this incident would forever taint their relationship.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Noah was in a heated discussion with the doctors. "I need to know if there's anything else we can do," he demanded. "She has to wake up." He was tired of waking every morning to see his wife in this condition day after day. He couldn't take it anymore.

"Mr. Declan," the doctor said calmly, "we are doing everything we can. Sometimes, it's just a matter of time."

Noah clenched his fists, frustration boiling over. "Time is something I can't afford. She deserves better than this."

"She is strong," the doctor assured him. "We just have to wait and see."

Noah nodded reluctantly, knowing that he had to be patient, but the waiting was tearing him apart.

In the meantime, the media continued to speculate wildly. Nari's press conference had only fueled the rumors, and reporters hounded the hospital for any scrap of news. The public was hungry for details, and every day brought new theories and accusations.

Grace, who had become a regular fixture in the waiting room, overheard the whispers and the gossip. She wished she could silence them all, but she knew that only Anna waking up would quell the storm.

The Sui family, still seething from their imprisonment. While the General went about hus day Kate and her new daughter decided to throw an official welcoming party to let the world and elite know Nari is now a Sui.

"What do you think about this fit?" Kate asked her daughter as they both stared at different designs in the magazine they held. She had never loved fashion until Nari arrived. It was as if Nari was the child she had always longed for, but instead, she was stuck with Anna.

"They're astonishing, especially this blue dress. I heard it's not even put out for the runway," Nari said.

"That's amazing. We'll get it then. We'll also have to make sure nobody else in the world has them," Kate smiled. She turned to their personal shopper and pointed at the dresses they wanted. "I want it before the event this week. We need to look our best."

The personal shopper nodded, making a note of the specific designs. "I'll make sure these are custom-made and exclusive to you both," she assured them before leaving the room to place the orders.

Kate turned to Nari, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "This party is going to be spectacular. We'll show everyone that you're the true star of this family."

Nari nodded, a satisfied smile spreading across her face. "I can't wait."

"I have a meeting with George Borne later today, I need to attend that." Kate said as if realizing herself.

"Can I come with you?"

"No, I can't expose you to those industry vultures, you saw what he did to your neice, he wouldn't dare try it with you anyways but we can't take risks." Kate said.

"I understand. Just be careful, Mother," Nari said, her tone filled with genuine concern.

Kate gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about me, darling. Focus on preparing for the party this week, everything has to be perfect." With that, she exited the mansion, leaving Nari to her thoughts.

Nari settled back into her chair, her phone still in hand. She scrolled through the numerous articles and social media posts that continued to buzz about Anna Sui. It had been seven days since Anna had been hospitalized, and the public's interest hadn't waned. Every day brought new speculations and theories about what had happened to her even if there were no concert answers.

No one knew Anna's real estate except her. She had heard from her spying nurse that Anna wasn't getting any better and that she might never wake up.

The nurse had informed her that the doctor didn't know how to tell Noah that Anna may be stuck in coma for the rest of her life and the best they can do now is kill her to end her misery. She had hit her head so hard that day, if she ever wakes up she might lose most of her memories.

Nari couldn't thank whoever have done this Anna enough. Not only will she be on top again, she could finally have Noah for herself. She would replace Anna in every aspect of her life, she would steal everything Anna thought she had and make it mine.

As Janjan stepped out of her father's study she went ahead to meet her step mother after a long conversation with the event planner. They had a lot of damages to fix, damages Noah had cost to the family.

They were not only short on cash at the moment but had lost the support of a lot of investors due to their arrest news. It's a good things Chalamet was rich enough to cover the cost of everything.

Today, they're meant to visit as much prestigious families as possible, inviting them to her wedding once more. The last date had been a disaster since Noah arrested them making so many families frown at them.

"Smile Janjan, you cannot kill yourself over what had happened to that girl. It's not your fault you know. You should move on like everyone else." Janie frowned at her step mother's words.

"Anna is my friend, I cannot just move on from everything that happened." Mia sighed staring at her stubborn daughter.

"Then at least smile. It's not like she's waking up ever again." Mia said to her step daughter, a big smile hanging on her lips.

"What do you mean by that?" Janjan asked staring at her step mother.
