"I'm here for Anna Sui." General Sui said calmly.

"I'm sorry sir, but there is no Anna Sui in our hospital." The receptionist said.

"What do you mean there is no Anna Sui? It was all over the news that my granddaughter was brought in here." The general frowned.

"Who are you to her again?" The receptionist asked.

"I am her grandfather and I demand to see my granddaughter." General Sui raised his voice a little finding everything they did suspicious. Where could they have kept her? Was she okay?

"I'm so sorry sir, but no family member is allowed to see miss Sui for now." The receptionist said apologetically. Noah had given them orders not to let anyone see Anna, not even their family members.

They were finally able to chase the reporters away stating that Anna Sui needed a little space with her family. Though they said she was now doing okay, everyone still wanted to see her speak to believe she was really fine.

"What do you mean no family member is allowed, I want to see my granddaughter and I demand to see her now." The general demanded turning impatient.

"Yes where's my daughter in law, you people cannot keep her away from me." Elder Vincent arrived almost immediately. He had only just heard the news from Evelyn tonight as she discussed with Lionel. Their family was in grief since they had not only almost lost Anna, but their grandchild. Anna was pregnant.

The Shen's killed his first grandchild and what made them more frustrated is the fact that they could not see Anna.

The receptionist's face flushed with stress as she struggled to maintain her composure. "Sir, please understand, these are strict orders from Mr. Declan. He wants to ensure Miss Sui's recovery without any disturbances."

"Don't bother, I'm leaving anyway. I cannot stay in the same room with a murderer." The general tapped his walking stick on the floor as he used it to support his movement.

"Kettle calling pot black. You have no right to give names to people." Vincent clapped back at him.

"Ehm please sir's this is a hospital and we don't need the noise. There are sick patient in here." The receptionist tried as much as she could to be polite with them.

"Father." Grace's voice sliced through the silent air and the general turned to look at her. "Are you here to see Anna?" Grace asked a small smile forming on her lips. She was right, her grandfather still loved Anna even if he had disowned her. It's nothing surprising, Anna used to be his favorite daughter anyway.

"I came to take you back home. Your sister has been locked up in a cell, yet here you are caring for someone who's not a part of the family. I wasn't joking when I said I wouldn't mind disowning you too," the general said coldly, and the smile on Grace's face fell.

"If you wanted me, you could have easily called," Grace retorted, her voice trembling with both anger and sorrow.

"And what use is that? Would you return home if I were to call you?" The general's voice was sharp, filled with frustration and disappointment. He still loved his daughter Anna, but she needed to be punished. He won't let her get away with anything anymore.

"Anna was involved in an accident, Father. She lost her child and almost her life, yet you feel nothing?" Grace's eyes brimmed with tears, her heart aching at her father's lack of empathy.

The general's expression hardened. "Your niece married an enemy of the family and got pregnant by him, and you want me to celebrate that? It's a good thing she's gotten rid of that evil. Let's hope she finally comes back to her senses."

Grace's face flushed with anger. "How can you be so heartless? Anna is your granddaughter. One mistake doesn't make her less of a Sui."

"Oh it does, just like it would do to you too if I don't see you in the car in the next five minutes." He threatened and started walking away.

"Don't you dare speak about my grandchild that way, Gabriel. You should be ashamed of yourself, punishing your granddaughter for your sins. I hope she never forgives you for it, and I'll make sure of that," Vincent said, his voice trembling with fury as the general walked away.

Gabriel Sui couldn't believe he was seeing Vincent tonight. He had hoped only Anna, Grace, and Noah would be there. The encounter with Vincent added salt to the wound of an already bitter evening.

"Where is she?" Vincent rushed to Grace's side, his concern evident.

"She's been moved to a different room," Grace responded as they started walking away from the lobby. She was deeply hurt by her father's actions, and it pained her that she felt powerless to change his mind.

"Is she getting any better?" Vincent asked.

Grace nodded, though her expression remained somber. "She's stable for now, though she's yet to regain consciousness," she sighed. "The doctors are doing everything they can, but it's going to be a long road to recovery."

As they approached Anna's new room, they could see a few maid stepping out of the room with trays of towels stained with blood in their hands. "Her surgery begins tomorrow, so far they said she didn't sustain any major injury in her head. She has a few broken bones that would heal quickly but that's it." Grace said.

"Didn't the fall affect her womb?" Vincent asked.

"I doubt, but an all round check up will be performed tomorrow. Let's hope there nothing of such." Grace tried to act tough even if she's the weakest person in the building. She knows she has to be strong for Anna. They've gone through this before but when she was younger.

Everyone thought she would die, but Anna had shocked them all.

As both people stepped in, they saw Noah sitting next to his wife as the doctor spoke to him. "... She hadn't sustain serious injury." The doctor said with a smile.

"When do you think she'll wake up?" Noah asked.

"When she's ready. Any day from now, she'll wake up again."

"Thank you." Noah thanked the man.

"I should probably take my leave now." As his eyes followed the doctor, they fell on his grandfather and wife's aunt that said she wanted to go out for fresh air since she couldn't watch them work on her neice.

"You should be at home grandpa." Noah said coldly as he stared at the old man who glared at his grandson. "You think you're all grown now and can handle everything on your own?" Elder Vincent clicked his tongue as he stared at his grandson.

"A man has to fend for his family, you thought me that." Noah said nonchalantly pressing his lips on his wife's hands.

"How's she?" Vincent got close to his daughter in law and almost cried at the state she was in, but he held himself. Who did this to his beautiful daughter in law? Who dare hurt her?

"Stable for now. She's lucky not to have sustained any injury during the fall. She should be awake very soon." Noah stared at her pale figure. Anna's skin still had stains of blood on them and he knew she needed a quick bath.

"I'll get the nurse to arrange bath water for her. You should go back home grandpa, there's not much to see or so anymore." Noah said as he was walking out.

"Nonsense Noah, I'm staying till my daughter in law wakes up." Vincent glared at his grandson trying to keep him away from the girl. He loved Anna like a daughter, he was equally hurt that she had been injured this way.

"You can see her to tomorrow when you arrive, come with me let's get you home." He said calmly but the elder was stubborn about it.

"Come grandpa, I'll take you home." Noah said and the old man followed him out. There was no place in there for him to sleep, and even if there were, the elder couldn't possibly sleep in the hospital. As much as he wanted him here, he didn't want him to suffer.

Elder Vincent was already at the risk of catching a disease according to the doctor because of his weak immune system.

As both men left the room, "Have you doing out who did it to her?" Vincent asked his grandson dropping the weak old man act. One thing he can never do is let anyone play with his family. He would go to the ends of the world for them.

He has already sacrificed so much for them and would do it again if he has to.

"They're all chanting the same thing. They're innocent, and there's no proof to say other wise." Noah shrugged.

"So you would let it go?" Vincent asked staring at his grandson. Noah had asked for the security footage but he hasn't gotten a word from the men Paul hired.

It's obvious the Shen's must have hidden the camera, but why?

Who are they protecting?

"No."
