"Thank you very much Paul." Grace smiled at him. He had been the same man that helped her the last time she was at their company to see Noah and Anna. When the younger girls there looked down on her, this man had come to her rescue.
Grace rubbed her sweaty hands on her skirt as she opened the door and stepped in. She was greeted by the beeping sound of the monitors in the room. She could see all of the multiple wires connected to her neice's nose and mouth.
"How is she doing?" Grace asked Noah who sat next to his wife, her hands in his. She got closer to Anna and a tiny gasp escaped her lips.
"Stable." Noah said.
"The doctor had spoken about surgery." Grace said calmly. She was being very careful with her speech, trying not to offend the man before her. She had seen everything Noah did in the reception and to the doctors.
"It'll be conducted tomorrow." He said for the old woman to sniff. One sniff turned into a whimper as tears started falling down Grace's face. "I had been so scared we would lose her." Grace said wiping her tears with the back of her hands. Noah tried to be generous with passing her a kerchief even if he was not the mood to be. He pulled her close to hug her patting her back gently.
"That's enough. She's stable now." He hummed.
"It's just... Anna has gone through so much as a child, seeing her go through the same pain as an adult really hurts." Grace said crying into Noah's arms. She couldn't stand her neice being hurt, she just couldn't take it. Anna was like a daughter to her, the little angel that had narrowly escaped death at that time.
The light to their dark world at the darkest point of their lives. She was HOPE when they had none. She couldn't understand how fast Kate and her father had forgotten everything that happened.
The general must have heard about her, yet, he still has refused to visit.
"I know." Noah patted her back gently as he consoled her. It's funny he's the one consoling someone else when his entire family almost got stolen away from him.
"You would have been the best godmother." Noah said to Grace for her to look up at him with wide eyes. She might have been slow in some areas of her life, but she could clearly understand what Noah had just said.
"S... She was pregnant?" Grace asked with wide eyes and Noah nodded.
"We decided to keep it a secret. It turns out the fall had been so heavy that our child couldn't survive it." Grace covered her lips with her palm, her eyes already staring to swell from all of the crying.

"You better let us go, we're not criminals to be in here." Kate yelled from her cell at the police men standing guard next to the cell. She had no idea why she was even in here.
"Hey woman, you better keep quiet else I'll have to slap you again." One of the police men threatened and Kate glared at the man stylishly.
It's not her fault Anna was hurt and lost the useless child Nari had told her about. She couldn't believe her neice was pregnant for the Declan boy after everything they told her about them. Anna is a stubborn child and deserve everything coming her way.
Oh Noah Declan. Both he and her neice will surely pay for this disrespect when they get out.
"Do you know who I am?" Kate challenged the man turning him upset and he clicked his tongue in dismay.
"We know who you are. You've said it like a thousand times already. Kate Sui. Of what use is that name?" Another guard asked shocking her.
"Listen woman, this would be your last warning. It seems you don't know where you are. You're in a cell and in here, those names are nothing but letters." He pointed his rod at her and Kate pursed her lips as she stared at him.
For the first time in her life, she was genuinely scared for her life.
"A... Are you okay Nari?" Kate walked back into the cell, pretending to call on her daughter just to feign toughness before those people.
"Yes mum." Nari responded. "I'ts just, I can't feel my skin with all of these mosquito bites." Nari said slapping her skin. The prison isn't really a place for someone like her, she isn't meant for prison at all, and she would do everything in her power to make sure she doesn't end up here.
"Where is my daughter?" Both Nari and Kate heard a familiar voice and they rushed out to see the general standing before the police men in there
"Oh father it's good you came." Kate greeted her father seeing the old man arrive. She smiled in triumph glaring at the police men in there, especially the one that kept talking shit earlier. She would never forget his face. She would make sure he loses his job after today.
"Did you finally get us out?" Nari asked the old man.
"I'm afraid not. Noah didn't give room for that, you'll have to sleep in the cell tonight." The smile on Kate's face dropped as she stared at her father with a grave expression.
Shen who's cell was opposite their overheard the old man say and he sighed. He had also tried calling his assistant a few times ordering the man to get him out of there but they couldn't. The police men wouldn't accept any money they offered dimming it to be too small compared to the money Noah had offered them.
When Shen suggested tripling it for them, the decline his offer saying he was incapable.
Who knew one day he would end up in a cell as disgusting as this one. He stared at his pregnant wife slapping her body from mosquitoes. Mia was sure to fall sick after all of these.
If she hated Anna a little before, right now, she hated her more now. "I don't want to see you close to that Anna girl on e we get out of these." Mia yelled at her step daughter who hadn't said a thing to anyone since they got here.
She wouldn't blame Janjan. Today's supposed to be her wedding but thanks to Anna everything has been ruined. They were yet to see Chalamet arrive. Was he aware of their new predicament?
"What do you mean there's nothing you can do. I cannot spend another second in here." Kate's scream distracted everyone from their thoughts. She wasn't one of the hardened criminals of low lives who spend their lives in a cell. She is Kate Sui, a know woman in the society.
"I am so sorry Kate." The general said .and started walking away.
"Father, father don't you dare leave me." Kate screamed but the General didn't wait for her to completely her words and he stepped out of the building.
"That's enough mother, we'll find a way out of this." Nari tried to console her mother. Hearing someone call her mother made Kate do happy. She had adopted Nari out of spite for Anna, but right now, she loved her knew daughter more than she's loved anyone.
Nari faced the biggest shame of her career because of Anna. But let's see how fast it'll be to lift her back up'. Kate thought. She was willing to assist her daughter to any length. Nari will once again be the biggest model in the country.
"Nari, when we get out of here make sure to steal everything Anna own as planned. "I'll set up a meeting with George Borne, we'll discuss on your role in they movie." Kate said.
"Do not worry my dear, I'll give you the best life any mother can give to her daughter." Kate hugged her daughter close.
As the general left the prison cell without another word to Kate or Nari, he got into his car and drove off. He wanted to visit his first grandchild. He heard Anna had gotten into an accident and was in a critical condition, but he couldn't see her. He had used his mouth to disown his granddaughter.
The general was eager to know how she was doing. Even if he was mad at her he still cared for her. Even if he had disowned her didn't mean Anna wasn't his granddaughter still. She is his first grandchild.
He was hurt. But he knows Noah can take care of her, he's doing a better job then he did all these years.
General Sui's car came to halt at the entrance of the hospital. "Alright I will get Grace and just leave." The general mummured as he walked into the hospital.
"I'm here for Anna Sui." The general said.
