Chapter 144 WEDDING EVE 2
1512words
"What have I done to get this humiliation Janjan. Is it because of Anna?" Nari feigned ignorance as she spoke. She had overheard her new mother talking about Janjan marrying a Declan and she suddenly felt so jealous. First it was Anna getting married to a Declan now it's Janjan. She couldn't just stay quiet and just watch things go smoothly for everyone.
"Well for starters, you are a two faced evil bitch. The nerve of you to even step your foot in here." Janjan yelled at her. Anna who was seating on the bed sighed. If she knew this would happen, she would never have agreed to come, maybe she would have come up with an excuse for Janjan.
But even she knew she couldn't do that. Janjan is her best friend. What kind of friend would she be if she can ot assist her best friend when she needs it?
Her aunt Grace had spoken about them not attending the Shen's marriage, did they finally change their minds?
Even if Nari is to stay in here tonight, she has no choice but to stay with Janie. She was here for her friend and no one else.
"Going this hard for someone who doesn't even care about you. You have no idea who Anna is." Nari crossed both her hands on her chest. She had no idea Anna had arrived earlier, Grace had told them she wasn't feeling alright when she returned.
"I know Anna is anything better than you. You better leave before I ask the maids to throw you out." Janjan pushed Nari from her door with both her hands and the girl before her fell to the floor.
"What's the ruckus about?" Mia who had overheard their screams from the other side of the mansion decided to come here to be welcomed by this scornful scene. She frowned at her step daughter, she didn't know Janjan had it in her to harm others. Especially a girl as innocent as Nari who didn't look like she would hurt a fly.
This is the first night she's resting this week and the girls couldn't even give her peace?
"I really don't know." Nari said rising to her feet as she cleaned dust from her skirt.
"I don't know why Janjan hate me, I don't know what Anna has told her about me." Nari cleaned the tears that fell from her eyes as her soft voice echoed through the room and Mia immediately felt pity for the girl. She didn't know why Janjan was treating her the way she did.
"Janjan that is no way to treat a guest, especially someone who came to celebrate with you." Mia scolded her step daughter.
"Please, this witch is far from being a guest. She's a witch, one you should stay away from. Do you know the despicable things she's done?" Janjan retorted. Mia had seen the news, but they were in a society were the news was no longer legit. For all she knows Nari could be the innocent one without a lot of backing like Anna.
"Whatever she has done outside of this mansion should be left there. Tonight is your wedding eve, I'm pretty sure even Anna doesn't have an issue with her being here. You should know both Nari and Anna are now sisters, they can settle whatever differences they have." Mr Shen said.
Mia hadn't been the only one to overhear their quarrels and fights, it is Shen who had even asked her to come here, but since she was wasting much time, he had to come settle things himself.
"Father I will..."
"It's alright Janjan. Not tonight please. Let's not waste anymore time on irrelevant things." Anna held her friends shoulder as she spoke calmly. She could already feel her stomach churning from all of the fights and she didn't want to listen to more arguments.
Noah was right, Maybe this bridal shower was a bad idea. Maybe she shouldn't have come and just attend the wedding ceremony tomorrow. She didn't like the way Mia was staring at her like the worst person in the world.
She was the one who was betrayed. She's the one they had harmed. The one they abused. Yet again, Nari is somehow vindicating her name and stealing everything she has once again.
Nari on the other hands was shocked to see Anna in the room. Grace had said she wouldn't be attending so what the hell is she doing here then?
"Thank you sister, that is so nice of you." Nari said softly and Mia patted her back. "We're also sorry miss Sui for the inconveniences.
Miss Sui? That's the name everyone calls her, she's the real Sui's daughter, not Nari. Anna thought. What is really going on?
Was that the reason Mr Shen had addressed her as Mrs Declan, rather than the usual Sui? She almost scoffed but she held herself from doing so. Nari is obviously biting more than she can chew. Stealing her family first, and now, her identity?
Just how far is this girl willing to go?
"It's okay, I'm used to this kind of treatment from everyone. Even if I once committed an offense, I hadn't meant to harm anyone and I was still a silly little girl. Every sin can be forgiven miss Shen right?" Nari turned to the woman, her innocent brown eyes shining under the light, warming the woman's heart and she nodded.
"Only the devil would bare any grudge against you Nari, you're such a rare gem." Mia said with a smile and Nari returned it.
"I'm so grateful for my new mother, she's the only one who has never judged my past and has forgiven me. Though I'm still begging them to forgive Anna and I hope they will." Nari stared at her stepsister with a soft smile.
"Oh yes I saw the news." Mia stopped halfway when her husband tapped her to stop speaking. They all stared at Anna but she gave an indifferent expression. It's almost as if she hadn't heard what was said.
"Alright then, we'll leave you three alone." Mia and her husband walked away. Janjan walked in with Anna as they both sat on the bed.
"What do we do about the party?" Anna asked calmly.
"I'll call the rest and tell them it's cancelled. So much for a bridal shower." Janie picked her cell phone and walked into the room, leaving Anna alone in the bedroom. At the same time, Nari walked in.
"Anna, my favorite person in the world." She smiled.
"You can drop the act now, were not friends." Anna said meeting her gaze, the smile on Nari's lips only expanded turning even more innocent. Anyone who doesn't know who she is might see Anna as the evil malicious one meanwhile the real enemy was good at concealing her identity.
Anna has never felt so repulsive of anyone in her life as she felt towards Nari. She still couldn't believe how they were once friends. How did she not see all this character traits before?
Well just like everyone now, it's always hidden till you become her victim.
"Of course. But we're related now. You're my cousin if I'm not mistaken, or wait. You're no longer a part of the family, oh I almost forgot." Nari smiled.
"I'll always be a Sui, you're the one who isn't a part of the family Nari." Anna gritted her teeth. One a normal day they wouldn't respond and would try to keep her emotions at bail, but right now, her emotions were really swimming all over the place. She felt like crying. Oh how she hated the series of experiences that comes with pregnancy.
"You're no longer a Sui Anna, didn't you see the news? Grandpa has asked his lawyer to remove your name from the family officially." Anna felt her stomach turn at Nari's words but she composed herself quickly. She wouldn't give Nari the reaction she was looking for.
"You caused it to yourself anyways. If only you had listened to them when they said leave Noah Declan." Nari shrugged. "What would the world say when they find out you're married to Noah Declan?" Nari smiled.
"I can make them accept you back Anna. I can make them love you again."
"I don't need your help. They're my family, we'll always settle our differences." Anna said.
"Yes, you will. But not this time Anna. They hate you so much this time, especially since I am there. But I'll make them love you and accept you again if you do a little favour for me." Anna met her gaze and fought hard to keep her scoff at bail. Nari must think she's a fool to accept her useless offer. A small smile hung on her lips.
"What is it?" Anna finally asked playing along.
