She stared at Noah, who wore an indifferent expression as he chewed his food. Despite his stoic demeanor, he kept her close, meticulously placing more vegetables on her plate. Anna frowned, staring at the food without appetite.
This man will not let her leave the mansion today, no matter what. She sighed inwardly, feeling the weight of his overprotectiveness.
"You said Lola would reduce my workload," she started, trying to sound casual.
Noah looked up from his plate, his eyes narrowing slightly. "She will. You need to rest."
Anna pursed her lips, her frustration bubbling up. "Resting doesn't mean being confined here all day, Noah. I need to be out there, dealing with things."
"Hmm, starting from tomorrow. Today, you have to rest," Noah repeated, not looking her way. One glance at those ocean-blue eyes and he would be charmed all over again. Even her scent drove him insane.
Knowing he might not be able to have his wife the way he wanted until their child was born irked him. But the happiness of knowing the love of his life was carrying his child outweighed his frustration.
"Why not today?" Anna asked feeling frustrated. She knew she had to convince Noah somehow to let her leave this mansion. She was too upset to just seat.
George Borne had not only accused her of being so rude, he also accused her of infidelity. She gritted her teeth at her thoughts. That flower smack wasn't enough, now she thought about it. He deserves real punch and merciless beating for his words. She could cut off his mouth if she wanted. After all, Noah has told her to do whatever she wanted.
She didn't know why she was getting too emotional and angry about everything. On a normal day, she could just ignore as always and let the rumor die, but today, she wants to smack George herself.
"Noah's jaw tightened. "You fainted, sweet. Your health comes first. We'll deal with whatever it is you want, but not at the expense of your well-being." Noah said firmly, leaving no room for anymore discussion.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" He asked changing the conversation and Anna nodded. Since he wasn't looking her way he couldn't see her, "Words sweet girl."
"Yes." She said still staring at him.
"I love you Noah." Anna's soft sweet voice echoed in the room only for her hubby to close hid eyes as he let out a small sigh. "I love you too." He said still struggling not to meet that innocent beautiful face that can break every single defence fence he had struggled to build.
"I know our baby will look just like you sugar. Be it a girl or a boy." She called him by his pet name and he gritted his teeth.
Baby? What baby was their madam talking about. The maids around the table narrowed their eyes at her words. Could their new madam be pregnant already?
"I... D... Don't hesitate to ask for help if ever you need it for his case." He stuttered for the first time in his life, trying to switch the conversation even if it didn't make any sense.
"I won't do anything to harm our child sugar. I'll protect our baby more than anything." She assured.
The maids in the dining room almost jumped for joy at the news they all just heard. The elder had been here a few days ago talking about how many grandchildren he wanted and now their madam was pregnant. Their master and madam were both expecting their first child. Oh this calls for celebration, but why are they not celebrating it?
They're supposed to throw a huge secret party welcoming their baby. Why are they both so quiet about it?
"I know, that's why I want you to rest for today, you've been stressed the who week preparing for the event." He said drinking his water. Without waiting for her to speak, Noah picked her fork and collected a handful of food as he brought it to her lips.
"I can eat on my own." Anna protested but he didn't give her room for more. Noah watched her chew a little portion of the food slowly. She's always eaten this way since he met her. It's the way models eat so they don't get fat, but right now, she would have to learn to eat more since she was eating for two.
"I wanted to visit the company today, but Lola said I had a few photoshoot at the beauty shop and salon this morning. That's all I have to do today." Anna said staring at Noah but his face gave nothing. Just indifferent as always.
It's not like her tommy was swollen to the point she couldn't leave the mansion. Her stomach was still very much flat and she no longer felt sick anymore. But she doubt Noah would let her leave.
"You can come with me if you don't trust me." She suggested.
"I trust you, Lola told me about it." Anna smiled at his words. She opened her mouth and took another mouthful of vegetables and beaf.
"It wouldn't take long sugar, before you know it we're." She tried to convince him pouting her lips as she stared at him innocently. Noah still maintained an indifferent expression but he didn't say a thing to her. Anything was better than her being locked up in this mansion all day, doing nothing than staring at the maids do their work.
She couldn't go online yet cause everyone threw curses at her. They were dragging the hell out of her. The internet people are quick to turn on anyone. They may love you this minute and then the next minute they hate you.
You become the worst person to them in seconds.
Anna knew most of the people bullying her are not humans but bots. Noah runs the same company too, they have bots that defend people and try to change people's minds about a celebrity for good or for evil. Nothing happening was real and she knew.
The few evidence she's gathered of George Borne wasn't enough yet to expose him, she needed more and she needed to come up with a few tricks. She would destroy that man.
"You're still not going anywhere." Noah said.
