Chapter 137 STILL MY SUGAR 1

"Let me help you with that." Anna stood before her husband as she fixed his buttons. They have been together all morning till he got a call from Paul about reporting to the office for emergency. She still had refused to speak to Noah since he hadn't let her leave the mansion, but it didn't mean he wasn't her sweet sugar.

"I'm sorry." Noah said. He had to be a little harsh to keep her stubborn ass indoor today. He didn't mean to offend her so much and get her angry. She pursed her lips before opening them to speak.

"At least you get to go out." Anna rolled her eyes. She was still very much upset with him. Staying indoors with his shirt on wasn't a part of her plans today.

"It's only for today my sweet girl, you'll be out by tomorrow." She fixed the last button for him. When Noah leaned in to kiss her Anna turned her face to the side. "I... I'm still mad at you." She blushed not daring to meet his face.

"Of course." He raised his hands in surrender and was about to leave when her lips touched his cheeks. "You're still my sugar." She didn't know where she suddenly got the boldness to be this sweet but just like the party, Noah was tensed too. Back then she had kissed him before Mack and Nari.

Thinking about those two, she wondered what they were plotting this time. It was obvious it was about her and her family, Nari probably wants to extort money from her family.

"I'll see you when I get back." Noah pulled her close to kiss her gently. "Don't go anywhere." He warned before walking away.

Anna who stared at the closed door sighed before settling back on the bed. She was bored to death, but she knew she had to endure. She wondered how she loved like this with Mack when he had asked her never to work anymore.

Anna got up from the bed and walked into the closet. She stood before the floor to ceiling mirror staring at her reflection. She smiled at herself, unable to let go of the feeling she would be a mother soon. She was pregnant already and with no other than Noah's child.

She wondered what her family would do when they find out. Will her baby unite them again?

She lifted her dress to stare at her still flat tummy. "Welcome baby." She said rubbing it gently. Though it was still a fetus, she hoped it could still hear her.

The sound of her ringing phone distracted her and she went ahead to see who it was. When she checked the caller, it was none other than Janjan. They last time they had spoken was in the festival they attended. She could already tell Janie had a lot going on in her life as did she, that's why she never bothered her.

"Janjan." Anna called excitedly, almost spilling the good news but she paused. Noah had told her not to tell anyone yet, it's best she listens to him.

"Anna baby how are you?" Janjan's voice was heard from the other end and Anna smiled.

"Perfect. How are you?"

"I heard the news about your family, I'm so sorry Anna." Janjan's worried voice was heard and Anna sighed. Thinking about them now, her face turned so gloomy. Her grandfather has already disowned them because she chose Noah, she wondered if she's still allowed to visit. Her aunt Grace is who she wants to see, she's the only one that truly loves her.

"I was shocked myself when I found out from Bean." Anna said.

"Aunt Kate had always seemed like a crazy person to me. Out of the millions of young girls around the world she chose that bitch. Oh Anna I'll give her a piece of my mind when I see her." Janjan yelled.

"I should have never invited them for the wedding but father insisted." She added.

"Wedding?" Anna asked and she could already picture her friends blush.

"Anna I couldn't call you because of everything happening. But yes, I'm getting married to Chalamet Declan. Out wedding is in a week." She said.

"Do you love him.?" Anna was no expert but she knew in Marraige comes love. Even if the love dies down after a while, at least you can say you once loved each other.

"I... I don't know, he's been nothing but sweet to me." Janjan shrugged.

"Janie! Janie! Anna could hear someone call from the other end and she could tell it was Janjan's step mother. Janjan had told her about how kind her step mother had turned out to be. "Oh Anna, it seems my grandparents are already here, I'll be sending cards later to Noah but I need you for my bridal shower."

"I know you have a lot going on already, but... You know this better than I do." Janjan's tone was pleading and Anna couldn't resist her friend's plea.

"You don't have to worry baby, I'll be there for you." Anna assured.

"Thank you thank you thank you, I love you too." Janjan hung up. Anna was about to place her phone down when her phone beeped. It was George Borne, he had sent her the location of the hotel he wanted them to think.

Anna frowned at it and quickly threw her cell phone to her bed. She should stay away from it for now.

For the rest of the day she did nothing but sitting in bed reading a book. Most times she got tired and fell asleep, other times she ate the things she craved and still went to sleep again.

Noah returned from work in the evening. Rather than his butler, his wife was standing outside still in his shirt she had worn out of grudge. He smiled on seeing her there. She must have forgotten she's still mad at him and should not be waiting for him to get back.

The wind blew her dishealved hair to the side blocking her view and he saw how hard she struggled to keep it in place. Never in his life did he ever think he would one day be so happy to live with someone else. To share his space and mansion with someone else.

To love and cherish her more than himself.
