She clenched her hands into a fist, she should be the one loved and cared for this much, not Anna. Anna shouldn't be getting this much love and attention. Anna doesn't deserve it.
She got up from where she sat and rushed to Anna's side. "Anna, we're going to be sisters anyways, why not forgive me?" Anna pulled her hands from her hold without altering a word to her.
"We used to be best friends, I'm sorry for everything I did in the past Anna. Please let's be friends again." Nari fell to her knees and Kathy frowned.
"Nari don't stoop low and apologize to a murderer, pray to whatever you believe in that nothing happens to father." Kate yelled at her neice but Anna didn't say a thing to her.
"That's enough Kate, it's not entirely Anna's fault, father hasn't been well for a few days now." Grace said.
"He's been sick? Why did no one tell me about it?" Anna asked staring at both her aunties.
"You weren't around Anna, plus your grandfather insisted he was fine." Grace explained.
—
"Do you think grandpa would be okay?" Anna asked and Noah turned to look at her. He didn't know whether to tell her the old man was pretending or not and she shouldn't worry.
"I would ask my doctor to check up on him if it makes you happy." She nodded.
"If you don't feel like it, we could postpone the opening ball from today." Anna shook her head immediately. They had postponed it because of her before, but not anymore, she didn't want any of that. It would leave a bad image on the brand of they postponed it further today.
"I'll attend. It's not an issue for me." She said quickly. "Are you sure? The event is not that important, you are." She shook her head again.
"It's important sugar, we've cancelled it before, we can't afford that anymore." Anna said calmly and Noah nodded.
"Sugar?" Noah turned to look at her and she blushed. "I... It's the name I thought of calling you." She said bashfully not daring to meet his gaze and he just smiled at her silliness.
"It's a cute name my sweet girl." He said.
"You like it?" She asked to see him nod. "Very much." She said, his eyes still focused on the road. After a moment of silence...
"Do you want me to do anything about your family?" She shook her head quickly. "I... i'll handle everything myself you don't have to worry." Anna said to see him nod.
Though he has handled a few things before, she was smarter and he believed she could handle everything like she had said.
.
Anna and Noah didn't head back home after leaving the Sui's mansion, Noah had rather carried her for shopping. He wanted her to test the outfit he had ordered for her a few weeks ago.
Tonight is the grand opening of Eclipse entertainment. Finally, their entertainment company will be public.
The new entertainment company that has people on the tips of their toe. Everyone was eager to know who the new stars were. Even if Eclipse was yet to officially open, they had successfully taken over the entertainment industry in less than a year, surpassing larger entertainment company of more than thirty years and above. But its success didn't shock anyone, especially since they knew Noah Declan is the president of the company.
Noah was a known business tycoon in the city, the success of his company was already foreseen before now, it would infact be a taboo if it wasn't successful.
It was Nari's dream to be a part of the company, especially after working there for a few weeks.
She would have found a way in there, but Noah and Anna are the owners of the company. She had found out when working there that Anna wasn't just their top model, but she also held a higher percentage of the company.
A percentage higher than that of Noah's. Meaning she could fire Noah from being the president if she wanted to. That's the kind of power that man gave her. Nari gritted her teeth.
Why does everything have to revolve around Anna? She barely does a thing, yet good things come to her.
She was still wondering what Anna had done to find Noah, there's no way that man had just found her. She must have seduced Noah and trick him into giving her everything he own.
Well two can play that game, and she would show Anna she is a better player. Nari couldn't figure out a way to tell Kate about it, not now. Not when that old man had faked being sick. Today was the grand opening to eclipse and she wanted to be a part of it so bad.
Being there tonight would not only make her steal the shine from Anna, but it would push her career to the lime light again. This time she would make sure she crushes Anna to the point of no return.
The doctor arrived again and all three women rose to hear what he had to say. "Is my father okay doctor? Tell me he's fine." Kate rushed towards him and the doctor smiled.
"Your father is perfectly fine madam. He just needs rest for a few more hours and he'll be back to his feet again." He announced and everyone in the lounge suddenly let out relieved sighs. They had all been so scared they had lost their general, it's the first time he's ever had an heart attack.
"What really happened to him?" Grace asked, worry evident on her face.
"Mild heart attack. He shouldn't be disturbed too much, else the next attack might take his life." The doctor announced and Kate nodded.
"Curse Anna, I don't want to see her step her foot in this mansion ever again." Kate announced to the butler and he bowed without a single word to her.
"Isn't that too harsh mother, Anna is still a part of this family." Nari spoke up, playing the good daughter role but Kate was quick to shun her. "Your grandfather is more family than that girl, all she's brought upon us has been nothing but trouble." She said.
"They accused you of being a bad person, yet here you are defending that brat." She gritted her teeth as she thought of Anna.
"I'm saying this cause Anna is the only one to help me get my life back, if we cast her out how do I become Nari again?" She said pitifully, like a little child crying for a gift.
"Nonsense, what power does Anna hold to give you your life back?" Kate cut her off.
Grace eyed the girl from where she sat, smiling downwards. She would never love this girl more than her neice, not after everything she has done. She had seen the way Nari eyed Noah, she was not a fool to know she had an eye for Noah, she would have to warn her neice about her.
"Anna has an entertainment company?" Kate asked as surprised as everyone in the room.
"Yes, the one Noah Declan gave her when they got married. It is hers, can you tell her to let me work there mother?" Nari asked with pleading eyes and Kate just couldn't say no. Even if she was so mad at Anna, she would do anything for her new daughter Nari.
"I... I'll talk to her." She said with a frown.
"Their grand opening is tonight mother, I need to make an appearance, it'll do a lot for my tarnished career."
"Don't you think you're asking for too much? And what makes you think Anna will ever let you work with her after everything you did?" Grace frowned at the girl. She didn't know why her sister cannot see Nari is a big user.
"Mum can make her help me aunty, I don't know how, but she'll always find a way." Nari smiled and Kate returned it.
"Let's go out shopping for new clothes, Grace keep an eye on father, we'll be back soon." Kate said as she stepped out of the lounge with Nari.
—
Noah and Anna's drive to the boutique was long and quiet as both people were lost in their thoughts recalling the event of the day. Anna felt sad at everything that happened. It felt like a nightmare, one she wanted to wake up from so badly.
Nari couldn't be her sister, she just couldn't. When she tried to defend herself, she almost killed her grandfather. She only hopes he's okay right now. She'll never forgive herself if anything bad happens to him.
Both people finally arrived at the fashion house together. Just Anna stepped out of the car, her phone rang. She brought it out of her purse to check the caller and it was her aunt Kathy.
