She had been scared all week and had been preparing to see his parents. Though he has told her she was likable and had nothing to worry about, Anna still troubled him.
He glanced at her and she did at him. He smiled when her cheeks suddenly turned pink. He didn't know how this tiny woman survived in the industry for so long, but the woman he had been living with for months now was totally different from who he had heard about.
"I don't want anyone else finding out about this, I and my wife have decided to keep our relationship private for now till we are ready to make it public." Noah stared.
"How about your engagement party? There's no way it'll just be out family members?" Evelyn chimed in.
"We don't need an extravagant party to announce to anyone. We're already married that should be enough." Noah's words only made his mother more suspicious about his marriage to Anna.
Why is he doing this? They've never forced him to be married even if Vincent had tried setting up blind dates in the past.
Influencers and female celebrities are known for fake marriages with prestigious men in exchange for big careers.
Was Noah dodging from marrying Cara and he had to bring his employee over as his wife? She narrowed her eyes at her son. If there is one thing she knew her son for it is his cunning ways.
She would not let her children get married to whoever, but Anna seems like a decent girl even if she has had a notorious past. And Noah didn't leave room for debate. Besides he's already married to Anna without their knowledge.
"Is there a need for that? Do you want the world to mock me Noah?" She asked. She had bragged about her son to her social circle for too long, what will people say if they found out?
"I'm not your tool for gaggery in your social circle. I do what I want when I want to." Noah stated and Evelyn paused her lips. She knew Noah is a stubborn man, and she'll be wasting her time trying to convince him.
A surprise engagement would be the best thing in cases like this. She is Evelyn Declan, she'll always find a way.
"Then you'll have to invite her family over Noah. We need to see them." Evelyn said calmly.
Knowing how stubborn Anna's family is and the strong hate they already have for his family, he doubts they would agree to come over. They hate him with passion and would rather pick that stupid Mack over him anyway any time.
Thinking of that fool, he gritted his teeth calmly. Paul had informed about Mack Yong wanting to see him but he was too busy with his mother's birthday party. But now, he is ready to deal with them since he has nothing interesting going on anymore except of course his sweet wife who's still scared of getting touched by him.
If not for his nosey grandfather he would have her seated beside him as he does unimaginable things to her. As if Anna noticed his gaze, she glanced at her husband and he winked at her. She quickly shifted her eyes and focus on the food on her plate.
She had wanted to make their relationship public since she had taken her revenge on Nari and Mack, but since Noah didn't agree for reasons she knew nothing about, she agreed to keep it private.
"I'll see what I can do about them." Noah stated.
"Nonsense," Evelyn said smacking the table.
"I will not let my son get married too quietly, the world has to know you're married, Noah." She continued.
"You won't do that." Noah said coldly.
"Oh I will Noah, I'm your mother. And my words are final." Anna could tell where Noah got his stubbornness from. It's clearly his mother.
"Even your wife agrees. Right Anna?"
"Hmm." Anna didn't know why she was being involved in this.
"She doesn't know what she's talking about," Noah said staring at his wife.
"Noah's right, what's the rush they're already married." Vincent supported his grandson for the first time ever. The whole public announcement thing made him feel so strange especially since he knew he was the reason the Sui's had great hate for them.
When he had done what he did years ago, he never knew this would be the result of it, but look at them now. The evidence of his actions was back to hunt him.
"How could you say that father?" Evelyn asked staring at the old man in surprise. "Do you want her pregnant before marriage?" Anna blushed at her words.
"It's alright if you both don't want to be in attendance, I can plan the engagement party with my daughter-in-law and your father." She smiled and then turned to Lionel, "Right sweetheart?" Lionel nodded hesitantly before she could complete her words.
No one had to tell Anna, Evelyn ruled the Declan's family for her to know. And she loved it. She wishes she could do the same to Noah, but he seems too possessive to be controlled by her.
He would rather control her and do mean things to her if things didn't go his way.

While the family had their sumptuous breakfast while preparing for Noah and Anna's grand engagement, back on the outskirts of the city. Nari swiped through her phone in annoyance as she stared at the news.
The news has been filled with a series of insults and curses upon her and her unborn child and she hated that their words were actually coming through.
It has been days since everything happened. Since her life was destroyed and taken away from her by the very person she had underestimated. Anna Sui.
If she knew this would befall her, she would have eliminated Anna and never given her a chance for revenge. Maybe if she hadn't been so blinded by the wrong thing she would have noticed everything happening.
She turned to the man she had loved all these years. The man she destroyed Anna for. Seeing him now with no money or a mansion like before, Nari could see how unattractive Mack was. She didn't believe she had ever been in love with this man.
She guessed she just loved his money and nothing more.
She would have found another way out, but she's tied to him because of the child she carries for him. His seed was growing in her. This is not the life she wants for her child, this is not the life she had planned out.
She couldn't possibly grow from poverty to be back in that. Nari shook her head softly.
She would need to sacrifice the life of her innocent child for a better life or sacrifice her chance of a better life for the sake of her child. She squeezed her stomach tightly, thinking of what to do next.
