As always, she had invited every prestigious family in the city. The royal families were present, as well as deacons and duchesses, since Evelyn herself is from royalty. Many elite people from the country and far beyond were in attendance to celebrate with her.
Everyone was gathered in the ballroom, dressed in different attire and costumes, ready for the party. The celebration had been going on for a whole week, and most people had already been celebrating before today. Tonight marked the end of the festivities.
Gifts were already falling in as usual, diamonds of the highest quality, landed properties, real estates, jewels and much more. Even money was gifted. Evelyn has recieved lots and lots of gift and she was happy.
Cara and Beth had already prepared their presents to give to Evelyn, who was now sitting next to her husband. She had been incredibly excited throughout the entire week because her husband and son had thrown her the best party of her life.
Cara, who was about to gift her mother-in-law, stared at the door every now and then, as if waiting for someone to step in. She had heard from the guards about Noah's arrival and wanted to impress him, as well as everyone in here.
"It's time, Cara," Beth said, as the last person dropped a box of jewelry before Evelyn Bancroft.
"He's not here yet, Beth. I want him to see it." Beth also stared at the door.
"Noah doesn't like parties. I doubt he would attend this one," Beth said, causing her friend to frown.
"Oh, he will attend this time." She pointed at the door where Elder Vincent and Anna walked through. Unlike everyone else, Anna was wearing a white mini dress with diamond crystals scattered all over it. Her blonde hair was neatly combed into waves and it fell beautifully down her back. She looked like a goddess and caught everyone's attention the moment she stepped in.
Cara felt inferior and insecure all over again. Seeing Anna here reminded her of the pain the girl had put her through before. The embarrassment she had faced during their last encounter. If she had the power, she would kill Anna without a second thought.
"And your grandfather is already all over her?" she added.
"You know Grandpa has a thing for pretty women," Beth said.
"And I'm not pretty. Yet he hates me." Cara rolled her eyes. Even if it was true, she would never admit that Anna was way more beautiful than she was.
Shortly after Anna and the elder stepped in, Noah also walked in. His eyes were on his grandfather and his precious wife.
"Mother," Cara called to gain her mother-in-law's attention, and Evelyn's eyes moved to the girl. Cara was the one she had chosen for her son Noah, and after the party, she would finally announce it.
"I have a gift for you," Cara said out loud, attracting the attention of everyone around her. She had been planning this night since last week and didn't know there would be a plot twist: Anna Sui. She never thought that the social media influencer would attend this party.
She isn't even on their level to be invited to a party as prestigious as this one.
Cara held the box of the gift in her hands. "I promise to give you something that would be a lot different from what everyone else has given. Something you have always wanted to have." She stated proudly, attracting the attention of more people, including Janjan and Chalamet, who had just walked in.
Everyone waited eagerly to see what the Hucken's daughter had for Evelyn Declan that was better than theirs. They have heard rumors of the girl living with the Declan's, infact the Declan's were grooming the girl and preparing her for marriage with their son Noah.
The Hucken's were already one of the most important family in the city, because of their association with the Declan's.
"Mother, this is my gift for you." Cara handed the gift over to Evelyn who opened the package and let out a gasp. She brought out the content in the box and gasp flew from one side of the ballroom to another.
Cara had indeed outdone every gift given to the lady.
