He felt terrible for ever harming her parents and he hoped the girl would forgive him for what he did.
He stole the joy of having any parent from her. To even find out she was involved in the accident and spent three years in a coma was unbearable. He would have stolen his grandson's happiness because of his foolishness and greed. He hoped when he finally confessed to Anna she would forgive him. Noah would be so heartbroken if she left.
"I've missed you." Anna placed a kiss on his bald head and quickly turned her gaze immediately to Noah whose eyes were already on her. She could feel cold sweat trickling down her back at the thought of what Noah might do to her after the party.
He has warned her countless times not to kiss another man or let anyone close to her. But she couldn't resist pegging his grandfather just as she does to hers. She pegs her grandfather all over his face before letting him go. It's like a bad habit of hers.
"I've missed you too my dear. I see you've taken good care of my grandson." Vincent said leading her to sit on a sofa.
"It's not been easy." She glanced at Noah and his eyes were still on her.
"I know. Noah can be a jerk sometimes and he's a very big liar, but that doesn't mean he's not a good person." Elder Vincent said to see Anna smile. She didn't know Noah was a liar, especially since he hadn't lied to her before. And yes, he could be a jerk, what man would be jealous of her pegging his grandfather?
Anna was so focused on the trouble she had put herself into that she hadn't noticed Janjan staring at Chalamet with wide eyes.
What was he doing here?
Was he related to Noah?
Was he invited? She bit her lips at her thought feeling like the ground should swallow her instantly. She had embarrassed herself before this man the last time they met and ran away with the thought she would never meet him ever again, but here she is.
"You..." Before Chalamet could complete his sentence, Janjan dashed out of the room and he quickly followed her. She had escaped from him that day, but he wouldn't let her this time. The mysterious girl he has been searching for for years now.
Chalamet walked out of the room quietly not to attract the others but a certain brown eyes followed him and the girl.
Paul was sitting in a corner next to his boss when Anna and Janjan walked in. They had also just arrived and we were waiting for both ladies before attending the ceremony. When Janjan walked in he saw her smile and then her eyes going wide as she stared at a corner.
When he followed her line of sight he saw her staring at Chalamet, Noah's cousin and so was the man. They both had shocking looks on their faces like they had both seen ghosts. Paul wanted to interfere but before he could, Janjan ran out of the room. Chalamet Mangrove is a dangerous man, he wonders what an innocent girl like Janjan would be doing with such a person.
As if that was not enough, he saw Chalamet leave the room too. Paul tapped the heels of his shoes on the floor restlessly as he hungered to follow them. He didn't know why he had gotten attached to the girl in barely two days of babysitting her.
It's none of his business what she does with her life, but it would be his business if the girl dies right? "How troublesome," Paul muttered and Noah who had been focused on his stubborn wife turned to look at him. He had his brows raised at his assistant. He was already upset at the way his grandfather held his wife and he didn't want Paul to add his problems to his.
"What is it?" Noah asked and Paul who was lost in his thought until now regained himself.
"Nothing." He said.
"Go see how things are going and report back to me," Noah ordered and Paul quickly dashed out of the room too. He smiled as he walked away, this was the opportunity he needed to find Janjan.
"It wouldn't be long before I start seeing wonderful grandkids around the mansion. One named Chacha, the other Vuvu the next Darla." Vincent laughed and Anna's eyes went to Noah who hadn't taken his eyes off her not even for a second. He stared at her like a beast waiting patiently to feast on its prey. She shivered at the sight of him. She was scared at the thought of being with him alone later. This man would devour her completely. She bit her lips at her thought, pressing her thighs together.
Her little action didn't go unnoticed as Noah's lips pulled up.
"How many children have you two thought of having?" Vincent asked innocently.
"Seven," Noah said crossing his legs on the sofa to see Anna's eyes go wide. He enjoyed seeing her shocked face.
"One grandpa," Anna said with a frown.
"One?" Vincent asked baffled by Anna's confession. He didn't want one grandchild, he wanted as many as he could get. He wanted those adorable faces around him, faces that would make him laugh and smile till the day he died. He already had names for as many children as they would have.
"Yes, one. I don't need much children." She turned to Noah who chuckled.
"Of course, we'll have as much as you need." Noah laughed some more to see his wife eye him stylishly.
"The party has officially begun." Paul stood by the door as he announced. He looked exhausted and was breathing heavily and Noah wondered what the man was up to this time.
"Let us go then." Vincent held his daughter-in-law's hands as he led her out of the room and over to the ballroom where the party was being held.
