Chapter 66 THE PARTY 2

"Uh, how can one person be this beautiful?" A woman standing at a corner asked the next woman standing next to her.

"She is indeed beautiful, but I wish her heart was as beautiful as her face." The other person said.

"What are you talking about?"

"Did you forget she has been the one to expose herself the last two weeks on the news? Saying she was jealous of Nari that's why she did those things to her two years ago." The woman frowned at her friend's words, glaring at Anna.

"Nari is such a good person. To still talk to the person that hurt you the most." The woman clicked her tongue.

"Yes, I remember this Anna girl. That is why I wasn't moved by her beauty when she came in." She said as they stared at her disdainfully.

Nari who had been standing with a few others while Anna stole the whole spotlight from her hooked her lips and walked over to welcome her ex-friend.

"You're here Anna." She smiled brightly, her eyes checking out the diamonds if they were the ones at the auction.

Anna raised her eyes to look at the woman who had the softest features, yet a snake on the inside.

Nari didn't want to believe Anna had caught such big fish. It's no wonder she has been in the headlines for two weeks straight. Her name never left anyone's lips. That man must be sponsoring everything.

While they thought her family was helping her, her ex-friend has been sleeping around with an ultra-rich billionaire.

Such juicy news...

"Don't act surprised, you invited me here, I'm sure you didn't make any mistake." Anna rolled her eyes. There was no need to act all nice and sweet with Nari.

Nari walked closer to Anna and with a low voice she asked, "How did this diamond come to be in your possession Anna?" She narrowed her eyes at Anna.

Anna observed Nari's jealous expression and smiled. Noah buying this gift for her wasn't a bad thing after all. She was pleased to see Nari with this expression.

She always knew Nari wanted to be like her. To have whatever she had. That is why whenever she went out to get something, she would always buy Nari's too. But Nari was greedy. She wasn't satisfied with all Anna did and wanted Anna's life for herself.

The only thing she hasn't stolen from Anna yet is her family.

Anna smiled faintly, her fingers pinching the diamond as she played with it. "You like it, don't you? You're jealous once again." She chuckled.

"See, it's not that hard to always bring out your true nature. How does it feel to finally see me with something you can never have?"

Her eyes were more than mocking, "You're carrying Mack's child, he claims to love you so much, yet he couldn't fight for you to have this." She smiled enjoying every reaction Nari made.

Nari clenched her hands into a fist, her long nails digging inside her flesh as she fought hard to maintain her stiff smile.

"At least I'm better than you who have to sleep around with men who are older than you. You're still hurting because Mack chose me over you?"

"Move on already before you commit suicide. If you create another hot topic, that'll be so unfortunate."

"It'll be a hot trending topic for only a week or a month and the world will forget you, Anna. Just like they did before." Nari smiled. She could see how unchanged and unmoved Anna's expression was and she wondered why she gave no reaction.

The Anna she knew was like an open book. Whatever she felt will always show on her face, unless...

"You're overthinking things," Anna said coldly.

"I don't need to get angry at two crazy dogs like you two." She added.

"Now watch your lips, Anna. You've seen it too. Mack loves me better and he chose me." She crossed her hands on her chest.

"He has kissed me, something he hasn't done with you. He has always been that way with me before he even met you." Anna narrowed her eyes at Nari's confession.

"And don't even start with the nonsense of stealing anyone. If there's anything, you stole Mack away. You should be glad I asked him to date you too since you had no boyfriend and you were desperate to have one." Nari raised her chin as she spoke.

"What men date their girlfriend's single friend when they are already in a relationship?" Anna chuckled.

"I don't care if you met him in kindergarten, the world knows I and Mack were once together and you'll forever be the other woman. And stop trying to make me see that he really loves you and chooses you over me, I don't care. You're carrying his child, Nari, he should be married to you by now." She rolled her eyes.

"What do you think people will say when they find out." She said cause Nari was also like her. They cared a lot about what people had to say about them. Though Anna was learning not to care anymore.

"I just announced our breakup and it's too early to be with another woman don't you think? What do you think they would call you?" Anna acted like she was thinking.

"Oh yes, a desperate whore." She smiled.

"And did your lover tell you he's been begging me to come back? Did he tell you where he was yesterday?" Nari narrowed her eyes, she could already feel her anger rising.

"How did his wrist get broken?" Anna continued.

"It was broken cause of me." She smiled. If Nari thinks she could play the bully game, Anna is ten times better at it.

"Lies. You're a liar. You're just jealous Mack loves me. And yes we're going to be engaged tonight, that's one of the surprises of tonight." Nari said.

"Oh, now the surprise is ruined," Anna said pitifully.

"That's good news, right? You're one step in and not just the regular baby mama." She laughed.

"Now if you'd excuse me, I have other guests to greet and attend to." Nari glared at her ex-friend and walked away. She was too upset to continue any pleasantries with anyone.

Nari walked to where Mack was standing and she could see him staring at Anna who conversed with other guests.

"Where were you yesterday Mack? Why did you come back with a broken wrist?" Mack frowned at her sudden outburst and he signaled his men to distract the guest with something entertaining.

A group of dancers went up to the podium to entertain the guest who smiled and danced along with them.

"What are you talking about? I already told you I fell down the stairs."

"You liar." She slapped him hard. A few guests noticed the commotion and alerted the others. Mack who noticed this in time dragged Nari out of the hall.

"You went to save her from those paparazzi and you lied to me. You still beg her to come back to you even if we're getting married Mack." Nari's eyes moistened as she yelled at him.

"Where did you get all of this information from?" Mack asked dragging her through the halls and Nari pulled her hands from his.

"Only our family knows about your injury, how did she find out?" She asked.

"Who are you talking about?"

"Anna. How did she find out you were injured." She yelled attracting the attention of a few passerby's and their maids.

"What are you two doing? Do you know people can see you?" Veronica who just left her room in search of her husband came across these two.

"Mum he..."

"That's enough Nari. You should be the happiest woman tonight." Veronica said.

"The party's about to start, let's all go celebrate your father." Veronica led her children back into the hall for the celebration of her husband's 60th birthday.

When they got back in the hall people stared at them differently and they wondered what was happening. Immediately, a man approached Mack.

"Sir, you're trending on the news. It seems someone took a photo of Madam slapping you and posted it online." Nari frowned at this. They are supposed to announce their marriage tonight. This can't be happening, now, not tonight.

She stared at Anna who kept on talking to someone with a smile on her lips. It was none other than Lola, but since Nari had no idea who Lola was, plus she looked like one of their guest daughters because of the expensive dress she wore.

She didn't understand, the only person who seemed her downfall was here in this very building so who was after them?

But Little did Nari know that Anna wasn't just here to attend the party to laugh and dine with her enemies. When she showed Lola the invitation card, Lola told her to attend the party immediately.

This party was the opening they needed. The opening they have longed for.

Lola had seen the rant between Nari and Mack. She had been the one to tell Anna to instigate Nari into creating a scene tonight so that it would align with what they had planned. She had also been the one to take those pictures and send them to a news blog.

Anna only hoped that her plans for tonight would work. So far everything was working accordingly. She hoped nothing would go wrong this time.

"Just wait till I exact my revenge on you two." She murmured staring at the confused couple.
