"Do you hear that?" Elder Vincent yelled staring at the back of his son walking away.

"It's alright Grandpa." Noah signaled the maids and they took his grandfather to his room. He watched the old man and the maids leave silently and let out a sigh.

His grandfather was different from years back. He could see how lonely the old man was, but he still held unto his late wife's memory. He loved her so much to be with another woman.

It's not like he hasn't tried to find another woman initially, but just like him. All attempt to be happy again failed. After so any attempts, Vincent decided he wasn't meant to be with anyone again. He decided to stay single forever.

Noah stared at the now empty corridor his grandfather walked through and turned to leave when, "Noah."

He turned at the voice he heard to see Cara standing behind him. His sister's friend, the same person who had drugged him that night. His lazy eyes stared at her.

She was in her tiny night dress, her red hair was combed down to her back. Cara was a beautiful young woman, her soft features was what made her stand out.

"I didn't know you were here." She smiled shyly, moving her hair to the back of her ears innocently.

"I just arrived," Noah said.

"You must be hungry, I can ask Arnold to prepare something for you " she suggested.

"I've had something to eat. If you'd excuse me." He found his way to his father's study room. He had learnt his lesson from that witch. She isn't as innocent as she looked, she had drugged him to sleep with him.

He really couldn't tell what goes on in his sister's head. Did she think he was a fool to fall for it?

Cara watched her crush walk away with dreamy eyes. She has had a crush on this man for years now and she knew she was close to being his wife. Especially since his mother had suggested it to her family already.

It's only a matter of time before they tell him.

She had been sleeping when Beth informed her Noah was around. She was immediately asked to show herself to him, and she did just that. Though his cold indifferent face remained the same, she knew he had noticed her, and that's enough for her.

When Noah was done with his grandfather, he went over to his father's study. He didn't bother to Knock since the door was slightly open and just stepped in.

"Did you forget your manners?" He heard his father's deep voice.

"You were already expecting me, it'll be a waste of time." Noah sat on a sofa, stretching his arms. He was exhausted from the days work, all he wanted to do was return home to his wife on his bed while he sleeps with her in his arms like everyother night.

He always didn't have something to look forward to everyday till he met Anna. She has changed his life in ways he couldn't imagine.

"You never return home. It's surprising to see you come back without informing anyone especially when I have not poked you in years." Lionel finally stepped out of his bar with two glasses of drink in his hands.

"I'm staying for long." Came Noah's response.

Lionel handed one of the glass to his son and took a sip from the other. Noah took the drink from his father and placed it on the table.

"Why?" His father asked staring at the drink on the table. "Do you think I would poison you Noah?" Lionel asked.

"You could, and may have an antidote right here but will only give it to me when I do what you want." Noah didn't beat around the bush.

To his family, human life meant nothing, that's the main reason he hasn't introduced his wife to them yet.

Lionel smiled at his son's honest words even if deep down it had hurt him. One mistake of the past has changed the relationship he had with his son forever.

"You're right. But not tonight, especially since you gave half of your inheritance to that girl. Who is she?" Noah raised a brow.

Has his father been watching him?

"It's not your business."

"Be careful what you do Noah, you can't trust anyone like that."

"I know what I am doing."

"She might be a golddigger that wants to use you. Women are always that way, they're users." Lionel twirled the drink in his hands as he spoke nonchalantly.

"She's not one of those women."

"But she's a celebrity. A female at that. Women like that are whores, have you asked..." He trailed when he received a sharp glare from his son.

"Of course, it's your life. As your father, I'm always here to support you when you go broke." Both men stared at each other for a few seconds and then started chuckling.

"Go broke." Noah muttered wondering what it would feel like having no money. Now he thought about it, it doesn't seem like a boring thing to try sometimes.

"How is mother?" Noah changed the conversation.

"Still consoling your sister who claimed she got her heart broken." Lionel rolled his eyes. He knew it was another calculated game of Beth to get attention from everyone again.

Beth was one of a kind. She was so troublesome and stubborn. He couldn't tell where she got such attitude from.

"So why are you here?"

"Do you recall any man named, Jacob Sui? Did he once work for you?"

"Jacob Sui, Jacob Sui." Lionel moved his head side ways trying to recall that name but he couldn't. Lionel wasn't one to forget who he has worked with, and in all his life, he has never worked with anyone like that before.

"I don't remember working with a person with that name. You can ask your grandfather, it could be him." Noah nodded wondering if it was his grandfather. He has heard of how evil his grandfather used to be, maybe it's him.

But he couldn't meet the old man now. He could already be asleep, considering how upset he was earlier.

"But why do you ask?" Lionel asked and then said. "If I'm not mistaken, he is related to the Sui's and from what I know he's dead right?" Noah nodded.

"The Sui's are your new in-laws. I have to make sure we do not have any bad record with them." Noah announced with a bright smile to see his father nod in agreement.

"It's good you've finally found someone you want to settle down with. I'll give you my blessings when needed." He nodded at his father's words.

Noah told his father cause the man barely talked or say a thing to anyone unless needed. So he didn't have to worry about the news reaching his entirely family the next day.

Though he couldn't say the same for his grandfather. He could tell the man was dying silently keeping such news to himself.

Once Noah was done talking to his father, he stepped out of the study room and over to his bedroom. He would have to stay here a day longer to talk to his grandfather.

Lionel stared at the untouched glass of wine before him, his heart pricked. A terrible past has made his son lose faith in him. A past that has broken the bond between a father and a son.

He picked the glass from the table and drank all of it's content...
