'What is it?" Dapo asked, his voice filled with apprehension.
Eki moved her head from side to side, filled with many quick thoughts. She did not know what was inside the package; it felt heavy in a strange way. The way the delivery man acted made her feel nervous.
With trembling hands, she opened the box. Inside, placed on gentle foam was a tiny metal gadget. It was about the same size as a smartphone, but how it appears is very different from anything they have ever seen before.
Some lights were glowing on the surface, and a soft buzzing noise was in the room. Eki stretched her hand to touch it, but Dapo quickly grabbed her hand.
'Don't touch it," he warned. 'It could be a bomb."
Ayo nodded in agreement. 'We should call the police," she said.
Eki hesitated. They couldn't trust the police. They were already being hunted, and involving them could be a dangerous mistake.
'We cannot tell the police," she says, her voice with much worry. 'Maybe they do not believe us."
Dapo looked at her, his face pale. 'What do we do then?" he asked.
Eki is not sure what to do. They were in a place never visited before, full of many strange things and dangers. They had to figure out what the device was, and what it was for.
When they looked at the device, they saw a small button on one side. It was very hard to notice. Eki paused for a moment before deciding to press it. A hologram image comes out from the device, showing a city map. This map has many locations marked, each one with a red highlight.
'What does this mean?" Dapo asked, his voice filled with confusion.
Eki moved her head from side to side. She was uncertain, but she had a bad feeling about it. Places on the map seemed to make a pattern, looking like strange puzzles that waited for someone to solve.
While they see the map, a sound appears from outside. It seems like the car is coming near. Eki and Dapo exchanged a terrified glance. Someone was coming.
They move quickly, putting away the device and collecting important items. They have to leave immediately; no time for delay.
Feeling much sadness, they leave the safe house. They feel pressure because they do not know what will happen next. They need to understand this device and stop the person who created it.
