Chapter 116: A Desperate Escape

1150words
Eki, Dapo and Ayo were very surprised when men with guns entered the warehouse. The armed men moved quickly, looking around to check if anyone would try to fight back.

"Don't move," one of the men ordered, his voice low and menacing.

Eki, Dapo and Ayo's hearts beat very quickly, but they could not move their bodies. They were stuck; the men had guns and there were a lot of them.

"Who are you?" Dapo managed to say, his voice trembling slightly.

The first one from the group moved to the front, face showing no emotion. He said, "It is not important," he answered back. "What is important is that you are coming."

Eki and Dapo exchange a glance filled with fear. They know clearly that being caught is not an option, so even if the chances are slim, they have to resist.

At the same time, Eki and Dapo jumped up to attack. They moved very quickly because of the adrenaline in their bodies. The next moments were very confusing because fights started - I saw only a mess of punching and kicking, with sounds like things breaking all around.

Hey, she sees her friends having trouble and goes to help them. She is not as big as the men but fights with a strength that surprises everyone. She uses quickness to dodge strikes and find chances for hits of her own.

The battle was very difficult, mostly because they did not have enough people. But with a lot of strong willpower, Eki, Dapo and Ayo fought hard to increase their chances of surviving. They fight hard for their life; to give up without trying is not possible.

When it seemed like the fight would never end, they finally managed to control their attackers. The men are now lying on the ground, making sounds of pain. Eki and Dapo had to inhale deeply, feeling fatigued and achy from this battle.

"We can't stay here," Dapo said, his voice filled with urgency. "They'll be back."

Anya nodded. "We need to get out of here, and fast," she replied.

They took their things and left the warehouse. Outside, the night was cold and dark, but they did not care about that; now their main goal was to get as far away from those chasing them as they could.

When they run on empty streets, the sound of police car sirens is heard. They must find a place to hide fast.

They go into a tiny and dark alley, breathing fast from fear and tiredness. Even though they feel very worn out and hurt, stopping for a long time is not possible; to stay alive is the only choice.

Just as they were almost falling, somebody came out from the shadows. It was a woman with her face hidden by a hood. She looked at them with fear and determination.

"Follow me," she said, her voice low and urgent. "I can help you."

Eki and Dapo exchanged a glance, their expressions showing they were unsure. They did not know this lady and felt uncertain about what she wanted from them. But now, they have no other options because the chase is becoming very intense. They need any help that can come to them.

"Lead the way," Dapo said, his voice filled with determination.

The lady nodded her head and started to walk, leading them through the tight alleys. They followed quietly behind her, feeling their hearts beating quickly in their chests. They do not know where she led them, but they trust her completely.

At last, they reach a small building that does not look special. The woman stops and turns to look at them.

"You stop here," she said, voice with worry. "Be careful, they won't catch you."

Eki and Dapo, with gratitude in their hearts, showed thanks to her. They watched as she walked away into the night, gradually vanishing from view in the dark.

They walked through the area, a small apartment on the third floor. Not many things were inside, but it seemed tidy and safe. After this, they fell onto the couch feeling body pains because of what happened earlier.

They get away from the people going after them, but they know it is just the beginning. Thorne and his team have much power and won't stop chasing them. Usually, this part of the story does not end with solving all the problems mentioned earlier in the plot. But there is a sense that things are moving into a new phase—one where Thorne's team begins to take on bigger roles and increases their actions against the main characters shown so far.

Eki and Dapo exchanged glances with weary eyes. They had to come up with a strategy, some way to retaliate. It was very needed that Thorne's actions become widely known and he faces the consequences for what he did. But before this, they must take a rest to regain their strength.

When they sleep, their heads are full of ideas of what could occur next. They join in a very dangerous game, fighting hard to keep living. But it is not only them. They had one another, and they also had the truth. That was a strong weapon.

The next day, they wake up and feel very fresh. They understand action must happen now without more waiting or any doubts in mind.

First, they speak with Ayo and explain the situation to her. In the beginning, she does not believe they meet Thorne's men, but soon she shows a strong desire to help them.

"We should show Thorne," Eki said with much resolve. "We must let everyone know his real character."

Ayo accepted, saying "I have a connection. A journalist, very active. She can help us expose Thorne."

Eki and Dapo look at each other, their eyes glowing with hope. Maybe this is a big opportunity for them. They must grab it!

"Dapo, " he said with firmness. "We should try. We don't have anything to lose."

When they were about to contact the journalist, a sudden knock on the door startled them. Eki walked slowly towards it and peered through the small peephole. A person who delivers things was standing there with one package in her hands. There was a small look of doubt in her eyes. They hadn't ordered anything.

Eki, with careful curiosity on her face, softly turns the door handle. A delivery person gives a package to her—it is like a box but not from usual materials; it is made of metal instead. When she holds it, her fingers sense something cold and solid inside.

She felt a cold shiver go down her spine. She looked at the delivery man, but he had already started to walk away. Eki's heart was beating very fast as she turned the package over and over. She had a bad feeling about what could be inside.
