But just as he reached the juiciest part of a story, he suddenly stopped.

"Want to know what happens next, sis? One kiss and I'll tell you."


I glanced at our fellow passengers—who were now openly eating sunflower seeds and listening to his stories—and blushed furiously, shoving him away.

"People are watching!"

As soon as I whispered this, a voice called out.


"Don't be shy, miss! Hey everyone, look away for a minute!"

I laughed despite myself and leaned in to give Jack a quick peck.


To my surprise, he immediately spoke into his phone—which had apparently been on a call this whole time.

"Joel, why are you calling? I'm busy right now.

Don't you have a girlfriend? Why do you always interrupt at the worst moments..."

The mischief and satisfaction in Jack's eyes was unmistakable.

He was deliberately provoking Joel.

And it was working beautifully.

Through the phone, I heard something crash, followed by the call abruptly ending.

Jack gave me an innocent smile, looking utterly pleased with himself.

"See how childish he is, sis?

I only answered because I was feeling generous, and he hangs up on me!

"His loss, right?"

I blinked and smiled silently.

Perfect. My troublemaking devil was living up to his reputation, and I was loving every minute.
