Chapter 11

The group around us grew louder, demanding I apologize to Jack.

After a moment's hesitation, I grabbed a glass and poured the wine.

If that's how it was going to be, I wouldn't let Joel manipulate me so easily.

But as I stepped forward, Joel's girlfriend "accidentally" bumped into me.

Both the wine and I went flying—straight into Jack's lap.

"Oops! Sorry, Sophia. Total accident."

But I barely registered her fake apology.

Red wine soaked Jack's shirt, revealing every contour of his chest.

I grabbed a napkin in panic, dabbing at the spill, my fingers brushing against his rock-hard abs.

The contact sent an unexpected thrill through me.

"Mmm, so attentive, sis."

Jack suddenly caught my hand and kissed the wine droplets from my skin.

My face flamed as people rushed to separate us.

"You're nothing but trouble! Get out of here!"

In the chaos that followed, thanks to something Jack said, I was thrown out.

Joel even handed me a ticket off the island.

What he didn't know was that I never left—someone pulled me into a hidden room instead.

A few days later.

Now officially Jack's girlfriend, I found myself pressed against the wall, his hungry kisses making my head spin.

Just as we reached the door, it rattled with knocking, and Joel's voice filtered through.

"Jack, what the hell have you been doing locked in there for days?

We're all going snorkeling, and you're the only one missing. Open up!"
