I passed the exam and became an official warrior Omega.
Kael insisted we celebrate. He took me for a walk along the Thames.
Magnolias were in full bloom, their delicate petals drifting on the gentle breeze.
We strolled along the embankment, hand in hand.
"Kael," I said suddenly.
"Mm?"
"Do you regret it?" I asked. "Claiming me—an Omega from a nobody Pack."
"Your mother was right. I'm not good enough for you."
"Stop that." Kael cut me off sharply. "Who says you're not good enough?"
"I say you're perfect. That's all that matters."
"But..."
"No buts." Kael stopped walking and turned to face me.
He pulled a small velvet box from his pocket.
He opened it. Inside was a silver ring engraved with delicate wolf prints.
"Elara Grey." He dropped to one knee. "Be my Mate. My true Mate."
"Not for a week. Not for a month."
"For life."
Magnolia petals drifted down, landing softly on his shoulders.
The sunset bathed his face in warm golden light.
I threw myself into his arms:
"Yes. For life."
