Every morning, punctual as clockwork, bringing increasingly bizarre gifts.

Sometimes it was limited-edition energy drinks.

Sometimes protective amulets from the Pack store.

"What exactly am I supposed to do with this?" I eyed the bunny hopping nervously in its cage.

"For you to chase." Kael was completely serious. "Wolves chase rabbits. It's excellent stress relief."

"Thanks."

Kael nodded, looking satisfied. His fingers tapped rhythmically against his thigh—a wolf habit when they're content.
