Chapter 164 PHONE CALL

1488words
ANDREW POV:

Reaching the train station, I spotted Ron immediately as I sprinted toward him. "Where is she?"

I ask while my eyes start to scan the crowd.

"The train…" Ron hesitated at first and then with my one glare on him he blurted out immediately.

"The train has left for Aspen."

BOOM

My heart skips a beat after hearing his words and for a moment I go blank. I am not able to see properly nor think properly. My head starts to spin as I stagger and am caught by Ron, immediately.

"Sir…" He calls me, anxiously.

"She left me?" I whisper in disbelief.

"She will be back soon, Miss Swan has left for Aspen in the morning and I have the address where Miss is going to stay. Miss Celine is also accompanying Miss. So, don't worry Sir. She will be back soon."

Ron explains and somehow my restless heart starts to calm down.

I took out my phone and called Tessa's phone but she didn't attend it at all. I leave several messages too but as usual, she has just ghosted.

I then call Ann to vent my anger on her but then suddenly I stop.

As I realize this one thing very clearly Ann has all the power and she has done what she had said to me.

She has taken away my Tessa from me but I won't let her go far away from me.

With a new strategy on my mind, I turn to walk back to my car, Ron follows me anxiously.

"I am fine, Ron. Go back. I am also going home." I tell him with assurance and he nods after thinking for a while.

Good Thing.

I drive to the mansion and then rest for the whole day. I know Tessa is safe, she is fine. Ann won't harm her until she gives birth to my child. As long as she is pregnant, nothing can harm her.

"Your tea, sir," I thank Natasha who has just brought tea for me.

She is a cleaning maid in the mansion but she cooks occasionally whenever Miss Celine would take off. I had already expected her in the house.

"Natasha…" I call her as she turns to the door.

She turns back to me from my voice, her cheeks blushing, seriously, I am not into maids nor could I cheat on my beautiful wife, Tessy.

But I need her favor so I have to be sweet and nice to her just for a few minutes, perhaps.

"I have been looking for one of my vests for my morning run but couldn't find it. Can you please help in finding it?" I ask softly and she nods her head, her cheeks getting more red and her lashes tremble as she nods her head to me and then enters my wardrobe.

I take sips from my tea while she keeps looking for the vest, making a mess that she is going to clean later for sure.

When my tea finishes, I finally stand up from my place and walk to her into the wardrobe.

"Did you find it?" I question and damn the girl looks too exhausted as she turns and says apologetically, "No, Sir. I couldn't find a single vest."

I lean on the door frame and then suggest calmly, "Perhaps you could call Miss Celine, she would have an idea about my clothes."

She looks at me and then I give her my best smile as she nods her head agreeing.

"Ok," she takes out her phone from her pocket and then dials a number, after a few rings I hear Miss Celine's voice, BINGO.

I try to compose my grin.

Don't be so happy, You haven't got the number yet, Andrew.

I remind myself.

I had Miss Celine's number but since Ann has changed her number I don't have any contact with her and somehow Ann knows that Tessa is pissed at me so Tessa's number, for the time being, is safe and the same as the old one.

She disconnects the call and then looks at me, "What did she say?" I ask.

"She says she has folded them neatly beside the track pants but I see nothing here." She looks in the wardrobe cluelessly.

Yeah, how are you gonna find them? I have kept them safe somewhere else, Natasha.

"Oh," I say thoughtfully, and then standing beside her I act as if I was looking for my vest when indeed my hand was trying to get into her pocket to take out her phone.

"Uhmm… There, Natasha, it's up there. Could you bring something so that you would be able to reach there?" I tell her as I point towards the upper shelf where my hand could reach easily but I try my best to act that I am not tall enough to reach there.

She nods her head and then goes out of my room.

I immediately open her call log and save Miss Celine's number into my phone and then drop her phone on the ground.

BOOM

She returns with a small ladder while I sit on my sofa and indulge in my office work.

"Here, Sir." She keeps a pile of vests neatly folded on the coffee table and I give her a praising smile, "Thanks, Natasha."

She smiles shyly waiting for me to approach as I dismiss her plainly, "You can leave now and also leave my dinner outside my room. I won't be coming down."

Her face falls as she hears my words and then reluctantly she leaves my room.

Whoosh…

I breathe a sigh of relief and then pull out my phone. Before calling Miss Celine, I try Tessa's number and guess what she accepts my call, finally.

"What?" Her voice was deeply hoarse. Sleepyhead.

"Tessy, Finally…. Why the hell are you not picking up my phone and neither checking my messages? What is wrong with you?" I question getting over-excited.

"There is nothing wrong with me, why don't you look at yourself, Andrew…" She scolds me, she is still pissed.

"I didn't mean it like that way, I know you are hurt, I know you are disappointed but trust me, Tessy, I will make everything right," I tell her and she scoffs in response.

I know, Tessy. We have trust issues.

"When you will be able to make things right, then come over to me otherwise no need to contact me, Andrew. We can't hurt Ann's feelings after all." She says sarcastically and finally, I understand why she cut off herself from me after our interaction.

"Tessy…" I call her name wanting to apologize when she suddenly stops me and then ends the call.

"Tessy??" I exclaim in disbelief, did she just hang up on me?

I call back her phone and guess what it's switched off.

Seriously, Tessy??

Anxiously, I call Miss Celine and she picks up my call instantly.

"Hello."

"Uhmm… Miss Celine… I am Andrew." I tell her and after sharing polite greetings I come to the main topic for which I have called her.

"Where is Tessa?" I ask.

"She is probably sleeping in her room. I have asked her to take a nap. Do you want me to wake her up?" She asks.

So, that is why she picked up my call because she was asleep and disoriented. I feel a little disheartened but still, I can't argue with her on that, she has the right to behave like this.

"No, Is she fine?" I ask her.

"Yes, Sir." She replies and I pause and then hesitantly ask, "Is she happy?"

"Yes." Miss Celine replies and my face falls in disbelief, "Without me?" I ask curiously.

"She has been very distressed but as we have got here. She looks happy, maybe because the environment has changed for her. If you want I can pass the phone to her, or any message you want me to convey to her." She asks politely and I shake my head immediately.

"No… No… Miss Celine. Just… Take care of her, please, and don't let her know that I have been in touch with you." And then I add respectfully, "Please."

"Ok, don't worry Sir. I will keep updating you about her health." She says and I smile, satisfied.

"Thank you very much, Miss Celine." I thank her with gratitude.

"You're most welcome," She says politely and then ends the call.

Huh, Tessy How many days are we going to suffer like this??

I look out and the sun is getting low, I stare at the orange sun that is hiding in the dark, hoping Tessa would be missing me and not cursing me all the time in anger.

I then take out my phone and ask Lillian and Ron to have dinner with me tonight. Except for these two people in my life, I don't trust any other of my employees.
