Chapter 165 THERAPY

ANDREW POV:

"Say something." I urge when I see Ron and Lillian's shocked faces staring at me without blinking.

They look as if I have hit them with a thunderstruck. I have revealed the incident of that unfortunate night when I attempted to kill Tessa and now they are dumbfounded by my revelation.

Was I that bad at revealing?

"So…" Lillian begins taking a sip of her drink. "You really don't remember what you did with your wife??? Like you have literally no idea that you were going to cut her throat and leave her to die a painful death." Lillian improvised and I gulped in embarrassment.

"As I said, I didn't realize it until Ann came over and asks me to stop," I tell honestly.

"Miss Swan has gone for dinner that night, so how come she reaches you in time?" Ron raises a question. Fairly making a point.

"I don't know, but she saves Tessa and me too," I say, shrugging.

"The way your sister is reacting, I don't see this as normal," Lillian says from her perspective.

"She thinks I am not the normal here," I tell bitterly and frown as that night's incident flashes in front of my eyes.

"How could she say that?" Lillian gasps.

"Ummm… Actually, I had fallen into depression after my parent's death and even had suicidal thoughts in my mind. Ann was the one who rescued me and recovered me from this depression. She thinks…" I pause looking at their both focused faces on me, "She thinks Tessa's appearance triggers my mind. The traumas and all the negativity from the past."

"Nonsense, Miss is too innocent." Ron comes in defense of Tessa and I look at him displeased. Not liking the way he takes Tessa's side so offensively.

It seems like he is forgetting that she is my wife. His Boss's wife or I would say a friend's.

"Yeah, she doesn't look harmful and neither do you." Lillian looks at me with narrowed eyes and I shrug under her gaze.

"So… find me a good psychologist… I need therapy to control my mind." I tell them and they both look at me in unison and then at each other.

"You're not crazy, For God's sake," Lillian says a little loudly and I hurriedly hush her down.

"Lillian, lower your voice."

"Oops, my apologies." She says quickly.

"Don't worry, Sir. We will look for the best in this field so you don't need to worry." Ron says nicely and I feel glad that I have trusted the right man for this.

"I don't want the best but someone who is absolutely low-key so that Ann won't know about it at all," I tell them both my worries and they nod their heads in unison.

"Also, It would be good if I see the doctor during my working hours. I don't want Ann to doubt my disappearance from home." I tell them both.

Again they both nod in agreement.

"One more thing," I add, "No one calls me at home. Only text messages."

Yeah, I don't want them to call me, and then Ann finds out about our little secret by eavesdropping on us, or any maid could eavesdrop and then informs Ann about this.

"I think you should probably leave an email regarding this. Things we are not allowed to do." Lillian says sarcastically and I snap angrily at her, "This is serious and important Lillian. It's my life and now Tessa's life is also joined with me."

I lash out at her unknowingly and Ron immediately holds Lillian's hand stopping her from saying a single word in response to me.

"Don't worry, Boss. We both will take care of everything and never break your trust." Ron says with loyalty and I breathe in relief.

"Thanks a lot for helping me out." I thank them both with gratitude. I don't know what I would be doing without them at this moment. I really need friends or someone to talk to.

I am tired of this lonely life.

"You are very welcome." Lillian slumbers and I chuckle. "What have you been drinking, huh?"

I ask as I pick up her empty glass and then sniff it.

"Alcohol? Have you been drinking alcohol?" I question her.

"Brandy…" She murmurs, looking drunk.

Oh God, I have just told her such a huge thing and here she is all drunk sputtering out everything to any stranger on the street.

What luck, I have got.

"Ron, safely take her back to her home," I order Ron and he obeys immediately.

After they both left, I didn't leave immediately instead I stayed longer in the restaurant, after all, I have no one at home to go back to.

I lean back on my seat watching all the young couples together, giggling, chatting, joking, why can't Tessa and I live like this? A simple, ordinary, normal life just like my parents used to live together.

Sigh…

I look at the watch past 10, would Tessa have fallen asleep at this time, or still enjoying her new surroundings?

I wondered and then took out my phone. I called her and unfortunately, I couldn't get through to her because she had switched off her phone.

Oh, Tessy, how long are you going to stay mad at me like this?

*****

"This??" I raise my brow in questioning at Ron and he nods his head positively.

"Are you sure?" I ask in doubt.

"Yes, Sir. She is very good and low profile too." He says as he leads me the way to the villa where the woman stays.

He presses the doorbell and after a moment, the door opens revealing a young woman the same as my age, what the..?

I look at Ron, anger rising in me, how could such a young doctor be a good psychiatrist? I need someone with experience.

"Dr. Kavanagh?" Ron asks with a puzzled face the young woman.

"Oh, Granny is inside. Please come." She gives the way to us politely and we both enter inside one by one.

The lady led us to a room in the corner which must be the therapy room made by her granny and there I see an old woman sitting behind the desk, wearing glasses, her eyes sharp on me and Ron.

"Dr. Kavanagh, I am Leia's son," Ron says and the woman lowers her glasses scanning Ron from top to bottom, and then exclaims in surprise. "Ron?"

Ron nods his head looking excited and soon the woman stands up and then hugs him warmly, Are they relatives?

I feel awkward looking at them in a warmly affectionate moment and the lady beside me gives me a small shy smile.

Oh, I am already taken, Miss.

Can't you see my wedding ring???

Ron whispers in Dr. Kavanagh's ear something related to me as she starts eyeing me up and down and then nods her head, "Ok."

"So, I'll leave you two then," Ron says, and giving me a polite nod, he leaves. The young woman also takes the hint from her granny as she leaves too while closing the door on her way out.

"Please come and sit here." Dr. Kavanagh invites me to sit on the sofa and I take my place feeling comfortable.

"So, what would you like to talk about, first?" She asks as she takes her place beside the sofa where I am sitting and then holds a journal and pen looking at me with soft and expectant eyes.

I take a deep breath and then begin.

"I was born in a loving family, my parents love me a lot and I too feel grateful for both of their love in my life. My childhood was quite happy and good as far as I remember. Until one day my mother finds out about my father's illegitimate daughter who was born through a whole conspiracy.

Her name is Anna Swan, she had lived a very terrible life. My father never accepted her and her foster parents had always abused her sexually and physically too."

I reveal and then stop. Those memories of Ann crying and being in a miserable state come into my mind as I frown badly.

"It's okay, take your time." She says and I nod my head.

Taking a few deep breaths, I continue, "When… When my mother found out about Ann's miserable state in which she was living, she started to insist my father bring her back to us. My mother had never been blessed with any child beside me so she wanted to give Ann the love of family that she deserves. They had fights, arguments, many unpleasant moments, crying, sobbing, and not forgetting the legal battles they fought.

Ann's foster parents were greedy and reluctant to leave her so there had been a very long legal fight. finally when one day their house caught on fire and both parents died a terrible death. Finally, my parents got hold of Ann as her legal guardian."

I pause again, "The day we were going to bring Anna back to us, that day my parents met with an accident and died on the spot, I was the only survivor in that accident."

I tell her and take a few more deep breaths, my brows start to knit as an unpleasant feeling starts enveloping my heart.

"Are you ok?" Dr. Kavanagh asks, concerned, and then hands me a glass of water to drink.

I take a few sips as I nod my head in response.

She writes a few things in her journal and then asks, "Where did the accident happen?"

"Chicago," I replied to her.

Chicago is a place where Ann would never return because her past still haunts her.

And that terrible accident still haunts me.
