I rushed after her. She gets into the elevator pretty fast and I notice her eyes welled up with tears.
Oh No…
A pang of guilt hit me hard and somehow I was able to make it inside the elevator.
The door closes immediately and I let out my breath. Tessa turns her back on me instantly, she is hurt, and she is sobbing. I don't know if any of my words would console her broken heart.
I am out of words and then without thinking I hug her from behind. If she wants to cry then cry in my arms. Let me also suffer with her.
"Don't cry, Tessy," I whisper slowly while keeping my head on her shoulder.
She starts hitting me, venting out her anger and I let her.
The door of the elevator opens with a DING and I take her straight to her room. Once we get inside I lock it hurriedly. I don't want Ann to barge on us making the situation worse.
"What?" Tessa asks loudly.
Taking a deep breath, I kneel beside her and then hold her hand, one last attempt to make her understand my helplessness. "Tessy, please don't force me with the things that are out of my hands."
"I am your wife, I am carrying your child, hubby… I don't think it's fair to let anyone decide our life. Can't you see how foolish it is what Ann is doing…" She says and I agree with each word that comes out of her mouth but I just can't accept it.
I am completely powerless in front of Ann.
"Tessy, I can't make Ann unhappy. And I don't want you to disobey her in any way."
Please try to understand, Tessy. Look into my eyes.
"So, you mean it is fair for us to stay like this because Ann wants us to?" She begins, anger rising in her voice and reluctantly I nod my head. "So, you mean we should stay apart for as long as she wants us, right?"
NO, Tessy, I will bring you back to me just give me some time.
"Yes, Tessy," I say with difficulty.
"Yes, what?" She asks in a strained voice.
"If Ann doesn't want us to stay together, then we won't. If Ann doesn't want us to see each other then we won't. We won't do anything that will hurt Ann. Remember, she is the one because of which you are here now, sitting in front of me carrying my child."
I tell her, please take the clue, Tessy.
You are intelligent. Can't you see I can't fight her and win overnight…
"Okay." She surrenders, making me shocked.
"Okay?"
So, finally, she understands that I am powerless and weak in front of Ann and she would support me and give me some time. Thank Lord, I take a long sigh of relief and then kiss her knuckles with a relieved smile on my face.
"Thanks, Tessy."
She stands and walks out of the room, I follow her behind quietly and as we exit the room, we bump into Ann.
Great…
She looks at me with narrowed eyes and ignoring her I keep following Tessa when suddenly her hand grips my arm and she pulls me with her.
"What the hell has happened to you, Andrew? Now, you are refusing my orders in business, too?" Ann questions angrily once we get inside her study room.
"The jewel business belongs to me, Ann. I am the sole owner of that." I tell her firmly.
I have to start making my own decision in order to get hold of my life again.
"You're forgetting that you have transferred everything to my name." Ann reminds me and a half-smirk appears on my lips that I hide quickly.
"Except the jewel business that my father has begun from his own hard work," I correct her and she looks shocked at my revelation.
"I don't believe it," She snaps.
"I can show you the papers, Ann. Dad's belongings belong to me. I have given you everything Ann except the thing Dad loves the most." I tell her calmly and she looks completely taken aback.
"So, you are not going to listen to me, Andrew." She asks through gritted teeth.
"Ann, I am an adult and I have the right to make my own decisions." I try to make her understand softly.
"But, before Tessa, you never made your own decisions." She points out with a bitter face.
"Things have changed, now." I shrug, her eyes scanning me carefully. She doesn't look angry now but sad.
F**k, no…
"Yes, now you have forgotten me, Andrew. A sister who has sacrificed everything for you." She starts getting emotional and I knew I would get carried away by her emotional talks as quickly I put my condition to her in a clear voice.
"Ann, let's not dwell on the past. Finish your anger, and let me and Tessa live in peace for the time being. She doesn't like the way you are keeping her away from me and neither do I like it."
BOOM
I look at her with hope, my heart thumping loudly. Come on, Ann. Say yes, now.
Let me go down and give Tessy the good news. But no, Ann isn't someone easy to handle.
"No… You can keep your business and money, I'll keep Tessa with me."
F**k… F**k… F**k…
Is Tessa some kind of bargaining chip here?
What the hell is Ann doing and also me…?? What is wrong with me??
Sighing in disappointment I left her study, she followed and we together reached the dining table.
Tessa's face is straight all the time and she barely looks in my direction. She leaves the table quickly and I watch her back puzzled.
What is wrong with her?
At night, I called her but she didn't accept my call. I thought she had fallen asleep as I sent her multiple messages so that she would see them in the morning.
I have a restless night and trouble sleeping.
The next day also, I am not able to see Tessa, even at the dinner table she wasn't present. She is ignoring me. I could feel it.
"Tessa."
I wake up with a jolt, the nightmare again haunts me, and worriedly, I slip out of my bed and head straight to the third floor into Tessa's room.
Thankfully, her door is unlocked and she is sleeping peacefully. I watched her from afar, clenching my hands tightly as they were itching to touch Tessa's smooth skin. A quick peck would do but no what if she wakes up?
I keep standing watching her intently, I feel calm watching her sleeping peacefully. Thankfully she is in front of my eyes otherwise God knows what would happen to me.
Quietly, I withdrew my steps and before I am able to reach the elevator and press the button, A voice startled me.
"Disobeying me, again." Ann's sarcasm was evident in her voice.
"I was just checking on Tessa," I tell her, truthfully.
"Why? Have the nightmares started again?" She asked, suspiciously.
"Kind of," I reply nervously.
"I will give you the medicine." She changes her tone and then turns but I stop her immediately, "No need, Ann. I have taken a look at Tessa and it was enough to calm me down." I said honestly and her brows furrowed.
I don't wait to prolong the argument as I leave her floor quickly but at that time I didn't know that that small visit would take Tessa too far away from me.

It was a regular day for me in the office until Ron calls me and inform me of something that drops my pulse instantly.
"Where did they take her?" I ask Ron. My anxiety increases with each second.
Where did Tessa go with Ann's bodyguard and why has no one informed me about it?
"Train station, she is leaving for Aspen with Miss Celine," Ron informs me and I immediately stand from my place. I storm out of my office ignoring Lillian's anxious gaze on me and make my way towards my car hurriedly.
"Reach the station, I'll meet you there." I end the call and then at full speed, I drive towards the station, what the hell is wrong with Ann? Why is she doing this? My heart thumping loudly.
MY heart starts to sink lower from the thought of the possibility of Tessa leaving me forever.
I can't afford to lose her. I have already lost two precious people from my life and now Tessa also.
No…
I speed up, trying my best to reach on time and bring her back to me, bring her back home.
I can't let her leave me too.
I can't !!!
