My father's eyes flash with something and then he says hurriedly, "There isn't one."
"What?" I frown, no photographer, why? At least, I should have one picture of our marriage. What am I gonna show to my grandkids when I will get old.
"Miss Swan thinks…" My father starts to explain Miss Swan's point of view but I wasn't in the mood to listen to anything at all. "Hold this," I tell my dad as I give him the bouquet that I was holding.
Then taking out my phone from my slip, I walk out of the church looking for another door, I find a window and I peek inside, I see the back of my husband-to-be, he is tall and I can notice him between a crowd of thousand people.
Beside him, Ron is standing quietly, He is looking around, great, for the very first time, he is not lost in his thoughts, I wave my hand and that catches his attention, thankfully he isn't wearing his black shades inside the church.
He looks at me, surprised, and then looks around nervously, saying something to Andrew he leaves the church, I stand straight waiting for him, he comes out and ask with a worried face, "What is wrong, Miss? We all are waiting for you inside."
"Oh, I know actually, but there is no photographer, Ron. Can you please click mine and Andrew's picture when we will say the vows and exchange rings?" I request him and he looks terrified by my request.
"Miss… I don't think…" He begins to refuse but I quickly add, "Please, Ron. I want just one picture to remember our wedding."
He looks moved by my words and then takes the phone from my hand quickly, "Don't mention this to anyone. Not even to Mr. Andrew." He warns and then leaves hurriedly.
I also walk back to my place, my father's face was pale when I enter, "Tess, God you scared me, where were you huh?" he questions.
"Dad, I needed some fresh air to breathe.." I lie and try hard to not smirk. I can't keep straight face when I am lying or know if someone is lying.
"Come, any second the door will be opened." My dad says anxiously and then quickly puts down my veil that I had lifted in order to look for my savior, Ron.
CREAK…
The huge doors opened and a sweet melody start playing in the background, holding my father's arm I walk the aisle and as I enter the church I am stunned to see only a handful of people. I look around and there is no decoration in the church, not a single flower comes into my view, sigh.
I notice Miss Swan, she is wearing a bright red color dress with red lipstick and a beautiful hat on her head, "Is she celebrating valentine?" The first thought comes to my mind. I didn't see mom and Cyril, maybe because my mom is accompanying him backside, after all, he is not able to be around in a crowd of people.
And finally, I notice my dear future husband, he is wearing a tuxedo, it's black and it's shining a lot. His face is stone-cold I wonder why? Isn't he mesmerize by my beauty? I walk with a dull face, this wedding isn't the wedding I had dreamed of. It isn't near to any fairytale at all, this is so plain and ordinary.
I reach the stairs and Andrew takes my hand, his grip is firm and I gasp at this little touch between us. He helps me to stand in my place and I feel a little happy in my heart. Just a small kindness and care from him can melt my heart in seconds.
Standing beside each other, we look like a pair of Devil and Angel. Not from any angle he looks like my prince at all.
The priest starts taking our names and saying the vows which we repeat after him. Andrew picks the ring and put it on my finger while I do the same, he didn't even bother to look at the design. At last, we are Husband and Wife and I look at him nervously when the priest announced us to kiss.
He pulls up my veil and looks at me stunned, the coldness in his eyes fading as it turns to something warm, my heart starts thumping violently in excitement, our very first kiss is going to happen now.
Andrew holds my face and for a moment I feel lost in his depth, and then I close my eyes allowing him to devour me, he pecks my lips and before I can respond he pulls away from me.
CLAP... CLAP... CLAP
The clap around us brings me back from trance and I shrug embarrassedly. That was pretty much quick.
Well, we will get plenty of time to have long kisses, I giggle and Andrew looks at me with a frown. I immediately sober up sensing his anger towards me, Miss Swan comes up, she congratulates me and from the corner of my eyes, I notice Ron, who had just put back my phone in his pocket.
I hope he has clicked our photos and has not disappointed me just like others did. Miss Swan takes us to a high-end hotel, where she has arranged a small reception. Andrew didn't say anything during the whole ride. We sit as strangers in the car.
I want to talk with him a lot but somehow a lump in my throat didn't allow me to form any word at all I am very happy that finally, my dream has come true, and now I am Mrs. Andrew Jack.
We walk into the hotel, Andrew is still indifferent and cold, but thankfully I have Ron that helps me a lot. Here also I see the same handful people. We sit and eat dinner, Miss Swan looks too much happy, she keeps toasting and the way she is showering her love on me it seems like she is my sister not Andrew's at all.
After we finish the dinner, I look at Miss Swan who is all ready to finish the reception. "Our wedding dance?" I ask, a bit loud. I notice Andrew is on his phone continuously and he pauses when I mention our dance.
"Uhmm…" Miss Swan looks at me blankly and then at my father, "Dylan?" She raises her brow in questioning and my mother immediately comes to my rescue, "A wedding is incomplete without the couple dance, no? I'll ask the musician to play something for our bride and groom." My mother stands up without waiting for anyone's approval and soon the light music starts playing in the background.
I look at Andrew, he looks at his sister, after her gesture, he finally stands up in reluctance. I don't care if he looks reluctant, I need my wedding dance, I have even made a little change in my dress because of that.
I take off my veil, keeping it neatly on the table, and then bending down I separated the mermaid tail that is now attached to my dress, now my dress has become a long dress and I am able to walk in it freely.
Andrew walks to the center of the hall by himself not even waiting for me, I frown but hiding my boiling rage I walk toward him with a smile I don't want to spoil my wedding after all.
"Shall we?" I ask him, politely.
He nods with a stone face and as he touched my waist, he frowns. Yeah, he didn't know it was backless. We start dancing with slow and steady steps and soon match each other's steps, Andrew had a stern face when we started the dance but after some time I see a faint smile on his face and he is slightly rubbing my back.
I blush from his touch but still dance with confidence, I love dancing and now I think Andrew too loves it, he is too good at it that we look like a made for each other couple.
The music ends when Andrew spins me and then dips me gracefully. We look into each other eyes for a while, his eyes are deep black and I could see my reflection in them, for a moment he looks happy and sweet but then just in a moment everything changed.
He helps me to stand and again that coldness appears in his eyes. Even after the marriage he is still so detached from me, but why?
